For an app we ordered a giant pretzel and it was delicious. Whole grain mustard and gooey cheese were served on the side. Hard not to want to eat more than one. For entrees I went with a Reuben with a side of tater tots. The Reuben was tasty, they shred the corned beef up so it's easier to eat, and you get consistent bites every time. Their 1000 island dressing is KILLER. It's definitely homemade and I ordered a side for my tots. Nephew got the salmon BLT with sweet potato fries, and my brother got the Philly cheesesteak with tots as well. Once he tried my suggestion of dipping in the dressing, he got a side as well. The GM Andrew came by and checked on us. Service level is great here, made us feel welcome and happy we were in here. Since I'm technically on the clock I had to head out after two ciders. Unfortunately, the service has consistently been incredibly SLOW, and this last visit was unacceptable. The restaurant wasn't busy at all--we were the first guests to arrive. In fact, I purposely planned it that way because I know the service is usually slow. We timed everything because it was so noticeable. It took about 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Then another 5-10 minutes just to receive our drinks. Our server took our order and then completely disappeared. About 30 minutes later, she brought our sandwiches. She asked if we needed anything else, and then disappeared again. We finished eating in about 15-20 minutes, and after that, we waited another 40-45 minutes before she came back. From the moment she dropped off our food until we finally saw her again, it had been about 45-50 minutes. During that entire time, she never checked on us once. We had planned to order dessert, but by the time she returned, we couldn't wait any longer. We had to ask for a to-go box and the check because we were already running late. Looking around the restaurant, we weren't the only frustrated customers. One gentleman nearby was visibly upset as well. For three sandwiches, our meal took almost two hours. That's just crazy. It's simply not reasonable. It's disappointing because the food is excellent, but the service has become such a recurring issue that it's making us question whether we'll come back. A restaurant this small should be be able to provide a much better dining experience. I honestly can't think of a good explanation unless the server was also hosting, cooking, preparing to-go orders, or doing multiple jobs at once. We found elderflower liquor (we'd been to two other liquor stores for it with no luck) and they recommended a bottle of Pinot to have with dinner. The cashier and his brother are very nice, they know their selection very well and give great recommendations!! They have some AMAZING deals going on right now on vapes, definitely go take advantage while the deal is available!! The new store is very clean, well organized, will definitely be my new go-to liquor store before spending a day on the lake with family!
