Traveling here on business, this is a wonderful alternative to the several local hotels. With a motto of "Come here as a guest, and leave as family." -- it's more than true after my 3-day stay. Super comfy bed, and very quiet -- I slept just great! Lots of extra blankets and pillows if needed. Each room has the comforts of your own TV with cable, but I felt more than welcome to be downstairs in the main room with the big-screen TV, a large fireplace, and lots of seating/recliner choices. Free wifi/internet is provided. For breakfast, Carol and Ron both chip-in and provide an excellent breakfast. There are 4 or more choices to choose from, and the night before - just place your order and time - and it'll be ready. I recommend Carol's special scrambled eggs (bacon, cheese, peppers, onions) - awesome! Because of the time of year, it didn't happened to have many other guests. The one downside - it has a shared bathroom. There are several bathrooms within the lodge, so I guess it wouldn't be too much of a problem. The highlight of the time spent here was getting to know the very sweet people of Ron and Carol. They are warm, open, kind, and generous people who are in the right business of serving others and sharing their home.

The owner, Sandy, was quick with communication when I had questions about what to expect. Her home is very large with several guest rooms, some with private restrooms. Around 3AM I noticed a puddle of water on the bathroom floor. It spread from the tub to the sink & was at least 2.5 feet wide. I put down towels & called the hotel front desk. He said that it would have to wait. Later, he called & woke me, saying that no one would be able to address it & that they could try to find another room for me. Long-story-short, I did not get another room, nor did I get a discount. However, I did learn from the lady that this room HAS BEEN AN ISSUE & that their plumbers could not find the source. So, they put a disabled person in this room, knowing that there was a water leak & what looked like black mold. There should be some form of oversight to prevent this health & safety hazard.
