    Nice neighborhood hardware store on Rolf Square. They have nice helpful people that actually greet you when they see you. The store is two stories and it has a large selection of hardware supplies, do-it-yourself goodies and many other accessories used for home projects. The place feels very comfortable and very warm, as compared to mega superstores. Plenty of parking next to the store or on the street.

    How can you not give this place 5 stars?! This old-time hardware store is becoming a rare breed in this era of big-box home improvement stores. But, it offers something Homey Dopey often falls short on - service! Add a whole lot of tradition, too. The wood floors are traffic-worn and creaky, but that just adds to the aura of this place. I stopped by recently to buy a paintbrush, and instinctively, poked my head in the key department, hoping to see Mr. Durfee in his signature bow tie, even though it's been some years since I've seen him. Apparently, he has passed on, as someone else was working in there, but it was always cool to see him making keys well into his 80s (he may have even been pushing 90, I'm not sure). On the first floor, they have pretty well-stocked plumbing, electrical, garden and paint departments. Go up the stairs to the second floor, and you will find extensive hardware and tool departments. I purchased a heavy-duty Porter-Cable circular saw from them nearly 20 years ago, and that saw has served me very well. I pretty much know my way around a hardware store, but if you do need help, there are plenty of employees around to assist; they're always polite, too!

During that time, we faced ignored calls, poor workmanship, and no accountability. After months of frustration, Lowe's offered just $1,100--but only if we signed a nondisclosure and release that voided all warranties. --- Main Complaint (Condensed Review): We hired Lowe's Home Improvement for a simple 8-cabinet pull-and-replace kitchen project costing about $15,000. We were required to pay in full upfront in February, but the job was not completed until the end of October--over eight months later. During that time, we faced poor workmanship, repeated delays, missing materials, and unreturned calls. Lowe's stores and customer service appear to use caller ID; our calls, especially to the store, went unanswered. After more than a week of trying to reach the cabinet department, my husband went to the store, called from an aisle with a clear view, and watched employees look at the ringing phone and ignore it. When he asked for a manager, he was told the manager would be in his office all day and not speaking to anyone. After all this, Lowe's offered only $1,100 in compensation--but required us to sign a detailed nondisclosure and release of liability that would also void all warranties on our kitchen products. This was essentially an attempt to buy our silence about an entirely disastrous project. We find this unreasonable.     I wanted to get two O Cedar flip mops at Ace Hardware since I had a 25% off coupon. The website…read moresaid that this particular store in Bristol had 19 in inventory so we decided to go and get them. I could not get them online since the maximum was ONE mop per transaction. So we stopped at the store and went to the mop and broom section. No O Cedar flip mop to be found...when I asked one of the staff members about the item, I showed her the item on their Ace mobile app and she went on their system to check for inventory...she said, they had none in the store...but the mobile app said they did.... Confusing... She said, I can order from our warehouse and you might be able to pick up next week, I said, yes...so I can use my coupon. When she went to get the special order entered, the system said that they are no longer getting any more of these mops.... Weird how the mobile app inventory and the store inventories do not seem to talk to each other... Unfortunately we left the store empty handed....

We ordered online for sidewalk service after consulting multiple times with Ben via phone. We then placed three different orders and then called to add more. Ben brought everything out to the car and even took two remotes back in to replace the batteries. He was pleasant and friendly throughout this order process complicated by our repeated updates and changes. He is knowledgeable and helpful. We want to publicly commend Ben for his exemplary work.
