I have been so grateful to see this shop survive the pandemic. Its new location on Whyte Ave across from the CIBC has decent parking and you can access a few other shops (and of course the bank) while you're there, but I have also really enjoyed the online shop. My friend and I text back and forth photos of the things we think the other person would like, and it's very easy to order and choose either delivery or pickup. I've snagged some cherished pieces this way. The inventory is well curated with brands that are typically ultra-expensive in the wild. I like seeing things show up that would only otherwise be available in a niche setting like a dress shop attached to a resort, or some of the better-known beauties like Smoking Lily. Way back in the old days there was a second-hand shop called Zoryana just off Whyte and I still have clothes from there that I treasure -- the eye in the curation here reminds me of that Zoryana flair, with upper crust overtones. I don't expect rock-bottom prices for one of a kind quality items, though if you wait, a thing that does not sell will be given a sale price more in keeping with what reviewers here seem to be expecting from consignment. Usually the really cool stuff sells before that can happen, though. A NWT blush coloured embossed leather jacket at thirty bucks is one of the faves I picked up there -- tag said $129 -- seemed pretty great to me! One of the biggest draws of Red Pony is the people who own and operate the shop. Yannick, Janel, and Cherry light up Instagram showing off items from local clothing and jewelry designers and makers, and putting together outfits from items in the shop. These are women who are happy and successful in an Edmonton small business venture, and that in itself is inspiring. Going to one of their pop-ups guarantees you will have fun while finding something to occupy the front hanger slot of your closet circuit. For me, consignment shops are a lot about atmosphere. Some gather too much inventory, and become somewhat oppressive and dark with it. Red Pony always seems just right, with enough but not too much, and a real art at displaying things so you can't just walk past them without looking more closely. I've never had an encounter with Red Pony that didn't make me happier, even if just looking at their online shop. Definitely worth trying to see if it has the same effect on you! read more

I love the uniqueness and the quality of the items at Red Pony, even if the prices are usually somewhat high for consignment items in my opinion. I've stopped in many times over the years to grab a nice dress for an event, or even just a few staples for my wardrobe here and there. I definitely recommend checking out their website to see what they have, but it's always worth a visit to peruse in person! read more

I came into this store as I was having dinner at Upper Crust next door. The first thing I noticed were the selection of shoes displayed to the left. A pair of silver flower ecco shoes caught my eye and they were $26. They had a red dot on them and I asked the associate at the counter if they were half price which she told me they were. A decent price but they were a little scuffed on the side. I checked out the other shoes, but the ones I liked weren't my size. At the front near are items with 50% off and marked with a red dot. The left has a small men's section. Towards the right back is a selection of purses and bags, and clothes for women. I saw brands such as Joe Fresh, Banana Republic, and Nygard. Most of the pieces were in good condition but many of the sizes were small. They do carry new Hue leggings and infinity scarves. When I entered the store and browsed, I wasn't acknowledged by the associate, who was behind the counter and then putting away clothes after someone had come out of the change room. I think Red Pony is a neat little consignment store. I like the look of it and they do a good job selecting eye catching pieces to hang in the front window. The glittery purple tank I saw when I walked past certainly caught my attention. I was impressed with the selection of items here, the organization of everything, and the overall cleanliness of the store. Here's what I was disappointed in: the prices. Everything in here was affordable, but not any more affordable than I could buy elsewhere. A cute H&M dress hung on the racks that I totally would have bought, but it was $32, and my best guess is that it would cost around $30 at H&M. read more

I like this boutique. It's cute, it's close, and they're selective about what they put on their racks. I found some cute dresses in prime condition for $35 that would have cost around $70-80 if purchased new. However, like other people have mentioned, there is a lot of H&M, Forever21 items that are priced the same amount in those stores - if not more - and it's a little disheartening, because these are used items, not new, and I feel the owners of the store didn't do their homework before pricing. That aside, I'll probably wander through this store again, just because most items are reasonably priced for the quality you get :) read more

When it comes to consignment versus thrift shopping I typically lean towards thrift shopping as I find stores try and get almost the original retail price back when consigning but my curiosity won out as I was passing this place so I decided to stop and take a look. There doesn't seem to be much in the way of larger sizes and all I found for plus sizes was a 2XL tank top. Most of the stock seemed to fall under dressy casual office wear from great brand names like Tommy Hilfiger,Lacoste,and Anne Klein. I was quite surprised though that they also carry clothes from less expensive names like G21 and Joe Fresh. I didn't consign anything but I think they have a high standard for what they take in as nothing looked worn or had that awful detergent smell you notice when stuff has been in the washer for too long. For a consignment shop I felt the prices were pretty reasonable considering the creep upwards I have noticed in prices at big chain thrift shops like Value Village. The lack of pus sizes means I probably wont be making this a regular stop for shopping but I did leave with a cute gold top from Forever 21 for eight dollars. If I was in the neighborhood I definitely wouldn't mind coming back in to dig for another random treasure and invest some more money into a great small business. read more

I loved Red Pony! They have a great selection of brands and clothes. Usually pretty new looking and fashionable. The big draw back for me are the prices. A lot of stuff is really over priced for used pieces. Like a target brand dress for $30. But their 50% stuff is really great and that's what I go for. Everything that doesn't sell within 8 weeks ends up there. A couple times I've gone during their business overs (over my lunch!) and they've been closed, as well. I can see somebody at the till but the door is locked. Always pretty frustrating since it is a 10 min walk and I'm purposefully using my lunch to go. read more

Brought some items in to inquire about consignment and got a bunch of sass from the counter staff about it being a huge wait to even get an appointment to be considered for consignment. I understand that's how it works, but the sass was not necessary. Not an awesome business model! Will not be shopping there OR bringing in any consignment items. Owners need to talk to their staff about being a bit more down to earth. Got a very snooty vibe. read more

Red Pony Con. is a cute little clothing boutique that carries brand items through a various range of prices, from Old Navy's shirts to Gucci caps! True to a consignment company, they have a good price for most things they carry. If you can get a trendy shirt for $24 that has a bit of a cowboy style to it, that's great! Although it is a potentially great idea, they've got a very limited stock and for most T's, shirts, jackets they have just one size in each. So, if you like a shirt it better be your size or you're out of luck. Having said that, it is always worth taking a peek at their collection every now and then, since you never know - you could get a great looking shirt that fits you right for an affordable price. That's one thing that really stands out - their prices. It's not too expensive. I can speak of the men's collection. They've got T's, shirts, a few jeans, a bunch of hats and caps, a few ties etc. Nothing terrific, but totally worth a peek. I found a really smart looking sweater vest kind of thing which seems really thick and great for a mid-layer in winter. It's sleeveless and seems almost feminine, but with a thin shaded full-sleeve sweater under it, would seem great! It cost me about $30 and I think that's totally worth it because the material is actually very good and heavy. I came here primarily because it was on the Passport. I did enjoy the couple of scan-throughs I had and would likely visit this place again, come early winter, for some cool new sidekicks. read more

If you are anything above size 8 (M) avoid this place. You will find only a couple of dresses no bigger than size 12. Things are all mixed size wise, so that's when you notice that 80% of the store is size small. They also take lower quality items like Old Navy, so sifting through it quality wise can be tough. read more

I think Red Pony is one of the few consignment stores in that is geared toward younger women and for that you get a bonus star! I have dropped of items twice at Red Pony and have always come away with a decent sized cheque (considering the clothes were headed for the donation bin). I would like to chalk that up to a good sales team at Red Pony who does a good job knowing what they have in the store and can pass that along to customers. I also think it's a testament that they price their items fairly since people are buying them. I've spent some time and shopped the store and I think they have a great selection for women in my age range. It's a small shop so it's not too overwhelming to sift through the racks, and I also really like their jewelry display. You can find some really neat things in there. I hope they find success in their new location in Garneau! I think the area suits them well. read more

This fun consignment boutique is a work-in-progress. Formerly known as Robes & Relics, they renamed themselves and moved to its current location. They re-opened in this new space on July 1 2011. Street parking is available, but be warned: the meter parking on Whyte Ave is 25 cents per 5 minutes. Instead, fins some free parking just South of Whyte Ave. There's a small section of menswear (lots of western shirts) and about 6 racks of women's fashion. there are also shelves of hats, footwear and other accessories. There isn't a lot of stock to peruse, but I suspect that relocating is a factor. I'm sure they're just starting to gain exposure in their new place. Anways, it's small but spacious, and there are a few dressing rooms. Great deals,too. I bought a DKNY blouse for $24, perfect for work! If you're walking along Whyte, I strongly recommend a side-trip to Red Pony. You might find a stylish, reasonably priced jacket, sweater or pair of jeans. I really enjoy going into Red Pony. It's small, and full, but not overwhelmingly full. I have purchased any number of cute shoes and accessories, at what I feel are good prices (A shiny yellow leather belt for $8? Don't mind if I do!) But I don't buy a lot of clothing. I have, back when it was Robes and Relics (and Zoryanas before that). But now the largest size I seem to find is an 8... It's a consignment store, they can't control what comes in, but geesh. Still, I live in hope. And I'll keep going in because the stock changes over really quickly. Yes, they carry H & M (and clones) styles and products, but I've also seen Cinder and Smoke, BXBG, Fluevog, and various vintage pieces. read more

Had troubles finding the place despite the RED exterior and had to park a couple blocks away but it was a lovely boutique! Not over-crowded, some good deals in the sale racks and some fair-priced high-end labels though some overpriced low-end labels. (people, just donate those!) The sales associate was friendly and helpful and the variety of styles and sizes was good. I would return if in the neighbourhood but the location and parking are a deterrent for me. Scored an Anthro-brand pair of pants and high-end cardi. Almost bought a pair of William Rast pants with a torn pocket but noticed in time - good thing b/c all sales are final! The owner (I think) offered 20% discount but I left them behind. She said she normally returns them to the seller if damaged. All in all a good experience, but thrifting will continue to be my primary source for secondhand clothing (and donating rather than consigning)! read more

I have been a customer and a client at the red pony, the lady that runs the store was so rude , she treated me so poorly another lady bringing clothes in to consign followed me out of the store and said she was beyond rude to her as well! we stood outside and ranted to each other that we would never be back. most of her clothing is from h&m and target and is overpriced !yet she declined my true religion jeans. she has no idea what is in style and up to date. read more
