The worst costumer service, the worst attitude. Refused to service my new home because of an "outstanding bill" with my father's business from 10+ years ago, but couldn't provide an invoice proving the business owed them a dime. (They found out I was "linked" to the business due to my personal number being associated with the business phone plan). What does my home and a new garbage service (in my name, paying with a card in my name) have to do with a business that I have no link to except knowing the owner? If my fiancé called under his phone number and name, bet we would have gotten service, or if i called from a totally different number other than one that popped up with my father's company, (see the ridiculousness yet) but after being hung up on when calling the nasty representative on the phone out for how idiotic she sounded, I wouldn't use them for the worse of garbage. read more

Occasionally, the garbage and recycling are not picked up. I called a couple of times and was told that my refuse HAD. Been picked up and that I was lying. Now, when there is no pick-up, I don't call. I feel I will not be believed. And anyway, they won't schedule another pick-up and I have to wait for the next pick-up schedule. Whatever happened to "The customer is always right." Maybe I will call again because it happened ,(or didn't happen!!)again this week....no pick-up even though I put out the bins the night before. read more

I'll start with the positive. I used Recycle Depot for several years for my garbage and recycling and they were always on time for their pickups and were by far a bargain compared to their competitors. There was one small problem about two years ago where they changed their billing procedure and no longer mailed a statement. I received an emailed statement two days before my payment was due which was a problem because I always mailed in a check for payment. Upon calling them (I paid over the phone) they told me their new billing system only allowed either a emailed statement or one by mail, not both. I elected to get my statement by mail and there weren't any other issues however I thought it was very odd for a company of that size to change their billing procedure without notifying customers. Those who mailed in a check were hung out to dry. What caused me to switch companies was the fact that they raised their prices by 13$ a billing cycle without any notice. Once again very odd for company to make such a drastic change without notifying their loyal customers. They also don't offer any size options in regards to their residential collection bins. I switched to Royal/Welsh which does offer different sizes and now save about 15$ a bill. Overall Recycle Depot was great in regards to reliability but in terms of pricing and customer service they could do a lot better. read more

Can't think of anything good. Last conversation with Nancy was she "couldn't tell me the long list of reasons why my trash wasn't picked up yesterday". One excuse after another. I said if they could just send out an email or something I wouldn't be calling. She said it will be picked up today and hung up on me. I don't see Residential Trash pick up for very long in Recycle Depot future in 2022. I certainly can see why drivers keep quitting. I have never had a good experience here, just plain "Rude"! I contacted the Recycle Depot at the end of March for garbage pick up for a rental property that I own. I had been trying to contact the city for service however I couldn't get through. About a week later I received a call back from the city informing me that they do have service and I could sign up. I called Recycle Depot back and informed them that I'd be cancelling my service with them and going with the city service. They were obviously annoyed and appeared to had taken my cancellation personally. They informed me that I had to stay with them for a month and pay a fee for canceling service. When the month was up they didn't pick the garbage up or the cans. I called to find out what happened. They transferred me to a voicemail instead of letting me speak to the person who handles garbage pick up informing me that she didn't know if she was in the office. Mind you the office is small so they absolutely know whether she's in the office or not. I emailed and she responded to my email right away. Even in the email you can tell how snippy and condescending they were being. So very unprofessional. In the email they informed me that the tenants didn't put the garbage cans out and I had to pay another fee for them to come back out the following week even though our business would be over so they would have to pick up their garbage cans anyway. The fee was withdrawn from my account but garbage pick up morning I received a text from my tenant informing me that garbage wasn't picked up again. I called the office and was told someone would call me back. I emailed also. I waited an hour and a half and received no callback and no email so I called the office again only to be told "this is getting crazy with the emails and calls, it's still Thursday, they are still out". I'm calling and emailing to follow up to ensure we don't have the same confusion as last week. What's crazy about that especially since if she would have told me that when I first called instead of telling me she'd call me back there wouldn't have been a reason for me to call or email them back. They have a 3.5 rating on Google and 3 on Yelp and I see why, I'm surprised those ratings aren't lower. They think they are the MOB. I can't leave them for a month and I had to pay a fee on top of that. Unreal. I just received a response from my two calls and two emails accusing me of harassment for following up with them after not receiving responses from them. I've been a customer of Recycle Depot for 7 years. Their customer service is second to none. There have been times I forgot to put my garbage out for pickup. The truck driver was nice enough to get my garbage can from behind my garage and empty it for me. He even put the garbage can back! Other times, the driver turned the truck around when I flagged him down, again because I forgot to put the garbage out! The office staff is also very professional and helpful. I highly recommend giving Recycle Depot a chance to serve you. They provide an essential service at a great price! read more

I usually like to think about a review for a full 24 hours before writing it. I like to think about my own mindset and actions that could have differently affected the experience. I don't have time for that tonight. That is why I am giving Recycle Depot a three star review which isn't completely bad. I have been a customer for almost two years and with the exception of a few hiccups when we were first starting our service, I had no complaints. However, today I experienced customer service that was so poorly handled, I have permanently cancelled my service with them. I had a roll off dumpster delivered to my home on June 22nd which was a Thursday. Since that Thursday we have as a family experienced what you could call a "when it rains it pours" type of few weeks. I'm not talking about a few little inconveniences, I am talking real life that doesn't always happen when you want it to or how you want it to. The type of things that you don't plan for, and if your friend, neighbor or other human experiences (or in this case, a customer), you would usually have compassion for. The truth is that I have had the dumpster for fourteen days as of today. The other truth is that when I called to schedule the dumpster, I asked how long I had it for and was told "we leave the dumpster there for ten to fourteen days but we have flexibility, and as long as you don't abuse it, we can usually give you a little more time." It seemed like an easy thing to do, and had I known that this wasn't the case, I would have made arrangements to pay someone to help me. Today the phone rang and the customer service representative told me that they would be out tomorrow to pick up the dumpster. I asked if I could have the dumpster for a few more days and that is where the customer service break down happened. I need to make sure the reader understands that I know there is a time line, and that is NOT what bothered me. It was the representatives nasty tone which frustrated me so much that I ended up cancelling my service completely. The call quickly turned into a representative giving me a lecture (yes, a lecture) in which she said things as insulting as "that's called life and it happens" (this was in regards to a family death), and "You are taking your frustration with yourself and your family for not filling the dumpster out on the company." I am not remotely frustrated with myself or my family. I know what we have been through. Believe me, if filling that dumpster had been an option, we would have! I called back later to speak with the owner because I was still shocked at what had happened over a dumpster. Instead of listening to my frustration about the customer service, she wanted to keep suggesting that I was upset over the dumpster pick up and said five times that I "admitted I knew the time line." I never tried to say I didn't know the time line. I never once pretended that a time line didn't exist. They had agreed to a date from the start, but they had also said that getting a few extra days wasn't usually a problem. It was then that it was suggested that I was a liar because she said that "no one would have ever told me that." When I said "now you are calling me a liar" she wanted to focus on the word "liar" and claimed that wasn't true. Unfortunately, when someone claims that something you are telling them was said to you was never said, even if you don't use the word "liar", the implication is there. This company is small and made up of a few employees who all work together in a small office space and apparently are so loyal to each other or dislike their jobs so much that it isn't in their vocabulary to say "I am sorry that this situation was handled so poorly." In the medical field doctors are sued for this type of service, in restaurants people dine at other restaurants, and in business, customers go elsewhere. That is what I have done. I acknowledge that they need to move dumpsters to pay the bills of this business, but working with a customer who has also used your weekly service for two years, and who was in a less than "normal life" situation irregardless of whether you think it qualifies as such or not, would have gone so much further than berating them and lecturing them. It would have kept a good customer, and a positive attitude for their company instead of a long, negative review and a lost customer and referral base. If you are looking for an average priced garbage service that is reliable, this isn't a bad company. If, however, customer service is important to you, then I would definitely look elsewhere because you won't find it here. read more

I have used this facility probably a dozen or so times over the last 2-3 years. Cleaning out my moms house in the C/Poughkeepsie where bulk pickup is a problem, this place is perfect and reasonably priced. Minimum charge on trash/bulk items is $20. I have had full, heavy pickup loads and the per pound rates are reasonable too. You drive in, get weighed, remove you junk and get re-weighed, simple. Friendly staff too. read more

I rented a 10 yard dumpster. When I called, the phone service was excellent. The receptionist asked what I was using the dumpster for and then recommended the size. After I chose the size, it was as simple as paying a rental fee, then they deliver the dumpster and I could use it for a full week. After that he week they come back to take the dumpster away. The rental and removal was a convenient easy process. I couldn't believe how much had accumulated in my home and we nearly filled the dumpster. The size that Recycle Depot advised it was perfect. I would highly recommend Recycle Depot to anyone. read more

Scheduled dumpster pickup today. Employee scraped the driveway and pulled up some lawn when loading the dumpster. He argued with the customer, even telling her that she should "go on her hands and knees" to try to clean the mess. This was the most unprofessional service we have ever received from a vendor. Their employee also took out his phone to video the conversation, where he clearly was disrespectful and downright rude. Upon calling their office, I did not get much of a better response. Their Sales Manager, Nancy, was rude and had no interest in trying to resolve the issue, other than telling me it wasn't her problem. scam artists DONT BUY the " item4" from here !!!!! it is nothing but chopped up GARBAGE - Literally !!!! IT IS NOT as pictured on their website !! photos on the website are fake!! They delivered and dumped it in my yard -- all over the fucking place - not even in a neat pile - and it was noting but crap!! ITEM4 is supposed to be a base layer for concrete or asphalt roadways and should be stone dust / crushed stone / bank run / fines and screened -- what they sent me was chopped up garbage - LITERALLY ! old construction and demolition debris: ground up concrete, broken cinder blocks, busted bricks, wood chips, pieces of marble and tiles, broken glass!!!, hunks of plastics, -- I apparently bought back my own garbage!! THIS PRODUCT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE EVEN if its used as a underlayment for concrete or asphalt driveway - with the amount of organic garbage in it - when decaying it will produce sinkholes and soft spots in the concrete or asphalt - and this product is NOT-COMPATABLE Yes the website says recycled item 4 but i DID NOT expect to recieve GARBAGE !!! the least they could have done is screen out the trash ( IE: remove the glass, plastic, wood chips, and other crap!!) read more

I have never dealt with a more difficult company than Recycle Depot. The service is spotty. Sometimes they pickup early in the morning, other times it's been very late morning, and occasionally it's been the next day with no rhyme or reason. Nancy, I think she's the customer service manager, is very tough to deal with. If rudeness is a skill, she has definitely mastered it. I canceled my service based on Nancy being frequently rude and unprofessional. read more

Recycle Depot is a good fit for my company, McMahon's Home Improvement. In line with our ethics, they recycle much of the construction debris our projects generate, scheduling pick up and delivery is usually a stress-free, one call scenario, their office has always been reasonable /responsive when we called because something was not quite right, AND they flex when my office has to change things unexpectedly. I have been a Recycle Depo customer since 2009 when I purchased my first house. I sought a locally located business to provide waste removal service for me and found RD was more then just local. They offer competitive prices; great customer service who is reachable, responsive, and personable; as well as excellent service. When I first moved to my new house I asked for new garbage cans. Was promised I'd have them that week! No one ever showed and when I called liking for them Nancy was very Nasty! The next week started still no cans. Got another attitude from Nancy! Now they have new garbage trucks! An email goes out saying the garbage times may vary! Well my recyclables were completely missed. Spoke to a man on Monday. He said he would have someone call me back but leave the can on the road. Wednesday I called since no one called me. Spoke to Adreana explained my can is full. She said she is trying to get someone back out. Called Friday spoke to Adreana again. She gave me the whole I didn't forget about you bs. Well Monday came, my normal garbage delivery and my husband went out there at 530 am to make sure the driver took the separate can we had to put out there and funny thing is he knew nothing about missing the can last week and wasn't going to take the other can until we made him. My husband called to talk to Nancy and nothing but excuses. Never offered a credit or an apology. They never apologize for all the mistakes they make! Just cancelled our service after 7 years! Wow.. Ordered twice. Called to order a third but before I did I ask for some clarification on my last bill. There were numerous surcharges that were never explained. I was speaking to Nancy at the time. Not sure what her title is but she wouldn't let me speak to anyone else and repeated that I couldn't get her in trouble.( Nancy my company records convos for quality control. If you would like to hear yourself screaming at me, I would be glad to share it) Anyway, I asked why surcharges aren't explained when booking. She replies well we try to explain to everyone . They "TRY." The moment I repeated "TRY" she flipped her lid. Screaming at me to the top of her lungs, to the point I had to hold the phone away from my ear. When I return to the phone, Nancy then said" don't order from here again." Nancy I was referred to you by an employee and I know of Pepe the owner, which you are not. I was going to pursue this but don't want to get my friend in trouble.. To sum it up, Nancy is unprofessional and Recycle Depot should remove her from phones or any type of customer service. This isn't good business practice. You guys lost a $1000+ for a few additional questions. Also, we now will be disputing additional charges with our bank... We just want to be treated fairly and with respect as we did with you guys. read more

We've used Recycle Depot for residential trash and recycling pickup for two years. They had the best prices of all of the places I checked with, and they take whatever I leave at the curb, even when we have tons of extra garbage that doesn't fit in the dumpster thing. They randomly didn't show up once or twice. Nancy is super nice. Not sure about the building materials people mentioned below... I don't think we're going to have enough money to build anything anytime soon... read more

I had an issue with my fence that recycle depot was going to make good on but it's now been a month and no action has been taken.
