Anyone who is into old school thrift shops are in for a treat. It's been in business for many years and there's a reason for that - great products, customer service, and most importantly, the business reaching out to the community, donations to name one. This place is filled at least with someone's interest, which will make someone stay awhile. It's awesome seeing a store like this be in business for so long. I LOVE shopping at The Barn - it is by far one of my favorite thrift shops in the Hudson Valley! The staff of wonderful volunteers are so friendly and quick to help you find anything specific you're looking for. The prices are incomparably low - I've walked out of there with a bag of stuff for less than $5 on several occasions. They have dishware, houseware, kitchenware, fabric, crafting supplies, books, movies, sheet music, toys, jewelry, and a whole room of clothing upstairs (plus fitting rooms!) I usually find something here, at least a book. Very reasonable prices on everything and they try to keep it organized. Baby/kids is my main interest and I've been mostly disappointed with their selection. Women's and men's clothes have similar issues. These items are well-used and the styles tend to be overwhelmingly dated (not vintage), but not dirty (maybe dusty). The upstairs is where they keep the clothing, accessories, and crafts. There's a toy/game room in the back on the first floor. What's most exciting is when they sometimes have $0.25 sales, things look more attractive to me then ;) read more

The only reason im giving 3 stars is because this thrift shop is stuck in a financial stone age. They dont take debit or credit - seriously this is 2017 who the heck doesnt swipe? I know i dont like to walk around with cash and i havent used a check in way over 10 years . Its a thrift store you never know what you will walk in and find and not being able to swipe my card god forbid i didnt bring enough cash just means less sales for you. Were in the days of apple pay and paypal already. - now on a more positive note they do have a wide variety of cool things at good prices compared to other similar places in the hudson valley. read more

This is a glorified garage sale, full of stuff you don't need! The woman that helped me should definitely brush up on her customer service skills. I decided to take a look around and found a candle votive nothing special, remember they get everything here for free as donations. I asked how much she said $2, I already knew I wouldn't pay $2 for it but that's what thrift stores are good for bargaining or so I thought. I looked around some more realized there's nothing else I wanted, not to mention I didn't really need this candle votive, so I asked if she'd take a $1 for it, knowing I have to go home and scrub 6 layers of dust off it. She told me they "normally" don't do that with an attitude. So every person that walks in there not one person has ever bargained with them?? She did agree to my gracious dollar but definitely had to make a point when I paid with a $5 that I clearly had more then a $1 which I found rude and unprofessional. Did she not understand that I would of gladly not given her my $1 if I knew her attitude would be so terrible and of left without the item because let's be real who needs any of this crap anyway. read more

They provide such a wide variety of useful items for people who are looking, at very reasonable prices. They provide employment and engagement for community members who sort and organize everything that's brought in. They donate the proceeds of their work to youth programs to enrich the lives of teens and help them stay connected and in community. The whole thing is done as a service to God, and with a friendly, welcoming, kind and considerate energy for everyone who participates in every way. It is truly a down-home project, coming from generosity, gratitude, and respect, and not from greed, and done with the utmost integrity. They build relationships with and among community members with every interaction.
