Red Oak Sanitation is by far the worst trash company I've ever dealt with. Their service--when they even show up--is completely unreliable. On the rare occasions they did service our neighborhood, they left garbage scattered throughout the streets and routinely left trash cans in the middle of the road, creating traffic hazards. One of their drivers told me I needed to break down my boxes in order for them to be picked up. I followed the instructions exactly the next week--boxes were broken down completely--and yet they were still left behind. Their customer service is virtually non-existent. During business hours, they only have an answering service. I left a message and never received a callback. I even attempted to use their texting option as suggested, but--just as I expected--there was no response. If you have a choice in sanitation services, I strongly urge you to avoid Red Oak Sanitation at all costs. The lack of professionalism, communication, and basic service. read more

So terrible, I do not know where to start. We have not been with this company long, and I think they may have purchased the original company. One week when our trash wasnt picked up, I realized I hadnt seen a bill lately. I tore my house apart, searched through every email, nothing. I called the company, but they have no one to answer the phone and hang up after 10 min. I tried the "pay my bill" service over the phone, but they claimed to have no account with my phone number. No response to my "contact us" submission. I finally try to the text option. They were able to provide my account number so that I could access my account online and there of course was an overdue bill I was never sent but with no indication that service was terminated. I paid the bill and asked for clarification on if I was still scheduled for pickup. They said no, my account was canceled. I sent additional messages asking clarification on what needs to happen for my pickup to resume (paying fees, etc) . 5 messages, no responses. In essence, they canceled my account without sending an initial bill OR reminder through mail, email, text. Nothing. 10/10 customer service! Don't trust anyone who sells services door to door. read more

We had Boomerang sanitation forever. Mike and Christy and the whole crew were just terrific. They sold to red-oak. Our route started getting serviced by red-oak trucks. Red-Oak appears to have a very poor culture from top to bottom and it is glaring. Their drivers don't pick everything up, they leave trash strewn on the street, and when you call, you can't get anyone who gives a darn. We scheduled a bulk pick up which costs $25. They came out to do the pick up and failed to get all the trash as well as damaged my yard with the equipment that was used to pick up the items. When I called to ask about why they didn't pick up everything and to let them know my yard was damaged I was told that it wasn't bundled properly and the driver wasn't aware of any damage to the yard. Funny that I live in a cul de sac so he would have to be blind to not see this when he drove out of the cul de sac. I did not feel I received adequate service for what I paid for and asked to speak to a manager. I had a house full of people on Thanksgiving which clearly causes more trash than normal. We have an extra can for circumstances like this so trash is not in bags everywhere on the curb. They emptied 1 can and left all the trash in the 2nd bin behind. I called the office because this was unacceptable to me as a customer. i was told i could pay $20 for the extra can pick up or get 2 cans for $6 more a month "SORRY THAT WAS THERE POLICY" I don't NEED 2 CANS just for holiday overflow!! I started with Red Oak 3 weeks ago and they missed my trash pick-up every week. Someone picked up the missed service and is manually put into a bin on the back of a trailer vs. a garbage truck. The last time they manually transferred the trash a ceramic mug fell out onto the road and shattered in front of my driveway. No one took the time to clean this up to avoid anyone from running over it resulting in a flat tire. Needless to say I got a flat tire. I called twice and sent an email to the dispatcher who is the point of contact for all escalations. I have not heard from anyone in 3 days and there is no one to escalate above the dispatcher. I am hoping someone from Red Oak sees this and addresses my concern. Looks like I need to get another trash service. Any recommendations?? read more

This company has missed several pickups that last a week, they've raised their price by an additional $5/month over the past 6 months, and I stopped my service and asked them to pick up their container which was supposed to be last Thursday and here it is Monday and the container is still sitting in front of my house. I've already received a letter from our HOA asking me to put the container away but can't. If I could give them a zero I would. I've been a customer for over 10 years with them and have not missed one payment. However, I cannot say that they have not missed one pickup because it seems I have to call them at least once a month to get my garbage or recycling picked up. Today, I once again had to call them as they missed my garbage pickup. The first time I called the customer service rep continue to cut me off from talking, and then put me on hold. I then called back a second time to speak to a rep named Rudy, and inform him that the next pickup they could get my cans because I am done with them. Rudy said that was no big deal as for every customer like me that leaves, they get 10 that sign up for service. Wow! Red Oak recently began servicing our area and they are TRASH. Whereas pickup used to always be during the day on the same day on the same day of the week, now we never know when they will actually show up. Rather than pay workers higher wages, they've switched to a mechanical truck which none of the drivers know how to use properly. A few weeks ago my neighbor's garbage can was demolished. Today, I found my recycling can bent over without a wheel! I've seen them run into curbs in cul-de-sacs and similarly destroyed cans all over the community. Things don't get any better if you need extra service, like the removal of large items. The receptionist who covers that line hasn't emptied her voicemail, so if you want a response, you have to call five or six times until she actually picks up. What a joke! read more

Well, they wouldn't pick up the bags that had wood that I cut up and placed in bags which they had done many times- Left the full trash can as well since it had a small bag with wood as well. They wanted $20 for the truck to come around again. Weren't super nice about it either. read more

I was a customer of theirs for several years on my previous house and I never experienced any issues at all. Unfortunately, they don't seem to want my business now for my new house as the one time I've been able to get through the busy signal, I sat on hold for 30 minutes or so, then when someone finally picked up they couldn't hear me (supposedly) and hung up. I haven't been able to call them back because of the busy signal. I submitted a request on their site. If I don't get a response in 24 hours I'll probably go with a competitor. There is no shortage of garbage companies around here that will be glad to have my business UPDATE: turns out the busy signal was a problem with their phones that they didn't get fixed for couple of months. It may not be fixed now for all I know. Anyway, I called at exactly 8AM when they opened and got through. They charge extra now for recycling service, which I don't like and their prices are about the same as everyone else around, so if you have trouble getting through don't sweat calling someone else. So, they came on trash day, took my trash but didn't leave any cans. I had to call back (they seem to have fixed their phone problem because instead of a busy signal I was on hold for 30 minutes), and they delivered the cans the follow week - yes, new move in without garbage cans for 2 weeks, so had to pile our trash in the garage. Apparently, this is one of those companies that really couldn't care less about their customers. Red Oak Sanitation refused to put our empty trash can back on the driveway. Instead, they always dumped the can over onto the lawn where it would, rather quickly, burn the grass (see the photos). We showed the pictures and explained the problem to Red Oak manager Ron Cowart who agreed with us, laid down some lip service and ultimately blew us off. It actually doesn't require any more effort, on Red Oaks part, to set the can upright on the driveway than it does to dump it in the yard. So why then deliberately and repeatedly cause unsightly damage to a customers lawn? Because it isn't their lawn and they couldn't care less about their customers property. How do I know? Well, because Red Oak goes to great lengths to tell the customer exactly which way to face the cans and where to set the cans out for pickup. That self-serving action they can take the time to do. Conversely, the Red Oak recycle crew always neatly placed their can back on the driveway, so apparently the problem rests with Mr. Ron Cowart's inability to effectively manage customer issues. I recommend customers look for a different sanitation company; i did and no more burned grass. How simple was that? read more

I am going to make a guess that the satisfied people live in neighborhoods where cans are all lined up and roads aren't busy and the unsatisfied people live on main roads. We are on a main road. We've had about 3 pickups in about 2 months. We were so excited to finally have trash pickup. So far no dice as far as this goes. The weeks we had pickups were amazing...then, the weeks in between were a sad waiting and phone call game just watching our trash pile up. This doesn't go well in a house with 4 kids and two working parents. Problem is that we paid in advance. So they have our money and are not giving us service. It would be one thing if they reached out to let us know there was a problem. The way it stands they have stolen from us.
