Just had our daughters wedding at red barn ranch yesterday. I cannot thank Kris and Rachael enough. Their beautiful ranch was perfect for her special day. They were more than helpful and very easy to work with. There is nothing you can do to improve this beautiful ranch. Add flowers food and drinks and you're set. I can't wait to see the professional pictures. I received so many complaints on this venue. It was so nice to know that Rachael was just a text or call away if we needed anything. I would NOT hesitate again to have another party here. Simply amazing. Thanks again Rachael and Kris.

I just had my wedding here this past Saturday. It was a cool 111 Degrees outside which was just plain bad luck for us. Chris and Rachel were accommodating. One thing I would suggest is to make sure you get receipts up front for all your payments because there was a lack of a paper trail at one point. The venue is beautiful. One friendly critique would be to work on the lawn a bit. My biggest issue was the vendor list that was provided. I had a huge issue with the catering, and the wedding coordinator. The caterer delivered raw chicken and several guests got sick including children, and Samantha from Your day Events was hired on as my wedding coordinator and did no coordinating. I had to work/coordinate my entire wedding up until cutting the cake because Samantha was running to get ice the whole time which any of my guests would have done for free. Obviously I do not hold RBR accountable but I do recommend getting second opinions on the vendor list. Chris assured me both businesses would be taken off their vendor list as well. Again Red Barn Ranch was great and will recommend for sure. Its a beautiful location and Chris and Rachael were helpful. There is very little decoration needed since the location is so pretty. Wish it had not been 111 degrees on my wedding day but no one can control that!

Post wedding at the perfect location and day. We love you Red Barn /Rorabaugh's

Looking for the best barn wedding extravaganza ,you are at the right place. It's been eight months since our daughters wedding and people are still talking about their day. As a nervous mother to the bride I was quickly put to ease by the professional experience of our event host. Everything we dreamed up was mirrored and brought to life by Rachel's expertise. The Rorabaugh's facilitated all the details without flaw and all behind the scenes. We felt at home and in control of all our own plans. The clean beautiful grounds and facility could be nothing less than serene and comfortable. It's a barn and lives up to it's name. My eclectic, bohemian princess married her Cowboy and all these personalities were met. Thank you for everything and for the extravagant wedding that will go down in history for all those that attended. I recommend this facility over anything I researched or imagined. If you can dream it you can bring it to life at the Hopland Red Barn. They have the slate and you brush in the moment. Gracious Tracy McMahan

One of the other huge pluses about the property is the on site lodging. There is a mansion with pool, a 3 bed 3 bath house and a studio casita. All the homes have bbqs and hot tubs. It's ultra-modern, dark, sparsely furnished & echo-ey. Out of charecter for Mendo county & emotionally alienating. I like almost all Mendocino county wines. And I like most Jeriko bottles. Especially when you consider that Jeriko wine is "organic". And my experience with all the organic wines here in NorCal is that they suck! Rough textures, green tannic flavors, headache city. Should just sell them for ethanol fuel production. I will say that my favorite Jeriko wine is the sparkler. But as pointed out by many other Yelpers, Jeriko wines are overpriced. I did not buy any wine here.

But not to be as it appears that the secret is out and that this little known town up the 101 is hot Yelp review site. I wasn't born in Hopland, but was raised here from the time I was 3 till I left for college so my love for my hometown runs deep. It's not a true tourist magnet and this sleepy little town lacks some of the big city or more touristy spots offerings. No, there are no 5 star restaurants or resorts here. But what you will find is a town filled with some very nice locals who welcome you with open arms. The wine in the area is not "world class", but it's red and white enough to wet your whistle. My former elementary school closed it's doors a few years ago, but the buildings still stand and my fond memories forever remain. If you find yourself heading north (or south) on the 101, do yourself a favor and stop by my favorite small town in America. If you're hungry, you can pop into the Buebird Cafe for an old school breakfast.

Hopland has less than 800 residents according to wikipedia, but the locals told me it has less than 600. Now, I have been to quite a few small towns in my time. My dad is from a town of about 1,300 people. Hopland has less than half that and easily a million times more charm. (That's saying a lot considering there's a street in my dad's hometown that is named after my great-grandfather.) Everyone we met during our weekend excursion to Hopland was genuinely so nice to us. I think they are sincerely pleased as punch that anyone comes to visit. I can hardly wait to go back. Much love Hopland. Much love.
