Aug. 2023 had a water leak at the meter. RED is used by Universal homes in Prescott Valley. After they dug the yard up and replaced a bad part they installed, they did not put the yard back anywhere near the way it was! The receptionist would not not allow us to talk to the owner. Universal homes had to use their landscaper to repair our yard. ***Now we have another leak at the meter and RED is telling us we'll be responsible for the cost! read more

Called R.E.D. pumbing to have a pressure tank moved and a shut off valve put on my gas line. Scheduled an appointment for an estimate the guy said it would take 2 maybe 3 hours. I said o.k. He said someone would call me back to schedule an appt. I got a call and appt was scheduled to have work done between10-12. Guy showed up late and then looked at the job and said it would take 5 hrs he was only scheduled to give me an estimate not do the work. I called them to find out what is going on. We are new to the area, our home came with a water softener that we had questions regarding it's functioning properly. Called RED, was greeted by a very pleasant and professional woman who informed me they would send a person out to check it for us, no cost . Eric was on time, professional and very knowledgeable. My hot water heater exploded last week. Yes, it exploded. I had never heard anything like that before, not even a blown transformer. I'm sure it was amplified because the water closet was the next wall over! It was the Monday before Thanksgiving & I'm sure you can imagine my panic! I called around for quotes & availability. Not only was R.E.D. Plumbing available, but they were very competitively priced. They were able to send someone out on Wednesday before the long holiday weekend! I was without water from Monday when the water company came out until R.E.D. showed up Wednesday morning. (Even with the water turned off to the water heater, water continued to leak so it had to be shut off at the main.) Chris from R.E.D. was amazing & so patient with all of my questions. Very professional & very friendly. He even gave me tips on how to direct the water out of the heater closet to prevent further drywall damage. I'm saving their card for any future plumbing needs, & I highly recommend R.E.D. Plumbing for anyone else needing plumbing work, too! read more

The day before the appointment, I got an email that it would now be 6-8 hours. They have only been rude, implying I'm lying and not speaking with me anymore. I called and scheduled an appointment. They said Wednesday at 10am to noon. I said great! When they didn't show up or call, I called them and they claimed that my appointment was for Noon-2pm and that I was their next appointment. At 2:10 pm I called back again, and they told me that he "was on his way" and they'd have him call me. It's 2:20, no call. Pretty disappointed that they couldn't just communicate with me about needing to reschedule. BAD customer service from the receptionist as well. We had a water heater that was 12 years old and it decided to go out this morning. I called R.E.D. Plumbing hoping that they could squeeze us in since I like taking hot showers. They said they were busy but would try to get someone out as soon as possible. Sure effort about 2 hours later I get a call and a plumber named Josh came out to take a look. After inspecting the heater he presented to me my options and I decided on a new heater. He mentioned that he had other appointments and might not be able to do it today, but after a while he decided that would install it today. Josh went and got the new heater, and drained the old one when while he was gone. He came back and as I looked on, he explained the process changed some parts to make everything work better for me in the future. I felt very comfortable with Josh's work and would highly recommend him. Great service and I didn't feel like I was getting 'ripped off'. I would definitely use them again. read more

I watched this vehicle at Roberts Market on the morning of Tuesday 12 - 17 - 19 pull up to one of the only three pumps for school buses, larger vehicles and other CDL vehicles can use. The guy got out of his truck, went in for the coffee was gone for 10 minutes or so and then came back to his vehicle. He didn't even use the fuel pump. If this is how much disrespect he's got for people around him then I hasten to think of the quality of workmanship involved her. read more

A big shout out to technician Ian! Our relatively new (three years) house has a very complicated electric water heater with a "smart" circulation pump that is designed to provide hot water anywhere in the house within about ten seconds. It worked well until a couple of weeks ago, when suddenly it was taking four or five MINUTES for hot water to reach the furthest points in the home. We called a different plumbing company, but they either didn't understand how the system worked or seemed to think there was no problem. We then contacted R.E.D. Plumbing, which had initially installed the water heater. Ian approached the issue with a view to taking the least invasive and least costly action first, before trying a more expensive and complicated solution. We agreed with that course. When that first attempt failed, he returned for a second visit and correctly diagnosed and repaired the problem. He also suggested options in case we need to replace the circulation pump with a different product in the future. He was very knowledgeable about this particular system, which was exactly what we needed. read more

In 2019 I needed several different things done to my plumbing, some repairs, some additions, etc and I knew it would be expensive. I got estimates from four different companies and R.E.D. was the cheapest by far. Kevin did great work, was friendly and efficient. However, despite replacing a washer and providing me with several more, different but similar washers, the hose spigot continued to leak. After trying to replace the stem myself, I decided to call the experts. Hidden cost doubled bill! I called and asked how much it would cost to run a camera down my sewer line. I was told $115. The servicemen came out ran the camera and spent a total of 15 min. I then received an invoice for $220. When I called to see why the bill was more then I was quoted I was told that the camera was $115 and it cost $105 for an hour of labor to run the camera. This was very frustrating that when asked for a quote they did not give me the total cost of the service or mention that labor would be in addition to the cost of the camera. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!! Especially frustrating because I called serval plumbing companies and chose them because they gave the lowest quote. Could have saved $60 if I used someone else. read more

Outstanding Whole-House Water Softener and Conditioner! RED Plumbing installed our whole-house XT60 Water Softener and KDC60 Water Conditioner 5 weeks ago in our home. Living in Prescott Valley before our installation, we noticed that the water was very hard water, quite cloudy when poured from the sink or even from the filtered refrigerator water, and had a noticeable chlorine smell. After RED installed our water softener and conditioner, our water tastes great and is no longer cloudy and the chlorine smell is gone! Since chlorine is not meant to be consumed, I am glad for that. Our house is plumbed for an R-O water filtration system, and we didn't even put one in because we no longer need it. In addition, my whole house gets the benefit of this much improved water: showers, cooking, cleaning (which is much easier as water spots and calcium build up is no longer an issue). A side benefit is that my hair dye last longer and doesn't fade. My hair grows out, but the color stays in my hair because there is almost no chlorine in the water. In addition, we noticed that our laundry is super soft! I went and washed even the clean stuff in the linen closet just so it could be soft too. We don't have to use water softeners any more - a money saver - or dishwasher rinse aid. Dishes come out looking clean and sparkly. My skin and hair feel better too. I was having a bit of itchy skin before and I just didn't really think about it... until it was gone. The maintenance for the unit is as simple as it gets. We do have to add salt (so far, not yet though), but there are no filters to change, clean, or replace. The systems are designed to be self-cleaning by running a regeneration cycle. Because of the water conditioner, there is very little salt remaining in the water. It is perfectly safe for our plants and they are thriving. I highly recommend the 2 units for outstanding water, and I recommend RED Plumbing as they were was very professional in their installation. Andrea S. (April, 2019) read more
