I only recommend this place if you are a glutton for punishment, and find joy in being treated like trash. I went into my appointment bubbly and excited for my friend and I to get meaningful tattoos for someone we have lost, and to get a bff matching "freckle tattoo," too. Due to my depression, I have not gotten out too much in the past couple years, so this was a big day for me on my healing journey. I drove over an hour away from NJ. From the moment we first interacted with Rob at the appointment, his tone was demeaning, condescending, disrespectful, annoyed, disgusted, disgruntled, and flat out mean. My friend got her tattoo done first, and when I stood up to take a 2 second video to document our special day/tattoos, he snapped at me that I needed to sit down bc I was a peripheral distraction. He was annoyed I asked him if a bathroom was closeby, and told me I had to wait instead of him just telling me where it was. When it was my turn to be tattooed, I asked if he could put a little paw print over the "i" in my dogs name. He said no. I asked if he could put a heart there? He scoffed and begrudgingly said "ugh, yeah. I guess?" When he did the placement I was unsure if I wanted the front or the back of my arm, so I asked him to do the stencil on the back of my arm too, in which he was annoyed. I was unsure of how the tattoo fit my arm and the placement, and as I stood there and debated with my friend, he offered no insight, just sat there silent and looking disgusted. Meanwhile I am standing there holding my dogs toy, who passed away, just trying to get it right. I have anxiety and the more I could not decide, and the more he made me feel uncomfortable, I was like nervously touching my arm in areas, in which he yelled at me "I TOLD YOU. DONT TOUCH YOUR ARM. THATS NOT SANITARY." Then when I nervously put my phone on the arm of the chair, again got berated for not being sanitary. The more discomfort I felt, I got upset and undecided on the tattoo, to which I offered a solution to us just standing ther awkwardly getting no direction or input from him, and I said "can you just do the freckle tattoo for me while i decide on the placement for my dog tattoo?" to which he appallingly replied, "well I am not your servant." Up until that point, l'd let go being berated for literally every word I said and move I made in the presence of this man, but that was enough for me. I told him the way he had treated me was unacceptable, and that I no longer felt comfortable getting the tattoo for my dog. Since my friend had already gotten her freckle tattoo, I felt I had to at least do that, because it was supposed to be meaningful for us, and I didn't want us leaving with only her having got it done. Defeats the whole purpose. So he did the freckle tattoo for me, then said he would just keep my security deposit($50). So I paid $50 for a freckle tattoo, smaller than a pencil eraser and to be treated in an abusive manner. I waited a few days to post this, to see if he would reach out to try to take accountability, but nothing. I am far from a sensitive person, and I know how to defend myself against bullies, so I post this for the people who might be more sensitive than I, who are unable to stand up for themselves. I would not want anyone else to ever have to go through the experience that I did, as it was emotionally damaging even for me. read more

So much to say....Robert did my tattoo for my baby Ignatius who I lost back in January . I am in awe and so overjoyed over the work he did. Robert was very caring and helpful when I was trying to come up with a concept . He put up with countless emails and questions. When it came to consultation he was very easy to speak with and offered concise, honest advice and support. This was especially helpful bc this was my first tattoo. When my appointment came up Rob made sure to explain everything and helped me feel very welcome and calm. He spent 2+ hours working on my tattoo. After the tattoo was finished he kindly snapped a picture so I could see it right away and also gave me very clear and concise instructions for care. I'm sure that the art they do here is great. I scheduled an appointment with Christina to get my first tat done and she seemed very nice. Unfortunately, the night before my appointment my mother was in the emergency room and the day of my appointment, I had to work late. As soon as I got home from work, exhausted and trying to care for my sick mother, my cell phone rang. Christina reminded me of the appointment that I was now fifteen minutes late for. I apologized profusely for not having been able to call, explained my situation, and told her that I would not be able to make the appointment. Then Christina said "okay" and hung up on me! I've been receiving Tattoo's from owner Rob Fiore for quite some time--he has left the Ink Well in Montgomeryville to open up his own tattoo shop in Lansdale. The shop is gorgeous, with private areas for tattooing while still maintaining an open, clean and professional atmosphere. The facilities are undoubtedly safe, sterile, and equipped with state of the art equipment, and the best artists in the area. This past Friday I received a tattoo on my ribs/side area from Corin, a great artist at this new facility--he took my draft and stayed true to it's design and integrity creating a truly custom piece reflective of what I wanted it to look like. He was surprisingly gentle, and made me extremely comfortable during the entire process. I had a tattoo done a few months ago and it faded very quickly (black) and needs some corrections on lines. I have called the shop NUMEROUS time and I receive the same message every time "the mailbox belonging to (267) 263-2615 is full, please hang up". Day and night! I have also submitted 3 messages through the website and have received no response. Extremely unprofessional and I don't know how they run a business that is not reachable by phone. I have many tattoos from all over the world. Some awesome and some... eh... I know good artists from bad. My nephew wanted me to buy him his first tattoo as a graduation gift. I live in DC, so didn't know any of the artists in the area. With a little research I found these guys. My brother, my nephew and I all got tattoos. The artists, Christina and Corin, were very accommodating. We gave them the artwork and they made very slight modifications, but really listened to what we wanted. Christina did a bad ass swallow on me. I couldn't be happier with it. Corin was really cool to my brother and nephew. And he did a great job. It was a great experience for their first tattoos. I remember my first tattoo. It was a pretty shitty one and I remember the artist being a pretentious prick. These guys are super cool and reasonable. I highly recommend them. read more

Totally lovely. I chose this place because I knew they had a female piercer, which mattered to me. I went here to get a septum piercing, which I'd never had before, and Eva, the staff piercer, was sweet, professional, and efficient -- just perfect. She did a great job, made me feel at ease, and the piercing didn't hurt at all. She also steered me away from the jewelry I wanted, suggesting a different type that she said tended to heal better. It's been several weeks now and I've had no problems with healing and am very pleased with my piercing. Everyone on staff was friendly and kind and helped me feel at ease, and the studio itself is pretty and cool-looking. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get pierced, and I plan to go back myself soon to get a change of jewelry and possibly a new piercing. I've been getting tattooed since I was 18 and Red Lotus has done it best. Dan Mugrauer AKA DMUG is the best artist I've worked with both on a professional level as well as being a great guy! He has done nothing short of amaze me every time I get tattooed and my tats are even recognized out in public by his large number of Instagram followers. The staff is awesome and is always dropping in to see the status of the work and the atmosphere is very relaxed. It's a great place for your first tattoo or to continue a sleeve. Red Lotus has been my go-to for piercings (and now tattoos) for the past few years. I've gotten piercings at a couple of other shops (Infinite in Philly and Liberty in Skippack), and none of them made me as happy as Red Lotus has. The shop is clean, well lit, and has a nice atmosphere. (They also play really great music, which is cool when you're stuck in a chair for a few hours!) The staff is friendly, kind, and super accommodating. I can't stress that enough. When I came in to get my nose pierced, I already had my nostril done, but I wanted another one above the existing piercing. When I explained what I wanted to Eva, she was happy to do it for me and it turned out great. I went quite a while without going into Red Lotus because I wasn't sure what I wanted. Then, a few months ago, Dan Mugrauer posted a flash sheet on Instagram that was inspired by a few of my favorite bands, and I was quick to email him about getting one of the pieces on my shoulder. After quite a few emails, we set a date and I went in to get it done. Dan is a super friendly, incredibly talented, and kind person. The tattoo he did for me turned out exactly as I had hoped. I liked it so much that I made another appointment with him and had another tattoo within less than a month. The second one was a custom piece. I told him what I wanted, showed him a few similar pieces that I liked, and he drew a design up. When the tattoo was done - I was ecstatic. It was just like what I would imagine finding the perfect wedding dress to be like. I had an idea of what I wanted, and the finished piece completely blew me away. Dan Mugrauer is the man to go to!!!!!!!!!!! He has done 3 tattoos on me and I am absolutely in LOVEEEEE with them. His artwork, personality, professionalism, humor, and talent is as good as it gets. I will NEVER let anyone else do my tattoos because he is the only person I trust. He also doesn't make anything awkward at all. I thought at first it was going to be awkward since I didn't know him the first time and it was gonna be dead silent, but no. He is so sweet, funny, and will engage in all types of conversations. I've had numerous works of body art over the past 10+ years. Unfortunately, my original artist passed away early in life. When I took my daughter to get her bellybutton pierced for her 16th birthday, I had the opportunity to see Christina work. The next day, I decided to have a new piece done. Since then, not only have did I let my daughter get her first tat, and another one on the way, at 17 by Christina, but have had new and pre-existing work enhanced by her. She takes her craft and talent very seriously. In waiting for my appointments, I've seen her make extremely tasteful suggestions to pending clients' ideas. She is wise and gifted beyond her years. Attempted to schedule appointment over the phone and was told to come in to the shop. Apparently appointments can only be made in person? Showed up at the shop to be ignored by the receptionist for at least 10 minutes. I could understand the behavior if the place was busy but the shop was empty, with the only customer getting ready to leave. One artist was sitting at the counter playing on his cell phone, another walking a customer out the door and a third roaming around in the back. After being told that no artists were available for the current day, I was told I could make an appointment. I agreed and waited as the receptionist began writing on paper. Assuming she would check for an available appointment, I stood waiting for another 10 minutes. Finally the receptionist looks back up to ask if I needed anything else, did I want to see any of the artists books? I ask about an appointment? She tells me nothing is available for tommorrow. Fed up at this point, I leave the shop. Not really sure how to get work done here but judging from the lack of customers, neither does anybody else. read more
