Bip was not allowed outside that morning. She was not put on the ground outside of our home until we arrived at cabin. She was in her purse at all times for the entire trip. Got to cabin36B at 1532 (3:32pm) Put up pin in gravel 1st thing. Left her there for 15-20 min as we unpacked the car and put away groceries. A hour later she started vomiting what looked like clear/ white spit. We thought it may be her flee meds given the day before or constipation due to the weird circles she was turning. Other ideas we were thinking were vestibular attack, elevation change, or possible bug spray/poisioning. Went to dollar general at 8ish and got Benadryl to see if it would help. Got back noticed it didn't have a syringe to administer meds. I went to my car to see if I had a saline flush, at this time the lady from came pulled up and ask if we were warm enough. I told her we were, and told her what I was looking for that my dog was sick and ask if she had a dropper or anything we could use. She ask could she come in and take a look at my dog. She stated she looked like she was "acting like the people "down town" on meth..last thought on my mind. Ended up calling the emergency vet hospital Veterinary Specialty Services 45 min away! After exam the vet said it looked like meth toxicity, and recommended a cystobladder needle aspiration to get urine to which she had to be sedated for. While waiting on the procedure, I finally ask them for something to calm her bc we have had to hear her cry at this point for almost 7 hours. It was devastating. They came got her immediately to go ahead and give her something to relax her. After she was examined it was determined she in fact had meth amphetamine toxicity. She was then admitted. We got back to cabin at 4am. On the way there we called the police to file a report to see what we could do. I ask them if they could come search the property or bring a dog or anything and they said there was nothing they could do and suggested I contact an attorney. The following morning I contacted Alitta the campground manager and let her know what was going on and what the the police said, I told her I didn't want to contact an attorney or take this further that it needed to go and we could handle this out of court, and she agreed. She offered to give me the refund for Sunday because she didn't need authorization to do that but she would have to wait on the owner or HR to refund Saturday night. She told me Sunday that the owner authorized the Saturday night stay as well and she would be reaching out to me. She was hospitalized in ICU until Monday morning at 4/23/26 Got refund Spoke with Alitta at 1650 She was not willing to give me names of the owners. Said for legal reasons. All she would tell me was Jennifer. She got very agitated when I ask. She would not give me a number to contact her boss or her bosses boss. She said she gave them my number and they would contact me. But they haven't yet. 04/24/26 1250: Finally spoke with Jennifer. Said there was an open investigation and she was not paying vet bills. And she had a lawyer but wouldn't give me a name. I called the Police Department back. Spoke with a Detective. He said there is no investigation on this subject. So this is the type of people you're dealing with. Be careful staying here! It could have been a child getting into the left over meth!!!

The trails get really loopy and I would say it's a moderate trail enough to be out of breath and stop and take some breaks but doable and about an hour to an hour and a half. The water aspect is very need I would highly recommend water shoes because the rocks are very slippery. You can also not bring food or coolers down there so try to eat before coming. They also state no pets but I've seen pets several times and I've seen pets in the water

Our family has been making an annual pilgrimage here each summer to float the Meremac for over 20…read moreyears. We've seen wonderful changes with the current owners. This is a family campground, clean, well maintained and beautifully situated on the river. However, it is on a river and with that comes rocks, mud, potential flooding, wildlife, insects, and some hardy partiers. There will be spiders in your cabin, the carpet is not clean, the furniture is old, lines are not plush, and pillows are flat. But toilets flush, water from the spigot will run clear after a few minutes and the mud usually dries up pretty quickly. This campground has quiet hours and isn't crazy full of drunks, like others in the area. But it is a take out spot for paddlers, so you will be entertained by floaters at the end of their day of drinking. Typically a nice rocky beach exists and you can hang at the river. Now if it's been raining a lot the beach may be gone. This is rare. Indian Springs is an ideal place to stay to float. At your appointed time you and all your coolers get to go on a crazy ride on an old school bus where you'll be given your raft, canoe or kayak for the day. Then you simply paddle down a cool, clear, fairly shallow river until you return to your campground for a hot shower. Even hot meals are served on the weekends (breakfast and suppers). Let's talk about the term "resort." It is used very loosely in this part of MO. The five stars is not for fancy luxury. It's for practicality. In your cabin, You can expect electricity, clean linens, dorm sized fridge, running water, air conditioning, beds and a few chairs and a table on a sort of screened porch. Fire circles, trash cans and some playground equipment are available outside. Pack the kids' bikes, a pet if you're willing to pay the pet fee/fine and your own beer. While ice is available, no cold beer is sold at the store. Horseshoe pits and shoes are available for free. Our family finds this campground awesome for our needs. We have a large group (60-70 people of all ages--this year we ranged from 4 to 80 years old. We rent cabins all close to each other, some choose the extra tiny motel rooms, while some families camp (not recommended for tent camping as too prone to flooding/standing water). We make large group meals--imagine packing crockpots, roasters, fish fryers, etc. There is a small swimming pool--but I believe the owners have had it with replacing the liner so it is going to be turned into a lillypad pond. We will miss it. But we've already put down our deposit for next year!

It was not my first choice in the area given…read moreI have had good experiences floating and camping with Bear Cat before but a couple of people in the group needed electricity so we stayed at here at Deer Creek Campground. There was about 8 of our people set up in the "loud camping area" and myself, husband and one other opted for the "quiet, tent camping" area. I was a bit concerned when I walked to the loud area and past many floats laying on the side of the road that those were the floats we would use. I put it out of my mind. I will say someone told me that this campground had new owners so perhaps they are getting used to some things and plan to make some improvements if they can but I am basing this review solely on my experience. We paid $69 for our tent space for 2 of us for 2 nights and $86 to do the 7 mile float. We all gathered about 9:45am at the office and were taken to the put in for our float. Before getting into my float I noticed it was taking on water but didn't want to be a pain. I should have said something then but both of the 2 man rafts our group had took on a lot of water during the trip. By the end there was really no where for me to sit that wasn't constantly in water and I was VERY ready to get out and get back to the campsite and change into some dry shorts. Other people floating kept making comments about our rafts throughout our trip. All of our groups rafts were under inflated (4 and 2 man rafts). The river was PACKED with people. I think in the past I have been on floats that left a bit earlier though, so that may have been part of it. Once back at the campsite I showered. Unfortunately, so did another large group. I waited to shower (4 stalls) and by the time it was my turn there way so much standing water in the bottom of the stall I considered skipping it all together. I showered as quickly as I could and exited the shower. There were two drains on the floor in the main bathroom area that water was rising up out of. This did seem to dissipate later in the evening when less people were showering but it was gross none the less. I know this is not the campgrounds fault, but they had a neighbor who must have kept their dogs outside all night so despite being in the "quiet" section, I woke up about 20 times in the night due to the barking from the dogs, and some other nature noises (it was by a pond so probably frogs). The campsites in our quiet section we were told were labeled but there was only about 6 sites we could actually locate numbers on so assuming we were probably some of the few over there we kind of just plopped our stuff down in an area we thought seemed about right. I can say that our Porta potty was fairly clean and we did have a water spigot nearby which was helpful. A few bright spots of mention. They had ice and other items one might need available in the store and though I did not opt to use it, they do have a pool on the campgrounds that I am sure people would enjoy, especially kids and people who may not have floated the river. The people running the campgrounds were all pretty nice and helpful. Another note, just about nature, but basically every person that camped in either section of our group found 1 or more ticks on them so they are very prevalent in this area and if you do camp here please be careful, spray and check yourself often! Take the good with the bad. I would have given this place 2.5 stars if I could have.

We were near the water which was awesome. This is a trout fishing Mecca, so we got to see wading fishers and trout swimming upstream. Our premium family site accommodated 2 RVs, had electrical hookups and picnic tables with fire pits. Water was close by bu not on our site.

We arrived at sunset (in late December) and onsite manager Susie was waiting for us. Susie was wonderful, friendly, helpful and so warm and funny; she took us right to our site. Sites were level, hookups were easy, dog walk area was huge. Bathhouses are older but spotless, road noise minimal. We will be back!

Not the parks fault, but it rained a lot, so there was a lot of mud where the vehicles were parked. Right outside the door it was grassy so it was good for the dogs to go out to potty. Rick is a good owner, even refunded our portion of the month we did not use less electricity, which by the way is only $.10/kwh. Yes a dime. That is super. We paid for a month in advance and he calculated us leaving 2 weeks early, deducted our electric, and refunded the rest. That is unheard of in RV parks, but we were glad and thankful he did. Now our Garmin could not locate his address. And RV Parky was showing it to be in the city limits of Rolla. I sent them a correction to the correct location and it is now updated in RV Parky. But I also updated the amenities. They do not have a pool, golf, or any other amenities including fire rings. US 63 runs along side the park, but to tell the truth, we seldom noticed the noise, only if a semi used the jake brake. The dogs loved it as there is a huge, I mean really BIG pet area, not including the yard we had as part of the site. There are some long term rigs there, and they have buddy sites throughout the park. It is 17 miles to town, bit the road is good.
