Beware that on the check there is a service fee of 18 percent that they say goes to the entire staff of the restaurant and that they also expect you to add another tip for your server. I guess the huge price of the food doesn't pay the staff. So in the long run you would pay 36 plus in percentage of your bill. Also note that if you leave an extra tip it is calculated including the tax and the service tip that is already on the bill. This is ridiculous especially with the price of the product. read more

I've been here a dozen times, while they always seem suspiciously out of lava cake the food, service and cleanliness is fantastic. Currently my favorite place on earth! We have been here 3-5 times in the past few months and I'm already craving it again. Best seafood boil. I usually get snow crab legs, with sausage, shrimp, and the corn and potatoes. In the garlic butter sauce. It is mouthwatering. It is SO good. Husband gets a spicy sauce and scallops. Another amazing thing here- the drinks! Don't skip the drinks! I get a drink called Lychee Empress and it's amazing. Superb lychee flavor! You can get any drink in a HUGE show stopping tower for the table. It is such a fun place. We haven't got a tower yet but it's on our list. This is the place for good seafood. It's cooked amazing, it's hot, the service is good. It's pricy but worth it. Note- I have a feeling they are not used to people using crackers for crab legs here because I was slightly teased and get funny looks when I request them lol! I like to get every last piece out. Not sure what that's all about. Bathrooms are clean. Tables are covered with paper you can draw on or remove after eating. Bibs and gloves offered every time. Well. I honestly keep patronizing this business because I enjoy the flavor of the crab sauce. But here we are a YEAR later and the employees attitudes are still extremely negative and their website along with the closing time listed on Google STILL don't match what their rude a-- employees state their closing time is. I understand how companies can forget to update their information on Google HOWEVER this companies information on both their website Google are WRONG! I came in with some high expectations. Originally I came to get a some raw oysters but after walking in the bathrooms I decided against it. I can't be sure but I think i saw a roach wing on the floor. Enough to say bathrooms were not clean. The place had a horrible smell. Like some kind of ammonia fragrant cleaner and old restaurant smell. I should have left but I was excited to have some fried oysters and mussels. I went to DFW and preferred the shoe and body odor over this smell. I had to take a shower and wash all my clothes when I got home. It was a really pervasive smell. The mussels and oysters were good which is why I gave an extra star. I enjoyed both thoroughly. They provided a lot of mussels in the boil. Server recommended the medium spice and it was the right kind of spicy. I like it a little spicy but it's a delicate balance. They nailed it. I'd give four stars for food but the smell and bathrooms have really left a bad impression. Service was fair but slow for lunch crowd. We asked for more time on the menus and they were very nice about it and came right over when we were ready. Food came out faster than I expected. Just that I never got a refill on Diet Coke, even though we were there for a while. Check took awhile as well. Overall not worth eating here the first time and nothing special enough to want to ever come back. read more

Why only 4 stars and not 5 you ask? Because most of the entrees that include snow crabs only have one or two crab clusters and they are not big at all. If you order the seafood combination or family tray don't get too excited thinking you're going to get a lot of snow crab bc you won't . The bar area was a decent size and the ladies bathroom was pretty clean. Ok so let's get into why you're really here lol. Food, drinks and service. Our waitress (Diamond) was really great! She was attentive, friendly and very helpful. She didn't hesitate to answer any questions or concerns we had. My daughter ordered the mild flavored juicy special (Cajun, Lemon Pepper and Garlic Butter) small crab clusters (2) which comes with corn and potatoes. As stated the snow crabs were really small so she was kinda disappointed because it wasn't filling. My husband ordered the fried shrimp and catfish basket which included French fries. He said it was good and they gave him plenty of French fries. My youngest had the kids shrimp basket with fries and he didn't complain. He even said "wow I have a lot of French fries". I couldn't decide what I wanted so I opted for the family tray #A (Hot, juicy special flavored) which was more than enough to share across the table and still have plenty to take home (minus the snow crab). They offer two different family trays, A & B, but both come with corn, potatoes and eggs. You also get to choose four additional items on top of your shrimp and snow crab (#B comes with 2 lobster tails). My platter consisted of the above and my pick four items were turkey sausage, black mussels and double crawfish. Omg the food was delicious & well flavored. I could've went up to the extra hot spicy level but I knew I would be sharing. I was very disappointed that I only received one snow crab cluster for the price of the family tray but I digress. For drinks we ordered the gone fishing and sea monster fish bowl. I was thinking it would have been a bit bigger in size for the price but the taste of the drink was ok. "Excellent fried seafood near South Square in Durham" My son and I got takeout from this place, nestled near Zweli's in a strip mall, for dinner tonight. We each got po-boys-- he got shrimp and I got catfish. He also ordered a side of boiled egg for some reason I do not understand. I barely walked into the restaurant to pick up the takeout-- there's a register right next to the door where the server hands it to you. One thing to remember for getting your takeout-- if you order via Yelp, it'll be in your Yelp name-- ie, "Mohamed N" for me, not having my full last name. We had a misunderstanding when I arrived because I used my last name, and they thought it wasn't ready. The food was GREAT, both in quality and in quantity. The po-boys were on soft bread, not the totally crumbly bread you'd get in Louisiana. Personally, I liked this better-- was never a fan of the super-crumbly bread (which also makes a mess). They were BIG, too, and I loved the flavor of both the fish and the sauces. Note: this is a MESSY sandwich-- prepare to have your hands pretty wet by the end. The helpings of fries were very generous-- neither of us finished ours. I got the sweet potato fries, which are waffle-style, and my son got the cajun ones (standard stick style). If I ordered again, I might get the cajun ones-- the sweet potato ones were good, but the cajun were excellent. The boiled egg was... a boiled egg. Overall, I'd happily come back. We have been to this location several times since they opened. The servers are always excellent but our favorites are Shaq and Joy! If we could rate the servers alone, they get 5 stars. The food is great and probably our favorite seafood boil restaurant. We would give the food flavor and freshness a solid 5 on all but one visit. One visit seemed to be an off day as the calamari was super overcooked as were most the other appetizers. We couldn't finish them they were so overcooked. The decor is great and the restaurant always looks clean. So here are the things that we feel could be improved. The portion sizes have definitely gotten smaller over the visits. Its almost as if they started with good portion sizes to get you in but then cut them back now that they have been opened for awhile and have steady guests. On one visit, the bathrooms had been cleaned with a bleach cleaner; which is great since we are in a pandemic, but the counters in the bathroom were sprayed and not fully wiped down so while washing my hands I leaned against the counter leaving a bleach spot on my shirt. On more than one visit they didn't have the tool to crack the crab legs and we had to wait for some even though our food had been delivered. They have also NEVER had seafood forks to get the oysters out. These should be standard tools in a seafood restaurant and there should always be an adequate supply of these. Im not sure who makes their sweet tea but it is consistently the worst we have had. It taste like water, tinted with a touch of tea and sweetened with a splash of sugar. We initially thought this would get better with time and that on the first visit it was just a fluke but NOPE. It seems to be just the way they make it. Having worked in the restaurant business for years, it looks like they are brewing it with one tea bag instead of two. Im sure some of this is just new restaurant stuff that will get worked out so we will continue to come here as we see great potential! read more

Came on a Saturday for lunch with a party of 2. There was plenty of parking in the strip mall. Coming in, we were immediately seated. We got green mussels, shrimp (without head), crawfish and dungeoness crab, choosing the Cajun spice without any added heat. I had hoped to get blue crab but it was out of season. The seafood came with potatoes and corn. We also got the garlic pasta. Ambiance: 4.5/5 Loved how they have a shell/trash bin and give you plastic gloves, sanitizing wipes and a plastic bip to protect your clothes. Service: 4/5 The service was good though sometimes slightly slow. Food: 4.5/5 The seafood was perfectly cooked- especially the shrimp and crab. Typically in seafood boils the shrimp is over cooked but she shrimp here were perfectly cooked! The dungeoness crab was delicious and we loved the green mussels. The crawfish were ok. Next time, I probably wouldn't get the crawfish and would instead try one of the other crabs and get more shrimp. The garlic pasta was also good. The potatoes were great though the corn was completely over cooked and mushy. Price: 4.5/5 Price was decent for seafood. Will definitely be back and probably with a bigger party. read more

So glad they finally have a location in Durham! I was a regular at the Greensboro Location. Came in to place a to-go order. I was promptly greeted. The decor inside is very nice and there were a few people seated inside eating. They also have a bar area but I'm sure if they sale alcoholic drinks. The guy who took my order was extremely professional and had very nice positive energy. My food was ready in 10 minutes! And everything taste great! I got the Thursday special Juicy style seasoning medium. Very flavorful! I also receive 10% off for going during opening week! Can't beat that!
