Good for me because Dog Training is crazy expensive I noticed ( so expensive that I m going to become a dog trainer in my next life!!!) This place is different Gail tries to make dog training affordable and fun. First I went to puppy class, every Saturday for $10 a mixed puppy class with socialization training and simple tasks for owners and dogs alike. This is a hands on place , the dog is not getting "fixed" you learn how to work with the animal and what to do in any situation. After that I went to "manners 1" a six week course where you meet once weekly and work with your animal . The classes are small the place is big with a large agility area , a playground and a piece of forest to walk in. There are all kind of fun things offered Agility Training, Treibball and ongoing Manners classes up to training for service dogs. Gail is full of knowledge gives you direct feedback if you call her and a certificate after a successfully finished "Manners" class. The approach is gentle with lots of treats, no yelling no "NO" it's about leading the dog in the right direction, about being smart with the opportunists they are and build a beautiful and trusting relationship. No big deal , however when we picked up our seven month old puppy he told us that that she was now considered an adult. The price was crazy and he provided a service that we did ask for as I had never heard of that type of service. I did receive a call from Brian the manager immediately as I responded to a survey they sent me. joanne, the assistant manager followed up with me, was very apologetic and refunded the service that I did not ask for and charged me the regular price. we will still purchase from that Petsmart store and do the next level training. James has an intuit sense of canine behavior and a keen sensitivity regarding how to balance gentle behavior guidance in alignment with modification techniques. James impressed us with his professionalism & compassion, plus his extensive knowledge and skill. The man knows his business, speaks his mind with respect, and has proven to be invaluable to us as we continue working toward our goal of a Good Citizenship Certification.
