We were scheduled for a Friday, but were rescheduled to Saturday due to not enough bookings. Thankfully, we had an opening Saturday and could go. I found this on groupon but checked their website to see if it was comparable and it was 50% off with their promotional offer! This was a fun little excursion. We scrambled down the pier to the boat, which was much larger than I expected. Lots of seats and it's covered in case of a drizzle. Nice and clean, the crew of husband and wife are friendly and knowledgeable about the area so there's a little history tour as well as dolphin spotting. We saw quite a few of the little guys! They even have blankets if you get a chill, which I did. Would be a great family excursion. We enjoyed it! read more

With myself being a Christmas fiend, my boyfriend knew that the best way for us to experience St. Augustine's magical Christmas light display, was a nice boat tour. Red Boat Tours went above and beyond to make the experience even more amazing! The tour takes you right around the bay in a festively decorated boat, offering hot chocolate, cookies and Christmas music for the ride. The whole trip lasts about an hour and 40 minutes, as they take a few minutes by the lights to allow for pictures to be taken. The couple that runs the tour are funny and sweet people, and Christmas light tours aren't the only tours they run! They offer dolphin tours, host office parties, and more! If you're a local or just visiting the historic city, I definitely recommend getting a spot on Red Boat Tours for any of your boating needs! read more

We truly enjoyed our evening Night of Lights boat tour! BYOB and adults only later at night was a great way to celebrate a special occasion! The tour was relaxing, informative, funny, and beautiful! We got many amazing photo ops, including a chance for photos together by the crew. My husband and I highly recommend this company, but sure to dress warm or bring layers since it's chillier on the water if it's "winter" in FL! Why would anyone sit in traffic in town to see the Holiday Lights when you can join Captain Tony and Jennifer for a relaxing cruise. The tour is narrated by Captain Tony who shares lot of interesting facts about St. Augustine along with some humor. Not only did we get to see the Lights, some dolphins even joined us. The trip was enjoyable and is very reasonable priced. Highly recommen. read more

Dolphin tour today was dolphin-less, but that didn't stop us from enjoying beautiful waters & sunshine! Our guides were friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Lots of tidbits of history while cruising the inlet. It really was a beautiful day to be on the water, I am very interested in the full moon tours! Highly recommend! read more

This was my favorite part of our trip to St. Augustine! Making our reservations were easy and our Captain even remembered specifically speaking with my husband!!! Seating was great/comfortable and everything was visible, perfect for spotting dolphins!! The boat was pristine, covered to keep the sun at bay, and the music selection was perfect!!! I learned so much about the sights and got some unforgettable pictures/videos!!! We can't wait to go back and bring the older kiddos as well as do the Night Of Lights!!! My Husband & i were on our Honeymoon May 2022 & we had heard about the Red Boat Sunset Tours from a friend, so we reserved our seats & went on an hour & half adventure. It was a full boat, but we were up towards the front, so not bad. The Skipper & his 1st Mate were funny, informative, & very nice. We LOVED this tour :D!!!! Captain Tony and first Mate Jennifer are amazing. We booked our tour through Trip Advisor and due to some miscommunication our large group of 13 had overbooked so instead of canceling and refunding our money they opened up another tour and took my family and another family out to make it right! We saw serval dolphins including babies, and they are knowledgeable on the history in the area. They are kind, funny and kid friendly! I highly recommend spending the day with these lovely people on their tour. Next trip we take to Florida my husband and I will take their B.Y.O.B evening tour. My husband and I booked the BYOB sunset tour for our "mini honeymoon" what an enjoyable night. Finding parking at the public pier and checking we're super easy. We cruised the inter coastal while enjoying our cocktails. We saw so many dolphins and the most beautiful sunset. One of the most fabulous things I've done since moving to Jax 12 years ago. I can't wait to do other tours with them. We did the St Augustine, light the night, water tour. Captain Tony and his wife Jen, were lovely hosts. They shared their knowledge and their love for St Augustine is apparent. No extra charge for Captain Tony's jokes. They were a genuine, sweet, caring couple who ensured that everyone was comfortable, felt welcomed and were enjoying themselves. As Jen moved about the boat, she'd stop and have small conversation with everyone, nobody was excluded. She really made you feel at ease in this intimate setting. You could tell that Jen wanted to make sure everyone was having a nice time (whatever that meant to them.) The boat was clean, well maintained and comfortable. They offered warm blankets and even offered to take pictures of you with St Augustine as the backdrop if you liked. They were just good people, offering an awesome experience, who cared about our enjoyment and ensured their tour was informative, but not in a scripted way. They spoke and shared, like they were talking to friends in their living room. The boat ride was not rushed, we stopped several times to point out things. You never felt rushed when taking pictures. They made sure everyone got the perfect shot. Go take a tour and enjoy yourself with this unique treat! Ask questions, be curious. I could tell that Tony and Jen love what they do and didn't mind answering any questions. Thanks for a wonderful night out. By the way, my husband and I always celebrate our first date, 1/24/06 and want to thank you for another successful 1/24 date!!! Hope to see you soon on another tour!!! We did the Night Light Tour. It was amazing! BRING YOUR OWN BLANKET (we read a review that the blanket was maybe provided, but we were very happy we brought ours just in case) It was a slow wander around the water, pointed out a lot of fun facts and some fun (?!) jokes were had. We went on the night lighted boat tour of St Augustine this past Christmas. It was such a great expereince. The captain and his wife were a great mixture of funny and educational. It was a chilly night and we were immediately asked if we wanted a wool blanket and being a true Floridian...YES I DID! It was such a great addition that made the tour much more comfortable. They were both willing to take pictures and pause the boat until everyone had the pictures they wanted. Seeing the historic distrit all lit up from the water was a great experience. read more

This tour was so relaxing and not very in your face. The crew was helpful and informative and also had a great sense of humor. I loved the BYOB tour (for obvious reasons) and loved that they tried to make it more then just a drinking sunset cruise, they made sure to find cools sights to see such as a pod of dolphins and numerous other cool locations in St. Augustine. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a non-expansive night out that is a blast as well as relaxing. And be sure to bring cash to tip at the end of the cruise as the crew definitely deserves it :) read more

For a girls' night we grabbed a Groupon for a sunset boat tour through Red Boat Water Tours. We actually purchased tickets months ago, but due to inclement weather picked a second date. Last weekend we were finally able to go and it was such a treat! It was a father-daughter duo running the tour, and the captain had plenty of St. Augustine facts and lore along the way. Our biggest objection is that there is no sign, indicating where to catch the boat. It docks at a public pier, where advertising is not permitted. But there was no signage, out on the street, to indicate the location. The only help we got was from a city sign, which indicated the address of the pier if you needed to call 911. Once on board, the crew (all 2 of them) was gracious and helpful, even providing blankets for the cool evening. The captain was entertaining, but did not give an ongoing commentary. We saw some dolphins, soon after leaving the dock, cruised past the St. Augustine light, St. Augustine "Yacht Club," through the Bridge of Lions and past downtown, before returning. I have been on better sunset cruises, but also on some that were much worse. read more

Best water tour in St. Augustine! We (grandma, mom, and aunt) celebrated my sister's birthday on the happy hour sunset cruise and had the best time! Tony and Jennifer were amazing hosts! They truly made us feel like family. They were so sweet and accommodating to each and every passenger. The captain and his wife played excellent music, told a few jokes, and recounted bits and pieces of St. Augustine's long history. This cruise exceeded my expectations (the boat was comfortable and spacious). As someone who has lived in St. Augustine for a few years now, I was blown away by the service we received. Excellent ride. On a cold and windy day they showed us around with huge smiles and great stories. We celebrated my daughter's birthday with this trip and they announced it for everyone to recognize her (which she loved) and gave her a T-Shirt. Established in 2016.

Captain Tony & Miss Jennifer have worked together in various business ventures, since they met at work in 1990. Having both worked in the tour boat business in St Augustine, they were attempting to purchase a for sale existing company, and when that purchase fell apart at the eleventh hour, having already purchased and renovated the White Pelican, Red Boat Tours was born!

Meet the Business Owner: Tony and Jennifer P.

A retired food company Sales & Marketing Executive, Captain Tony founded Red Boat Water Tours, as a means to fulfill a lifelong dream of living and working on the Coastal waters of Florida. His passion for customer satisfaction drives Captain Tony to ensure that each and every visitor's experience is above and beyond their expectations. Father of four and grandfather of three, Captain Tony is also passionate about airplanes, hotrods, wiener dogs and the US Marine Corps! Jennifer, a professional photographer, married to The Captain since 1992, is the owner and founder of "Artistic Photography by Jennifer P", where it is her mission to make life lasting artwork, out of your everyday lives activities. As cofounder of Red Boat Tours, she and The Captain work together as Captain & Mate, as often as they can. They share a crazy passion for wiener dogs and currently live with THREE! There were four, but we recently lost our beloved Minnie to cancer.

I wouldn't suggest it at all, except to view the lighthouse with a little less people, view the city at night and to be cooler than during the heat of the sun.

I am a Michigander who recently traveled to St. Augustine with my husband and parents whom are in their late seventies and early eighties. After driving many miles our first adventure was to take a sunset trip on the red boat. Dad is a vet recovering from a broken femur and uses a walker. I was unprepared for how long of a walk it would be to the boat for a disabled person using only a walker. Captain Tony and his daughter Savanna let us know that Dad should just take his time getting to the boat. There was no pressure though departure time was basically now. All of the boarded passengers were very patient, (It was a BYOB trip thank goodness!) At the top of the plank Dad stood sweating and rethinking his plans to join us on the boat when Captain Tony and Savanna delivered the news that the mom, Captain's wife,Jennifer, would be delivering a wheelchair for the ride back and assured him when the tide rises the plank would be at a more accessible level. Dad made it down and passengers jumped up to help him aboard and make him comfortable. Dad, a old Marine, generally does not appreciate such attention, but he was so touched by all of the kindness from the crew and passengers from all over the states and England. Passengers offered him fine wine, better than the Old Milwaukee we brought. The trip was great! we actually saw dolphins near the boat and the sunset illuminated the cityscape and Cross in such a surreal way we knew this was going to be a fabulous vacation. Captain Tony was knowledgeable, funny and kind. Savanna was so accommodating and friendly and Thank God for Jennifer! Dad made it back to the car because of this lovely family caring about their passengers! read more

Captain Tony and his first mate Jennifer are outstanding. Hospitality from the moment they see you; what a great experience. The boat is a very accommodating vessel with the ability to walk around if you like, however, there isn't a bad seat on it. We enjoyed seeing dolphins jump directly in front of the boat and swimming along side. Truly amazing. They know the spots to enjoy and admire the wildlife while sharing the history of the wonderful city of St. Augustine. Definitely a must for everyone of all ages. Our group was from age 4 to 81 and we all enjoyed ourselves. Very much worth your time and money. Our next visit will include Red Boat Water Tours. read more

This was the most enjoyable tourist boat trip I have ever experienced. The captain and crew were very friendly and engaging. The boat was full, but it still felt comfortable. We were fortunate enough to see several dolphins during our trip. The river was in perfect condition, and we shared our experience with several other boaters. Surprisingly, the bathroom was spotless, just like the rest of the boat. We were offered a complimentary bottle of water, but we were also welcome to bring our own drinks and snacks. This tour would be perfect for a romantic sunset cruise or a fun outing with friends or visitors. read more

Captain Tony and Jennifer were fabulous! We have taken other boat tours of St. Augustine but this is definitely the one you want to take. We had a little trouble spotting dolphins at first, but Captain Tony knows all the spots to find them and he made sure we did not return without seeing them. We got to see a pair of Mama and baby dolphins. Captain Tony and Jennifer are also very knowledgeable about the history of St. Augustine. I highly recommend this tour! read more
