PERFECTION!! Rachael and Kris are amazing and easy to work with. I can not put into words how beautiful this venue is. The landscape was breathtaking. Every single person at the wedding complimented us on the venue and kept asking us how we found it, lol. We used one of the large lawn areas for our ceremony, which worked out great for the transition into the covered lawn area for our dinner. We got the venue for 3 days and I'm sooo glad we did because that made set-up super easy and stress free. The barn also had a cute little suite for the groom but let me tell you about the bridal suite! Sheesh! It was like large two bedroom apartment, lol. So much natural light, a large comfy bed in the main bedroom, full kitchen, and a large jacuzzi tub. They had lawn games on-site as well as a huge fire pit (perfect for that s'mores station, lol) located near the separate bar area. Just had our daughters wedding at red barn ranch yesterday. I cannot thank Kris and Rachael enough. Their beautiful ranch was perfect for her special day. They were more than helpful and very easy to work with. There is nothing you can do to improve this beautiful ranch. Add flowers food and drinks and you're set. I can't wait to see the professional pictures. I received so many complaints on this venue. It was so nice to know that Rachael was just a text or call away if we needed anything. I just had my wedding here this past Saturday. It was a cool 111 Degrees outside which was just plain bad luck for us. Chris and Rachel were accommodating. One thing I would suggest is to make sure you get receipts up front for all your payments because there was a lack of a paper trail at one point. The venue is beautiful. One friendly critique would be to work on the lawn a bit. My biggest issue was the vendor list that was provided. I had a huge issue with the catering, and the wedding coordinator. The caterer delivered raw chicken and several guests got sick including children, and Samantha from Your day Events was hired on as my wedding coordinator and did no coordinating. I had to work/coordinate my entire wedding up until cutting the cake because Samantha was running to get ice the whole time which any of my guests would have done for free. Obviously I do not hold RBR accountable but I do recommend getting second opinions on the vendor list. Chris assured me both businesses would be taken off their vendor list as well. Again Red Barn Ranch was great and will recommend for sure. Its a beautiful location and Chris and Rachael were helpful. There is very little decoration needed since the location is so pretty. Wish it had not been 111 degrees on my wedding day but no one can control that! read more

10,000 stars! Kris and Rachael are amazing! Always a text or call away, checking in, and making sure you have anything and everything you need for your big weekend. The venue is a dream and pictures will never do it justice. Just had our wedding there a couple of days ago and it was a dream wedding. The ranch does all the work and you just need to add your tables,chairs, food and drinks. Guests couldn't believe we found such a beautiful place. The fact that you get it for almost the entire weekend, you can bring in your own vendors and aren't tied down, and there are bridal and groom suites onsite made it so easy for my bridal party and family to just stay on site the whole time. The bridal party never wanted to leave, we had game night Friday night under the stars and lights and it made the wedding weekend even more magical and stress free to not be worries about being cleaned and out Saturday night. I could go on and on for days but this place is just out of a dream and our wedding felt like a vacation at the ranch. Come Sunday afternoon we didn't want to leave and we are already wanting to find a reason to come back because we just can't get enough of this place read more

Since I am forced to give at least one star, I will say that the property is beautiful and Kris was very nice and laid-back. Beyond that, I cannot recommend this place- especially during a global pandemic. We booked our wedding in March of 2020, when COVID was just getting started. We were excited to find a venue that could hold 200+ people for the entire weekend. We checked in with Rachael several times in the months that followed to touch base about restrictions in the Hopland area. On one phone call, Rachael mentioned she was working on some updates to their contract to cover COVID-related issues, as well as elopement packages which might include a weekend stay on the property, a small socially distanced ceremony with 6 people, food arranged from local restaurants for the bride and groom over the weekend, etc. In October (7 months out from our wedding), Rachael sent out an email to all of her clients, with a new contract that increased in size from about 7 pages, to 15 pages and several addendums and policy enhancements that were not included in the original contract. This was a huge red flag, as the new contract locked clients into new terms with a point of no return after 9 months prior to the event date (since it was sent 7 months out from our event, that meant we were essentially stuck if we signed it). It is also not legal to require clients to sign a new contract after they have already entered into a prior agreement. The COVID-19 addendum was the only item that remotely protected their clients, stating that if the event needed to be rescheduled or cancelled due to COVID-related concerns, the event could be rescheduled in 2021 with no penalty, or 2022 but you would be subject to their increased rates. However, they were still going to keep the $3,000 deposit, even if they did not provide any services whatsoever. In November we requested a phone call with Rachael to discuss county regulations, what the possibilities were looking like for weddings in the spring, and to discuss our options. During this phone call she said the county was still only allowing small gatherings (25 or less) for ceremonies only- no dinner, no reception, nothing else. She said she was hopeful things would advance, but that it's hard to say. We asked her what other dates she had open for 2021 for us to reschedule to, because they were offering for couples to reschedule without penalty in 2021, but she said they were completely booked for the rest of the season in 2021. At this point we told her we feel we have no other choice but to cancel the wedding, because there is no way county regulations would open up enough to host a wedding of our size as originally contracted, nor would we feel safe doing so. Rachael suggested the elopement package, but we said if we decided to elope down the road, we would likely do it somewhere like Yosemite that has special meaning to us, but there was no plan for elopement, as we were still hoping to have a large wedding down the road as originally planned. She told us we would not be getting our deposit back, so we suggested taking her up on the "getaway" portion of the elopement package, where we stay on the property for our wedding weekend and just relax and have a special weekend on what would have been our wedding weekend. At least with this option we would receive "something" for our $3,000 (although she did say there was no longer food included in the package, so basically we are paying $3,000 to stay on the Ranch with nothing else included, when we could spend the same at a 4-star resort and have a luxurious getaway). We left the phone call agreeing to this option - we would stay our wedding weekend on the property and cancel our large event since there was no available 2021 date to reschedule to. A few days later Rachael sent us an email asking if we would move our "getaway weekend" to an off-season weekend to allow her to book our wedding weekend with another couple because she was receiving "tons of inquiries for micro-events". Basically she was saying she would have NO PROBLEM re-booking our wedding weekend and recouping costs from another couple, while also keeping our deposit. Good business would have been to say, "We don't normally return deposits, but since I am able to easily re-book your date, here is half/all of your deposit back". That is a win/win during an incredibly emotionally and financially devastating time, and would have left us totally happy and still able to recommend them to future clients. Unfortunately, Rachael still refuses to refund any of our deposit, completely twisted our conversations to make it seem like we had cancelled our wedding in order to elope in Yosemite and not due to COVID, and when we pushed back on it, suddenly came up with available dates in 2021 pending other couples cancelling. Our advice to anyone considering this venue: look elsewhere in Hopland where better business is being conducted. read more

As a nervous mother to the bride I was quickly put to ease by the professional experience of our event host. Everything we dreamed up was mirrored and brought to life by Rachel's expertise. The Rorabaugh's facilitated all the details without flaw and all behind the scenes. We felt at home and in control of all our own plans. The clean beautiful grounds and facility could be nothing less than serene and comfortable. It's a barn and lives up to it's name. My eclectic, bohemian princess married her Cowboy and all these personalities were met. My husband and I got married at Red Barn Ranch in September of 2018. It was THE PERFECT venue! What we loved most was that we had the space from Friday morning until Sunday afternoon. We had plenty of time to set up and break down, all while being able to enjoy our wedding day, stress free! Rachel is amazing and so helpful. We visited the venue several times before the wedding and she was always accommodating and happy to have us. She's thorough when providing information and we knew fully what to expect. We had around 30 wedding guests camp out on the lawn or bring motor homes and park in the parking lot. This was the best! We stayed in the bridal suite and got to enjoy a huge breakfast with many of our guests the next day, so it really was a whole weekend event for everyone. Bathrooms are clean, supplies is stocked, they provide tables, they let you use vendors of your choice... I could just go on for days about all of the perks. My one and only venue I looked at! They allow one dog for your wedding day, you can camp on site, beer/wine only, music till 11:30pm and the owners are SUPER cool. You also get to make the venue your own by bringing in your own alcohol, decorations, vendors, etc. Their is also a large firepit that it lit by the owners at nighttime which is a super fun addition. Also, there are two rooms you can stay in while you are there for your allotted time from 9am Friday- 3pm on Sunday. It is SO nice to have the venue for the whole weekend. Beautiful venue. Fair priced considering you and your guests are welcome to stay over night. Other venues we considered did not allow over night and were way more over priced. We loved having our wedding at the Red Barn Ranch! The property is wonderfully landscaped and very lovingly cared for. The fact that the venue is provided from Friday to Sunday was a huge plus. The owners were great to work with and very responsive for any questions or concerns we had. Only reason for not 5 stars was the lack of lighting in the parking area for guests when leaving (something I heard from guests) and the inside area has a really difficult and ugly stage area that clashed with plans and decor. Also unfortunately, something they can't really help, there are really no great accommodations for guests nearby. No matter what, unless they camp on the ranch, they will have a drive, even from the neighboring towns if there is availability. Unfortunately most of my guests couldn't get accommodations and had to travel for hours, and that meant most had to leave earlier than we wanted. Really sad to turn around and realize most your guests left to "get on the road" before scheduled activities. Though the owners do the best they can with what is available like providing information on local accommodations and vendors when booking, and by allowing for tent or dry rv camping in the parking lot. It really is a beautiful location, and it's wonderful to use a family owned and operated venue. read more
