It is cool to pursue these shops and find the old remnants of the Victorian age and the west. I have lived here for 19 years, and this strip has changed. Recently, there have been tons of little great restaurants popping up (Maria Empanada, Adelito), very cool little bars ( Black Crown), Coffee shops (Corvus roasters) and also, well, lots of pot shops- can't say much about those. Also a bit of a sketch factor that is cleaning up, but still sketchy especially around Iowa St & Herman's Hideaway. Vintage and thrift shops abound along this strip as well- a great destination for your 1980's collecting is Fifty Two 80's A Totally Awesome Shop. For your costume needs, try Regal Vintage. I avoid Flossy McGrews, and it may even be gone. Terrifying store. But that's the fun of it! We've also purchased paintings, metal prints, holiday decor, and more; every item reflects thoughtful craftsmanship. Beyond the products, the Cleveland family has been warm, helpful, and easy to work with. They build locally and work directly with customers to create custom pieces--if you don't see exactly what you want, they'll make it. I've never had an issue with anything I've bought, but I know they stand behind their work and will help find a solution if needed. Cleveland Creek Lodge and Log Furniture has been building custom, hand-crafted furniture out of native Aspen, Beetle Kill Pine, Barn wood, and Juniper since 2001!!
