Amazing food you gets your money's worth. They don't hold back portions in my opinion.

I have only been here a couple of times but each time was a good experience. The staff is always friendly and the food was great. This time I got a shrimp boil....so much great flavor! There were no patrons eating in on this cold night. However, a few patrons were picking patrons picking up orders. My daughter ordered a crab boil. Sadly, one of her favorite parts of the order, the corn, was omitted when we arrived home. I ordered a fried shrimp basket with sweet potato fries. It was pretty good. The shrimp were fried well but not overcooked. The fries were adequate. The menu is varied and the prices are $, so I will definitely visit again when I am in the area. read more

We have a love/hate relationship. The sauce for the crab boils is AMAZING but the crab legs are always really small and although they say you get a pound, regardless of the size, they always just give you 2 clusters. I've had to speak up about it and they corrected it immediately but you want people to walk in integrity when you're a patron of their business. The sanitation grade is always low and when I looked up the violations, it were serious enough to keep me out of there. read more

This was our first time visiting this restaurant. I felt like eating crab legs and majority of the crab restaurants in Durham were closed down. This was one of the only ones that appeared to still be opened, so we decided to try it. The host and cashier were friendly and professional. We felt like valued customers. We ordered right away and our food was served quickly. We ordered 2 "make your own" seafood in the bag dishes without corn; I am allergic to corn. One bag was with a garlic butter sauce, and the other bag was with an old bay seasoning sauce. Both sauces really enhanced the flavor of the seafood and potatoes. We enjoyed our meals. read more

Went here on a Wednesday afternoon and absolutely loved the food and service here! The place was well decorated with this whole shellfish themed decor and this giant red lobster in the front which was fun and cute! Got the fried chicken wings as an appetizer (delicious) and had the leftovers to take home. The seafood was great as well, fresh and delicious drenched in sauce. Saw this spot after leaving Big Lots and thought I would give it a try. This place is super big and clean. The tables are social distanced, and all staff members are wearing mask (properly) with gloves. I ordered the shrimp po boy sandwich with cajun fries. The wait for my food wasn't long at all and it came out piping hot. My waiter was really attentive and kept my drink full. CrabSea is a much needed "Asian Cajun" restaurant in the Durham area! Surprisingly, there's nothing close to it. I don't consider Louisiana Cajun Bars and Seafood Bars the same. "Asian Cajun" is another level and CrabSea does it right. I believe they have something special going on here and soon enough, there will also be similar concepts popping up around this area. I stopped in for dinner on a late Wednesday night. The space is huge! The waitress told me that this building used to be a Chinese Buffet. There were 3 other parties dining in but the people were constantly coming in and out to pick up take out orders. I suggest that you come hungry! Not only do they serve "Asian Cajun", they also have a Chinese food menu. My food came out quick! I went with... * Crab Sea Sauce (Medium) -- A nice blend of garlic, butter, sweetness, salty ness * 1/2 shrimp with head-on -- Juicy and cooked to perfection * 1/2 crawfish -- huge! It's Friday during Lent so what do we do? Eat fish! Was hanging out in Durham for work and came across Crab Sea based on awesome reviews from my fellow Yelpers. It's a good thing I ordered online before actually seeing where this place was. When an entire shopping center is anchored by a Big Lots, you know you aren't in the Hamptons. That being said, I ordered the 3-piece fish basket with sweet potato fries and some tartar sauce from Kraft. The inside of the place was dang near immaculately clean and quite tidy, which was reassuring. So I got my basket and went to the car and immediately the smell of fish permeated the air. When I got anything deep fried, I always worry about cross-contamination of flavors if they use the same oil for everything. Took a bite out a sweet potato fry and was treated to a light and delicate texture with plenty of flavor. Once the fish cooled, the first bite was heavenly! Lightly breaded and full of flavor as well. Really good fish! I wasn't shocked, but just wasn't expecting it to taste THAT good. I didn't even crack the seal on the tartar sauce it was that good. Putting a condiment on that fish would be an insult to the fish. All in all, a great tasting lunch that will likely have me coming back before Lent is over! Great job Crab Sea! read more

They have everything! Seafood, fried chicken and Chinese food...all in one place! This spot is spacious, clean and charming. I've had the chicken and broccoli and I'll probably won't order that again. I've also had their fried shrimp basket and that thing slaps!!! A hidden gem in South Durham and for my first "Asian Cajun" experience, it was spectacular. The service was outstanding, the staff gave us gloves and bibs to keep ourselves from getting dirty. And they constantly came to check on us. When we were done with our meal, they offered to bag our leftover sauce to go, suggesting it goes great on rice or noodles. Like I said, great service! We both ordered combo bags with their combination sauce, spice level medium. It indeed packed spice for sure. The sauce was so flavorful and garlicky. I personally felt the sauce was a little too salty and in the future may dial down to one sauce flavor rather than a combination of sauces. Service deserves 5 stars! The people that work here are very kind and the service is prompt. I placed a takeout order for a combo of crab legs and shrimp, crab sea seasoning and extra spicy. The hostess made sure to add "hot hot hot" to my order! So sweet. The food: The seasoning was a little too lemony for my taste but had a decent kick and was garlicky (the more garlic the better!) I felt the shrimp was over cooked- it was fairly tough and the crab was also rubbery. I really wanted to like the seafood but I'll stick to Cary Crab House for my Asian Cajun seafood kick. Ordering was fast and food came out quick ! first impressions of the food was 10/10 they give you your moneys worth they make sure it's filled up with sauce unlike other places who are very stingy ! Food was fresh we all couldn't stop raving about how good it was ! love the experience and food we will be coming back for sure ! Cons: For the restaurant to be as big as it is they seat everyone in the restaurant right next to each other ( 5 groups right next to each other ) I felt bad for people having to listen to our convos and vice versa All this place is a missing a bar / liquor menu and it would be the best place in Durham hands down ! HOLY CRAWFISH BATMAN. I am devastated I live in Michigan. Out of all the places I went to for my trip in Missouri and in North Carolina... I gotta say this place takes the cake!! The portions in the bag are gigantic. The sauce is finger licking good. To be honest, I've never seen such large crawfish. The potatoes? cooked to perfection? Sweet corn? Third hint was missing salt and pepper shakers. Food was as if someone decided to order a bunch of frozen processed food and add some sauce. One of these days I'll snap a picture before we devour our meal! We've ordered from here a few times for take out, it's become our favorite splurge meal night. We love getting the snow crab, shrimp, sausage, extra corn, potatoes and some broccoli all doused in either the special or garlic butter. Next time though we'll try some of the other flavors. This is finger licking good, pro tips keep wet hand towels near, pour some of the sauce in bowls for dipping/mashing with your potatoes and if you're feeling real extravagant get a hot baguette to sop it all up.
