I've always dreaded going in for a haircut due to having awful experiences in the past where hairstylists didn't understand my decision to have extremely long hair or respect my personal style. This was NOT the experience I had at Red Feather and I am OVERJOYED! Emily was an absolute pleasure to work with, she triple-checked the amount I wanted to cut off and gave my hair some much-needed TLC after 18 months with no haircut. I felt so welcomed, like reuniting with friends. Highly recommend going to Emily if you are precious about your hair length, her attention to detail is much appreciated. I hope to return for some fun colour next time! Also as an aside, I have never been to a place with such incredible COVID regulations. They required hand-washing, ensured towels were not cross-contaminated, and required masks. I appreciate this a lot as someone who lives with people with compromised immune systems. read more

The first few days after my appointment my hair looked great. Before the first week passed, the balayage faded and my hair turned blonde where she bleached it (from dark brown). My hair is dry and wiry now. When I expressed my concerns, she was nice to book a complimentary follow up. After expressing that I'd be late and would be happy to reschedule, she said my complimentary booking was cancelled and she couldn't help anymore. I would've happily paid for the cancellation fee and accepted the original complimentary follow up since my hair is completely messed up. However, their service over the phone was terrible. Their service on my hair was even worse. I wouldn't recommend this place or Emily who worked on my hair to anyone. read more

Starting from a stellar red allover color as a base and knowing my next visit we would add blonds and browns to achieve an outstanding result! I asked her to cut and blend the layers. My hair is long, I was comfortable with Mary and am very happy with the cut too. As an old hair cutter, I have found the best of the best that truly loves what she does and has a vision of cut and color beyond anyone else I know. I was able to make an appointment with Jen at Red Feather during a visit to my parents house in Sarasota. I had been wanting to try her salon so I booked when I would be visiting my family. I wish I was local and could go to Jen and her team on a regular basis! It's hard for me to describe the type of cut and style I wanted but after our consult she somehow deciphered exactly what I was trying to say and my haircut was perfect!! An undesirable experience. Don't go. While Jen may know her hair business, her delivery and interaction with clients lacks finesse. I was 9 minutes late and called to be polite. Only one client was in the salon. She assigned me to another stylist after waiting six weeks for an appointment with her. This was not acceptable to me, so I left. Her exchange was terse, her tone condescending and, by standing on principle, she lost what the business is built on: a repeat customer. They are hard to find and important to keep. read more

My partner and I went here for our first haircuts from a professional salon in what is probably years. The salon is stylish, welcoming, and took amazing precautions during the health crisis. We really appreciated that last part and felt safe and comfortable during our visit. While the salon showcases a lot of amazing long hair cut and colors, they did an equally phenomenal job with our short hair! Jen even gave us tips on how to upkeep our haircuts with our home clippers. We loved the whole experience and how we looked afterwards! Cannot recommend Red Feather Salon enough. read more

Went to see Jen at Red Feather on the recommendation of two friends. She is very talented, down to earth and hilarious. I felt right at home immediately. She asked lots of questions about what I wanted and gave me a style that would be easy to grow out and maintain. She took the time to give me some styling tips and tricks that would help me with different looks. She can do as tame or as wild a look that you want and she encouraged me to send her photos of hair colors and styles I like so she we could try new things later based on my tastes.
