Our first visit to a Red Heat Tavern was years ago. Since then, our meals have continually disappointed. The fish tacos were boring, made with limp lettuce, barely any sauce (who knows what it was, it was tasteless on two out of three) and one taco had only half the amount, one morsel of fish on it while the other tacos had two pieces. It lacked any shredded cabbage, cilantro, and a creamy, tangy sauce or fresh lime juice that one would expect. The mac and cheese was basic, although we thought made for vegetarians (waitress confirmed) had a piece of bacon or meat in it and would have been nice to have a side of garlic bread. My IPA was fine. The only saving grace was that my partner could order the Grosling's Ginger Beer off the menu as an alternative to the non-alcoholic offerings and average sodas. Red Heat was loud. LOUD. Music was blasting. The place was uncomfortably loud with conversation. Waitress had to yell. That said, we won't be back. read more

We immediately sat at the bar. Pomegranate martini was excellent, the margs were strong and offered with salt, sugar or tajin. Our food came out so fast, all hot and ready. The burger was cooked medium rare wonderfully and the garlic mashed potatoes could have been softer. The steak tips were also cooked medium rare and very good. The parm fries left something to be desired, I wish we had chosen sweet potato fries. The Caesar salad was lightly dressed and heavy on the parm cheese. The fried chicken was excellent especially with the mashed potatoes and green beans. The white gravy on the side was delicious. A very pleasant time for a Sunday night, I am still impressed with the speed of the service! The BBQ burger with bacon was around $18 and the salad was about $13. Great find! We came in on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. Plenty of parking in the lot, no wait and hostess was so sweet. Our waiter was great as well. It was a tad loud inside so it made it difficult to talk but otherwise was nice, clean and spacious- plenty of booths and tables, bar area looked great too. I do wish there was a sour cream option for the nachos on the grub hub app. I like sour cream with my nachos but there is not option on the grub hub app. But this is my favorite restaurant now.
