There was some construction happening during our visit, so it wasn't quite as peaceful as usual, but the workers were extremely friendly and respectful, which definitely made up for it. The trails are well-kept, the air feels so fresh, and the setting is perfect for anyone who loves nature, photos, or just getting away for a bit. Overall, a really lovely experience. My partner likes the wet and dry saunas in the winter, and I see many folks going into the cold plunge afterwards. My favorite spot to relax is the single tubs on the upper patio, as I enjoy looking at the trees in the daytime and stars at night.

The roads were a bit bumpy but nothing we couldn't handle. Restrooms were well maintained. We didn't use the showers, but it was nice knowing we had the option if needed... and it seemed like they were nice and hot since other guests were using them and the mirrors were fogging up (not complaining). We did notice a lot of brush piles, so hopefully they are actively taking care of the forest to prevent forest fires. Loved that we weren't too far from the beaches and enjoyed a day at Fort Bragg. We will definitely return.

Morning drive to Mendocino made us make a pit stop at Hendy Woods State Park as we heard there were beautiful spots of Redwoods that we must check out before going on our way. Pay fee was $8 dollars to get in which wasn't the worst but as we kept driving, we got a little worried about where the Redwoods were as a portion of the drive looked pretty sparse & dry. But worry not, once we got very deep into the drive near the end where the hike begins, the trees started popping up everywhere! Trail was clean and so much greenery everywhere, from the tall Redwoods to the short ferns growing all over the place. We stumbled upon a massive felled Redwood tree which was perfect for photo captures. This place is a perfect spot to stop by if you want to spend a couple of hours soaking in the fresh air and nature!

Too expensive for a 7 hour "day pass" and definitely to overnight with two night minimum and super high prices. No cold plunge (it's a small tub with cold water dripping in but gets almost luke warm as the day progresses) so you can't do hot cold therapy. The pool is also not a "cold plunge" and smells like chlorine, anyway. The water is way too strong, it burns off a layer of skin. Super drying also. Didn't feel like just hanging out and relaxing either time. The water therapy doesn't feel as effective without a cold plunge. Really nice kitchen and indoor spaces. Those are the strengths.

Pool manager Claire frequently singles us out (phone use today, our daughter with pool noodles, snacks/drinks placement) while other kids build slides out of floats and noodles. She also overlooks shouting, rough play, and other prohibited behaviors. Other staff don't enforce these rules. We support fair rules for everyone's comfort and safety. When applied unevenly by one person, it detracts from the relaxing experience. We hope management retrains the team on consistent enforcement and hospitality so we can continue visiting regularly. Amber, the weekend manager, was amazing at getting us settled - the first caravan we were in had a minor issue with water pressure, but Amber got us moved to fully functioning unit in no time (and even offered to help schlep our stuff!). We slept like logs listening to the creek gently babbling all night, and the STARS at night! Amazing! The variety of water temps is fantastic, the steam room and dry sauna are ideal, and the locker rooms are new and roomy. We'll be back!

I expressed my concern with the front desk, and the gal there (didn't catch her name, but she had blonde hair) did not even hesitate and said "I got you!" She switched us to a nicer room in a quiet corner since they had availability and it made ALL the difference. I slept well and enjoyed my entire visit. We played ping pong, they have bocce ball courts, tried to ride bikes (we need more practice), corn hole and some axe throwing / bullseye game. They also had fire pits, lots of outdoor seating and water fountains galore; definitely added to the peaceful ambiance. Of course we came for the mineral pool and showers, but it was a nice surprise to find these other activities. Overall, we will be back and will ask for the quiet corner we were given. 5 out of 5 stars!

We parked at the lot along the road and then crept down the craggy, crumbling, nearly vertical litter-strewn trail. At last, we found a tiny flat spot where we were able to lean against the rocks and write out our last wills and testaments before stumbling upon the musty skeleton of some poor sap who foolishly came before us (see photo). It was a miracle when we reached the bottom. We knew we were close when the foul stench stung our nostrils. It was an olfactory assault akin to smelling salts. Ahoy! There it was! A small, tepid tidepool inhabited by salty Stinson Beach derelicts and one small baby great white shark. We held our noses and waded into the dank tarn. The water clung clammily to our shivering skin. The joy! So unappealing! A sea anemone kissed me on the cheek and I had had enough. We hiked away in shame and somehow we had to climb straight down again to get back to the car, this time aided by a thin, antique rope (see photo). The best thing to report about this trip was that we made it back to our car! I loved it so much I'll be back next year!
