I would recommend this business to anyone looking to scrap things as he seems to have a great handle on his business. Jeff took the time to message me on yelp after I posted the tip on it being tricky to navigate the street with the heavy customer truck traffic they have. His message to me showed that he is concerned about the impact his business has on the neighborhood and trying to make it better for all. There are other businesses on the street with truck traffic so this place isn't all to blame! At times it's very difficult to pass this business as trucks block the street while waiting or unloading scrap metal. Sometimes people stop in the middle of the street to unload. A suggestion to all who visit this place would be to remember you at most likely parking on a street used to access a neighborhood. Please be mindful of that and obey the "no parking" signs the business put up. It's difficult to see around the corner that this business located on, add parked trucks to the mix and it's impossible to see if someone is exiting the property while your coming around the corner. We are forced to take less work each day to because our trucks/trailers are now tied up for a ridiculous amount of time sitting in line. A bit tricky to find the drop off area - google gets you to the entrance no problem but then you need to follow the bright yellow Eco Depot signs. Super nice lady at the weigh station helped direct me. Did you know you can recycle used cooking oil?! Note: they recycle rigid and food packaging styrofoam (needs to be collected in clear plastic bags which Im unclear as to why, but I think they provide bags if needed). They don't take the squishy spongy kind of Styrofoam, and no packing peanuts.

I think I spent more money (and time) on cutting the tubes of metal into pieces that would fit into my car than what I was given. In total I had 450 pounds of metal and 14 pounds of aluminum and walked out with $19.50. I was expecting a little more. A dumpy place…read more Years ago this place would have been called a dump, now it's a recycling facility. Doesn't matter what they call it, it's still pretty dumpy. Dirty, stinky with piles of stuff everywhere, you will definitely need a shower after visiting this place. But then that's not necessarily a bad thing. Warwick likes to recycle and does a pretty damn good job of it. Over 10,000 tons of stuff like cans, bottles cardboard, electronics. plastic and even major appliances are collected and recycled. The town even makes most of the recycling painless and easy for it's people. Warwick has curb pickup for a lot of the crap but for certain items like yard waste or huge kitchen appliances it is sometimes easier just to bring the stuff to the recycling center yourself. Sure a it's dirty and stinky place but pretty cool in it's own way. Lots of stuff to look at and I always have fun there. Even though Warwick has a very commendable and aggressive recycling program it goes beyond just that. It lets residents come and take nice stinky compost for free. Every year we go and get several truck loads for our garden. Even though we have our own compost bin we just never seem to have enough of the stuff. Now we can get all we want. Recycling is a stinky and sometimes nasty job but so very, very necessary. Warwick makes the job easy with curbside pickup and the recycling center. Plus you can even get all the stinky compost you want. The world is a better because of dirty and stinky places like this.

The friendly staff are helpful and can point you in the right direction for what you need. There's an information desk to the left when you walk in and you can usually ask questions there, if there's no one there the cashiers can help. They do so many different things that I didn't know about - they rent power tools and it's super affordable (I rented a sander for 4 hrs for $10), they repair screen doors, they have garden supplies...the list goes on. I'm super happy with the repair they did on my screen door so I'm including a picture.

The till counter also looks like it has been there for years. The aisles are narrow and chock full of just about everything you could want. The staff are very friendly. There is a small parking area to the side of the building, but it's also right in Rolf Square, so easy to walk to if you live in the area. Definitely a must try and a great way to support a community shop.
