We came here on the coldest Sunday on a day trip. Flavors were root beer float, banana, and birthday cake. The location cant be beat; right in the middle of old town. The staff was pleasant and everything was clean. They create a very welcoming vibe inside with cute booths and ample seating. The ice cream wasn't very cold though. Paid over $8 for a half a cup of melty ice cream with 2 toppings which was barely 2 scoops, and for whatever reason, they refused to put caramel on it in a cup because "tHeY dOnT dO tHaT" when the cup had enough room for it, so I had to get it as a sundae which was super annoying. Was fine but nothing mind blowing as far as homemade. Service was meh. Could be a lot better, could be a lot worse despite previous reviews. I guess I could say it wasn't necessarily unfriendly but I wasn't quite getting a welcoming vibe. Very humid in there which could explain the ice cream being melty. Glad I didn't notice the religious propaganda mentioned in previous reviews because that would've been a bit off putting. Between those 2 factors, it doesn't make a great atmosphere to sit at a table in there. Also as mentioned in previous reviews about them not being opened when google says they are: I've experienced this before the last time I attempted to come here. I'd consider going back at some point in the future to try one of their sandwiches (not trying them yet being the reason I stick to 2 stars instead of 1) but I am gonna avoid getting ice cream here at all costs unless I'm in the mood to get ripped off. read more

Came inside on a real busy day, there is no waiting area it is very tight and cramped as you wait in line on a real busy day like today. The gigantic boards on the wall displays the menu, I had a cookies n cream milkshake and my son had a double cup of vanilla and rainbow sprinkles. I was surprised to see they offer other foods such as cookies and sandwiches. Milkshake was ok, would've liked the Oreo cookies in it a little crunchy, these were more soggy lumps. My son enjoyed his ice cream. There is a dining area inside but I was so cramped in line I honestly just wanted to get out there asap so I did not get a good look at it. There's outdoor seating every where around old town so it's no big issue finding a place to sit and eat real quick. Decor is nice and customer service is ok. I had the cinnamon sugar on Mother's Day and it was so delicious. Today I tried the cherry vanilla and the maple walnut and it was good. Both flavors were very creamy. Cherry vanilla was good with a lot of big cherries. The maple walnut was good too but the only thing I would change is the size of the walnut. They were huge so it kinda took over the ice cream. I think if it was more small bite size pieces it would be much better. Overall it was a pleasant experience. read more

This was my first time coming to Red Fox Creamery. My daughter wanted an ice cream cake for her birthday, so rather than going to DQ for something generic, my husband and I came here, instead. Everything was delightful. From the moment you walk through the door, you just know that these people care about what it is they do. We were able to order the cake and customize the layers within minutes. The owner and another young woman were working to help us, and both of them were phenomenal in the art of customer service. My husband and I both left with little ice cream cups, too. I ordered the Andes Mint Chip. It was delicious! My husband got the Lemon Cream. He thoroughly enjoyed his as well. My husband and I grabbed a scoop of ice cream here while in Winchester. I was surprised to find that they served meals, soups, and baked goods along with their large ice cream menu. It was towards the end of the day so the flavors were a little more limited. We opted for a scoop of Andes Mint Chip - creamy vanilla ice cream with Andes pieces scattered throughout. The creaminess of this ice cream would be hard to beat! The Andes popped against the vanilla and added a nice texture to the ice cream. My only complaint is the size I received for the amount I paid. Ok Red Fox. I had some high hopes for you... like seriously, I was really hoping I'd leave incredibly happy and writing "red alert, red alert, this place is foxy" on your review... but it's more of "red alert, red alert, this place is just okay..." I'm a huge ice cream fanatic. I cannot even begin to tell the world how much I love ice cream... and being spoiled by Molly Moon's and Salt and Straw in the PNW, I was really hoping I could try a wider selection (or even all) of their flavors. I was limited to just 3. I was warned by the ice cream scooper... and I respectfully accepted and picked my choices wisely. Dinged 1 star here. Summer flavor - raspberry. I got a thing for some framboise sorbet and flavored anything. I gotta say, I was pretty impressed by it. It was hot and humid outside and the raspberry did its thang. There was some tartness to it but also the sweetness to balance it out. I said if it's a limited summer flavor, I'll get it. Cheesecake. Alright, I also love cheesecake and this one had a good amount of that cream cheese mixed in. The best part was the amount of the graham cracker crumble base also mixed in. Well done, I applaud on this one. Banana cream pie? Tasted like a whole lot of isoamyl acetate if you ask me. There wasn't much of the natural banana flavor as I got from the raspberry or cheesecake. Wasn't the biggest fan of this one but again, I love banana cream pies and I say just try a sample. Dinged 2nd star here. With that said, with my limited samples - I asked for a double scoop. My double scoop was equivalent to a single tennis ball size scoop. Also, it was $6. You can only imagine how sad I felt. I could get a big whoppin two tennis ball size half single scoops at salt n straw for $6. Dinged 3rd star here. In conclusion, limited samples? Cost? I was really disappointed in this place. My fiancé and I had stopped in on a quick stop in the area and wanted a sweet treat after a long car trip. We walked the mall and spotted Red Fox, so we went in. I was optimistic since they tell you right on the ice cream glass what allergens are present in what ingredients of the ice cream (I.e. Soy in the chocolate chips). I was disappointed they didn't have options for those who have Gluten allergies or vegan/dairy alternatives. My fiancé still wanted ice cream so we got a java chip scoop. During our time enjoying our ice cream my fiancé had to go to the restroom. Their restroom door notes you have to be a paying customer to use the restroom- and the key is at the register so you have to ask for it. He went to get the key and came back to the register to note there wasn't any toilet paper or paper towels in the restroom. Mind you, this was around 11a and maybe 4 people in the place. The young girl working the counter grabbed an already used TP roll from the staff bathroom and went back to tend to the customer at the register. He grabbed some napkins and went to the restroom. Overall, we were really unimpressed with the service we received. The young girls working there (must be 16?) obviously didn't want to be working on a Saturday. They looked angry and upset from the moment we walked in. We weren't greeted and the first interaction was "what do you want". After the Restroom issue, we sat down to enjoy the ice cream we went in for. As we sat down, we noticed once of the girls left for across the street with a large bill to get change across the way at the dollar store. My fiancé noted she "mean mugged" him on the way back, and he was done by this time with the place (the most patient and understanding person I know!) which said a lot. We left disappointed at the entire experience. While we understand this is not a daily occurrence, as first time customers we felt unwelcome and upset about our experience. The lady behind the counter with cloudy white rimmed glasses and a bad attitude told me to go stand at the bathroom door and wait for the person in the bathroom to hand over the key. They have several tables for seating in an area to the right of where you order ice cream. My husband and I each ordered a cookie hot fudge sundae - mine was peanut butter cookie with chocolate oreo ice cream - oh yeah, go big or go home - and it was wonderful. The neon signs near the front door of Red Fox Creamery was a wonderful welcome for someone who was trying to find a place to eat lunch while waiting for downtown employees to get back from their lunch break. Although this place promotes their fresh ice-cream, I walked in for a turkey and swiss sub, kettle chips, and a soda. While waiting, it made me overjoyed to see that this place is a family, Christian establishment. There are inspiring quotes on the walls, a corner with a Lego table and toys, and a section where kids could buy gently used books for less than a $1. I loved the vintage items on display. One of the employees brought my plate and cup out to me with a smiling face and a sincere, "Enjoy!" coming from her as she goes back behind the front counter.
