Our main house water shut-off valve needed to be replaced, and Refuge was able to squeeze us into his schedule within days. His pricing was very reasonable, especially considering responsiveness we received. Refuge Plumbing may be a newer business, but Michael is definitely not new to plumbing. This is my mom's vacation home and she is used to my dad being able to do all repairs. After losing him she has been putting off repairs because she's afraid of shoddy work and getting ripped off.... God bless capitalism and the ability to run or work for a large, successful company. However, I prefer to give my money to the little guy who is just starting out and needs the experience and references, not to mention the business. It's also nice to deal with a person and not an AI chatbot as found on one of the big plumbers named for a famous Founding Father. We had a major leak in the main water line of our house. It has been an ongoing issue for the last couple of years. Unfortunately, the contractor ran the line under a triple wide driveway across our front yard. After having this line patched three times, we were done. I called MIKE, the owner of REFUGE PLUMBING out to see what he could do for us. Aside from being a very, very nice man, he is also an excellent plumber. After not having water for a week, he was able to get the line up, and running, within a couple of days. We had him reroute the pipe from under the driveway. It is now straight from the meter up, the side of the house, into the garage. He also replaced all connections to the water meter, and irrigation system. Michael was on time,knowledgeable and professional. He quickly and correctly identified several problems that I had presented to him and was able to fix all but one at the time of the original visit. There was an inconsequential delay in getting and installing a part that he didn't carry on his truck that was, I think, due to a miscommunication. Michael charges by the job not by the hour so if one job is progressing on its own(like draining or flushing)and you ask him to do something else while he's waiting,you will be charged separately for that second job. My only caution would be to be sure that you know what you will be charged before he starts the work.
