Met a friend for dinner and beer. We sat outside on the covered patio which was great. I enjoyed watching the people go by and the sun set as evening came on. Our table slanted down a bit, and that was a little awkward but the benefit was that condensation rolled to the end instead of into our laps. Also my chair had two metal dog bowls underneath that made a racket whenever I moved the chair. Our server was friendly but over shared often. For my meal I had the salmon with bourbon glaze. It was cooked properly and had good flavor. The lettuce leaf under it was different; I think I could have done without. The fish came with my choice of two sides and I picked the green beans and the cornbread stuffing. Both were quite salty. The green beans were not very green and overcooked. There were two elbow macaroni mixed in. The cornbread was mushy and covered in gravy. It tasted fine, I just would have preferred more texture. Both beers were very good. I had a sour to start that was like a very tart pink lemonade. The pink color came from blueberries but I'm not sure I detected any blueberry flavor. My second beer was That Coconut Porter and it was mellow and smooth with good coconut flavor and nice dark color. There was lots of street parking and many shops and restaurants in the area. A band began playing in the taproom next to the restaurant at some time. Also a large outdoor space that was full of kids running around playing as I was going home. We have been coming here for years for our weekend brunches. Inside tables are just as great as outside patio tables. During the fall, the football games are on and you don't miss anything! The service has always been laidback, genuine & friendly. The coffee is good!! We have tried all kinds of menu items, brunch & lunch. Something for everyone. Only two minutes from our grandson's football game field, we found this suburban gem! The restaurant was clean and open and I'd be happy to sit inside if the weather had not been so fabulous. They have outdoor tables that have different amounts of sun, so you can find a great outdoor seat. We started with an amazing spicy Bloody Mary, well dressed with olives, pepperoncini, and lime and an Oktoberfest. Had a fried green tomato Benedict and a smoked salmon Benedict. The food was beautifully presented and tasted delicious and wholesome. Finished with a West LA Hopaway IPA and a Bobby and the 3 bears IPA - both really great IPAs. We stopped here after our daughter's soccer game on a Saturday. Parking in the garage was easier than most lots. While the restaurant was busy, we were promptly seated. The staff was attentive and hustling (felt like they may have been down a server). We started with the Hofer's German style pretzel, waters and Octoberfest beers. After devouring the pretzel, we ordered the Margherita flatbread pizza, chicken wings and Greek salad w grilled chicken. While waiting, we enjoyed people watching and just being present with each other. All the food was made and presented well. Me and the family stopped into Cherry Street Brewing after a soccer tournament. It was a fin place with a laid back atmosphere with good service. We were quickly seated even though we were a larger party and the waitress was super nice and quick. We ordered wings, fries and beer and every thing came out really good. There was a nice variety of beers to choose from. I forgot the name but I took advantage of the barrel aged stout which did not disappoint. I could only muscle through one though. read more

My family went here recently and we are so glad that we did. Everyone loved their dishes. I got mild buffalo wings. I liked that I could (for $2 more) request all flats. I am not exaggerating that those wings were some of the best I have ever had anywhere. They were crisp on the outside but very moist and juicy inside. The sauce was the perfect amount (not dripping on your hands) and had great flavor, even with mild as I requested. My son in law got a NY Strip sandwich and loved it. My wife got the glazed salmon and she said it was delicious. Chicken fingers were also a hit at our table. Another nice thing is the prices were reasonable, especially to be in Vickery Village. Service was excellent, too! We will definitely be going back to this place. read more

We really enjoyed this place! The inside was full so we sat outside. We had the Smoke Salmon starter and it was really good. My girls shared a kids burger with green beans and it's a very good sized portion. My husband had a steak and liked it. I had the Dirty Bird Chicken Sandwich with a side salad and it was great! After having a long day at work we decided to go here tonite. We were seated promptly. Our server was very nice. Unfortunately, we didn't have the same good experience with the food. Although there weren't many people in the restaurant since it was only 6:30, it took quite a while to get our food. I ordered a burger well done. When it came out it was barely medium. The food was sent back and I requested another burger. In the mean time my husband had to eat his meal so it wouldn't get cold. I decided to get my food to go. When I got home and opened my meal, the bun was burnt and the fries that they included were obviously reheated and not very good. read more

We have lived in the Vickery Village area for over thirteen years now. We had never tried Cherry Street Brewing/Tanners. We were really interested in making a visit and trying the place tonight. We all checked the menu over before we came and everyone had their choice selected. We were greeted and seated right away. We came shortly after 5 pm. The outdoor seating was busy and only a couple of tables inside were occupied. We were seated inside. It took over 10 minutes for a server to take our drink order. We had to ask for a server and they found our server standing at the servers station chatting with the other servers. The service was just absent. My mom was so excited to try the turkey dinner! It was our deciding factor to try the restaurant. The server even spoke highly of the turkey dinner when asked about her favorites. The picture below shows the wreck of a dinner plate. The turkey was thin and dry. The gravy was too salty and gelatinous, the beans were soupy and the stuffing resembled stove top stuffing. It was very disappointing for a community staple. If you want a place to have drinks, the sangria was amazing! I don't recommend bringing a hungry family. read more

I'm not a beer drinker, as any of y'all might have gathered by any of my reviews thus far, but that hasn't never stopped me from hitting up a good brewery for food and fun. Also, as I am typically never in Cumming, this location never even came across my radar until it was brought up as a location for a girls' brunch. I didn't have much in the way of expectations, as brunch can go one of two ways, either you love it (or were blitzed and thought you loved it), or it was just okay. Luckily, this place is pretty solid, and we all seemed to love it enough to choose it as a place to come back to. The mimosas and belinis are a great size, and can be a heavy pour, so don't go too crazy when ordering (unless you're joining the blitzed and loving it crowd). I'm going to say this twice, so listen well -- Don't sleep on the chicken and waffles. I REPEAT, DON'T SLEEP ON THE CHICKEN AND WAFFLES. It's a great combo and they do it up right with a raspberry coulis. I've had it twice now, and would highly recommend it. I know others had more skillet-type meals and loved them as well, but c'mon... you're in fried chicken country. Get it!! read more

We have lived in the are for over 6 years. We moved from Chicagoland. We love beer. One of the first breweries my husband took me to was Cherry Street. I was so amazed! How can a brewery have a barrel aged stout on tap in August?!! I knew we would have to live close by. For all of the years we have lived in Cumming, Cherry Street has been my most visited brewery. If you love great beer, run don't walk to Cherry Street. There are three locations now. Vickery, Halcyon and Northshore in Chattanooga. We have joined the mug club and the Barrel Society. Cherry Street just celebrated their 10th Anniversary and there are VERY SPECIAL collaboration beers on tap from other well known GA breweries. Rick Tanners is next door and provides classic pub fare to go with the award winning beer. We attend the annual festivals (Spring Fest) and Beer Dinners. One memorial event was the Whistle Pig Tasting. There was a Bacon Flight with it!! Oh. Boy. Bacon and Rye go hand in hand. There is a full bar too if your palate lends itself to wine and liquor. Wifi needs to be stronger but that does not stop me from getting there weekly. There is trivia on Tuesday too. It's Dirty if you know what I mean. Have a great time. read more

First off, make this a stop on your brewery tours of Georgia! By far one of the better ones I've been to with great options. My buddy and I decided to head up this way to try them out this past weekend. I had already sampled some of their beers at the Barley Garden & Kitchen at the Avalon, so I knew we were going to be in for a treat. This place is up in Cumming and it's certainly off the beaten path, but I loved the location and laid back atmosphere it exuded. It was certainly not what I was expecting in a very good way. Most breweries I've been too are either too loud, not loud enough, too packed or not a great assortment of beers. This brewery sits in a boutique shopping complex and it almost gives off a very home town style restaurant vibe. I loved it, seeing I have some country in me. They have two parts to the brewery: one part is an actual restaurant and the other is the brewery/bar. We grabbed a table outside under the shaded awning and browsed the menu. I saw one couple had a flight of beer in front of them, and I got giddy seeing that and the list of options. Folks, they have something for everybody ... barrel aged, ales, IPAs, gluten-free, wheat, saisons, hefeweizens, kolschs, blondes, pilsner, etc. They even have wine and mixed drinks, thanks to their restaurant. I ordered a flight and got the: Hammered Monkey, Damebier, Black Currant, Fuzzy Frenchman and Bourbon Barrel Biere De Garde. My least favorite was the black currant ... it did have a black currant flavor to it, tied in with a hint of apple smell on top and fresh lakewater (yes, it's odd but in a good way). I enjoyed everything else but of course the Bourbon Barrel was my favorite of them all. I ended up getting a full pour of the Boss-MI Blueberry to finish it all off with. I'm not a fan of IPAs that much but that one was a winner. We got there around 3 or so w/ no crowd on a Saturday, and by the time we left, it was fully packed out. You can find Cherry Street Brewing in Cumming (and yeah I can hear you snicker) Georgia at 5813 S Vickery St, Cumming, GA 30040. Having spent some time there, I can say that there's currently not much to see in the area. Parking is plentiful out front, to the side (it's on a corner, sort of) or down the other areas in front of shops but you may have to walk a bit, as this brewery is very popular. I first came across Cherry Street having sampled a Chief Sawnee's Coconut Porter many years ago - I really didn't know anything about the brewery but knew right away that this porter was special and would frequently claim it to be the best beer brewed locally, at least at the time. Since then there are many, many contenders but as of around 2015 this was still true - I think of it as the start of the "real" craft brew scene in Atlanta (and yes I know of several that have been around much longer) but I'm thinking about relatively small batches being made for keg distribution only - Cherry Street was (unconfirmed) probably still in that Nano-to-Craft transition category at that time. I next saw the same beer with one other at a Beer Festival (don't remember which one) being poured from a tapped job box (I still have the stickers they were handing out) and then it started showing up at the various bars I frequently visited. The first time I visited the brewery, I decided to drive up from my then job near 400 and perimeter - I think it took about 45 minutes with some traffic. Two things I remember: 1. ) Driving into the middle of nowhere - really, you come off 400 and go through big expanses of nothing then finally hit a few elementary schools before coming to Vickery St (which leads you into the shopping center) - I kept thinking that I was lost or that Maps was directing me wrong or something. 2.) The taproom was closed - this was pretty early and they had limited days/hours. Luckily I was able to go to Tanner's next door and enjoy a couple of flights (The Tanner's own both the Brewery and Pub). I found out later that this was the same Tanner's that used to be closer in as a rotisserie chicken place - from what I remember, I've visited one of those locations back in the day and liked the chicken quite a bit. In any case, the taproom is something special, with a space that runs into a long room and a bar to the left. There's a newly opened (at least for me) area to the right full of barrels and extra seating plus a decent patio for drinking and watching the the locals shop. There's a well trained and knowledgeable crew pouring beers and providing advise on what to drink next. There's a clipboard available with 25 or so things on draft with a bottle list and maybe a guest tap or two. The beers here are extremely tasty, have great variety and a bit of experimentation - overall I can't think of one that I didn't at least find palatable, with most being exceptional. According to Untapped, I've had 25 different beers from this brewery so I won't bother to list them all - you'll need to come by and sample them yourself. You'll be glad you did - just make sure you have time to do a couple of flights and grab a bite next door before leaving - or even better, have a designated driver - it really is in the middle of nowhere. Not bad. Came here for a wedding rehearsal dinner in the rented side room. The service was top notch. The drinks were also pretty tasty. The food was just meh. Had prime rib, chicken piccata, potatoes and Caesar salad in a buffet style dinner. I'm not sure if the wedding catered the food in, or if this is from the restaurant on site, but I wasn't impressed. We stopped by for a couple of after dinner drinks this past Friday. We were greeted with very nice and engaging bartenders so we ordered a round, and then found a high top table that only had 2 barstools and we needed four. We approached the bartenders to ask if we could move 2 barstools from the bar to our high top to which they responded "yes of course". While I was walking my barstool to the high top, a man comes up to me and goes "seriously?". My first assumption was that he was sitting at the bar so I asked if it was his seat and apologized and started walking it back and then he goes "no, it's my bar." Confused and apologetic, we told him that we would return the barstools and said that we asked his bartenders and they said yes. He rolled his eyes and walked away from us, and then 2 minutes later he comes back and scolds us for taking the barstools. What difference does it make if a paying customer is sitting at the bar versus a table? Confused, we returned the barstools to the bar and went to go sit at a different table. About 10 minutes later he came to our table and brought us water, unsolicited and apologized for being a jerk. We stuck around for the sake of not letting him ruin our Friday night, but he ensured that we will never be here again. read more

We really liked this place. We sat at the bar, which is apparently the most fun. Bartenders were cool, beer was unique and, aside from having to order food from next door, it was a great experience. They've got a wide range of beers to choose from, all of which were fun to try. I think we spent over $80 for two people for food and drinks, but we stayed for about three hours. Anyway, it was fun. We hosted our rehearsal dinner at Cherry Street Taproom and it was everything we could've asked for and more! Hannah helped us tremendously by planning the perfect evening. They coordinated everything from food and drinks to decorations and flowers. We chose plated options of salmon or pork tenderloin with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everyone enjoyed each option as well as the appetizers that were served before. The staff throughout the evening was kind and tended to every need our guests had. I love love LOVE this place! If you enjoy breweries, this is absolutely one you need to put on your list . It's an awesome place to get a beer, or 5, and just hang out and relax. You could easily spend 3-4 hours there. There's always at least 20 beers, always on tap and there's always something new to try(I just said always a lot but it's true). Cherry Street also has their regulars, Hammered Monkey is my favorite. Another must try is the Nitro Coconut porter and because it's nitro it's extremely smooth and an easy stout to drink(only the nitro though). They offer flights, growlers and an assortment of cocktails(which I've never tried because I go for the beer) and because it's connected to Rick Tanners next door, you can go grab some food and bring it back to Cherry Street to eat. I also love that they always support a charity and there's one or two beers that the proceeds go towards that. It really is a great atmosphere and the fact that the beer selection is constantly changing makes each trip there an exciting adventure. The staff is friendly and service is usually pretty quick. This really is one of my favorite places to go ****I also want to note that they have some of the best restrooms I've ever seen. Here we are...one year later celebrating our anniversary again. While we come here weekly, who knew that on this date a year ago was when I tried Porter for the first time?!?! So glad I did...it's my absolute fav We love the expansion so that there is more seating. Found this gem on the way home from Tennessee and wanted a good porter or stout beer. It was only 10 minutes out of the way and well worth it. Got the OASIS! (Old as shit Imperial Stout). Best ever. I'll start out by saying their Coconut Porter is amazing. We've had it several times from here, and even anti-porter peeps love it. However, the bar itself is not worth going to. We came by on a nice day, and almost every table on the inside was reserved. It was really busy, but fortunately a table opened up on the patio, so we jumped to get a seat (there's no host-seating is a first-come, first-serve basis). Two servers saw us go and sit, and no one came by. They didn't bring us menus, they didn't say they'd be with us in a minute, they didn't clear the table, nothing. We tried flagging down about three different people, and they all intentionally avoided eye contact. It's not that big, they only serve beer so it's not like anyone has a complicated order, and there were FOUR servers running around outside. So, about 30 minutes later, one member of our party went inside to order. They gave us "12 oz" cups, but unlike everyone else's, they were plastic, and someone eventually told us they were the same size as the glasses. False. We finally got a glass and poured it into a plastic one, and there is a HUGE difference. The plastic cup only holds about 2/3 of the glass, and we were charged full price on all of those. At the end of our visit, we had gotten helped by two people-one who was annoyed we were there, and another who came in later who was great, and actually noticed we had plastic cups and thought it was weird but figured we'd requested them. Going forward, we'll just get our growlers of Coconut porter to go. read more
