We hired this company to take down a tree they agreed to do it for $1500 because my mom just got out of the hospital but then they left an extremely unsafe pile next to my house, one that could roll right in to my moms bedroom!! They agreed to cut the tree down between the lowest fork and the squirrel hole and make nice piles that we could move ourselves and definitely did not do what they said. I do not recommend using them. When I called to have them come and do what they agreed to he told me he will send one truck to do a few pieces but not today it would be whenever they could!! This is the 3rd or fourth time Red oak has been to our house; this time it was to remove a large locust and a white oak and grind the stumps. They are busier than a long tailed cat in a room full of rockers but came out within 10 days, the guys worked hard and cleaned up afterwards very well. Absolutely the WORST crew I ever dealt with. My neighbor was getting a tree removed which she told us about. She was not told that us as the neighbors had to move our car. So here it is 7:00am on Monday morning and they ring the doorbell and wake everyone up. My roommate comes to the door in her robe and the crew member told her to move her car out of OUR driveway. I said that was VERY rude and unprofessional. Then he tells me "well if you don't move, your car might get damaged. " I said "yup and that would be on your company." Called the manager (Alex) and got Absolutely no where. What a joke of a company. Take no accountability for how rude and unprofessional they were. I had a 50 ft maple tree have 1/3rd of its size fall onto my house after a microburst hit our subdivision. I called Red Oak Tree Service and they came out the next day to give assess the tree and provide a quote. After a little haggling, we negoiated a price and they came out the next day. The communication after that back to them was through text messaging which I did not care for. Everything was going good and they were making quick work of the tree. They put down plywood sheets to spin the Vermeer machine in the yard so they wouldn't do grass damage which I liked. When they got to the last large branch laying on my roof, I tried to warn them it was laying on 2 skylights. The operator of the machine really didn't speak English and the other worker barely spoke English. I told them to lift straight up an be extra careful. Well they shattered the glass on one skylight. I called the owner and got another message saying to text which I found annoying. He finally called and I told him what happened and first said these things happen. I replied that is why I warned them. I am trying to go through my insurance now. After that, they tree was down and they leaf blowed the whole yard and did a great clean up. I asked when the stump grinder was coming. They did not know. 45 minutes later it showed up. Then there were large tree trunks that were too big for the grinder. I asked when those would be picked up. They said either today or tomorrow but could not confirm. They were picked up early the next day and they did clean up everything. Overall they do a great job but the whole texting and not coordinating times was frustrating. I would have given 4 stars but because they broke my skylight which I warned them about I think 3 is fair. read more

These guys were awesome!! I had many trees and branches that had to come down and a small parcel on my 1 acre lot that was overgrown and turning into a jungle. I called on a Friday to arrange for a quote, they came on Saturday to quote a very reasonable price and were here on Monday morning at 7am. Finished the job in about 8 hours. I have used Red Oak Tree service in past. They are fair in price, efficient, and respectful. I am writing this as they just left. Juan, responded yesterday to my request for a quote, which was agreed upon and job scheduled next day (today). The crew arrived early, so we moved vehicles allowing them to pull into drive close to tree removal area. I discussed with the crew foreman what trees to be removed, what stumps to be ground, and a tree to be trimmed for a canopy as lower branches were dead but not entire tree (at their suggestion so they do care about trees and don't just remove for the $$). These guys know their job, are efficient and cleaned the area very well. Just waiting for the stump grinder and truck to pick up trunks. Would not only recommend, but would use again. Can't help but recommend these guys. They do great work. They work fast and at a very fair price. Had a tree come down a few years ago and they were thousands less than the competition. I've used them multiple times since they. I just had two huge dead oaks taken out. They also took out another dead tree T no additional charge and ground a stump. They will negotiate a fair price. I had a couple of quotes to take down two trees in my back yard and grind out the stumps. Both were more than I wanted to pay as I had researched approximate costs for this type of job. So I called Red Oak. I had used them in 2020 for a similar job and thought they did great! They were able to quote on the same day, it was much lower and included grinding out the stumps. They said they could do the job the next day but we asked they do it the following week. They showed up about 6:45 am and started cutting by 7:15. The job was completed by 11:00am. Nice price, quick job and did a decent clean up job. However, they did damage one of our arborvitaes. They apologized, but no offer to reduce price. To be fair, I wasn't home and my wife didn't ask. If you just need trees cleared, I would use Red Oak but if you're removing trees in a tight area...you may want to spend a little more. read more

Wow! The company needs to train their trimmers! My beautiful honey locust tree is now hollow on the inside and my neighbors crab apple tree...yikes! They trimmed it all the way down to the main branch instead of a couple feet from the roof line. She barely has a tree left! We hired them for our HOA to trim and prune...geez! We have a row of established (currently 16 ft) green giant arborvitaes in our front yard, both for curb appeal and as a privacy fence. We also had a tall dying hickory which lost most of it's branches in the previous storm. This tree was now bare except for one big side branch all the way on top, pointing toward our row of arbs. We were worried it would eventually fall onto the arborvitaes, so called Red Oak Tree Service to come take the hickory down. Now normally the way it's done is, they'd send a guy up there with a chainsaw to cut off the branch, and then they would attach a rope at the top to guide the tree's fall as they take it down. But these here guys decided to skip the first part, went straight to cutting down the tree as is, trying to guide it with a rope. And as would be expected, that giant side branch pulled the hickory in the direction of our very nice arbs, and down it went onto 2 of them! So I get out there, see one of my arbs with the top 5 ft cleaved clean off. The other arb also had the top 1 ft broken off, and had much of it's side branches sheared off. Accidents happen, but this ain't that...this was just negligent. They decided to cut corners, and this is the result. Worse still, dealing with the owner wasn't awesome. He was pretty confrontational about it, at first just offering to not charge me and call it even. Oh wow, no charge for extensive damage to my trees, what a bargain! Anyways, finally I was able to squeeze $600 out of him for this, which doesn't even cover the cost of a single 10 ft green giant, let alone a 16 footer. But it is what it is. We've used a number of local tree services over the years, I will say Red Oak is probably cheapest we've found. But there's a reason for the lower pricing, as they say you get what you pay for. read more
