What a phenomenal birthday weekend getaway! I desperately needed to relax, and what better way to…read moredo it than at a bed and breakfast? This location is close enough to home (Savannah) and far enough that I don't get bothered by the drive there and back. We pulled up on an extremely rainy Friday night in December, and the drive down the driveway was so lovely! I felt like Horse Stamp Inn was eagerly awaiting my arrival. December may be a dreary month to visit because of the cold and the rain, but it's lovely for all the holiday decor! Pam greeted us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the home. We were the only couple staying that weekend so we were able to glance at all the rooms. They even have an elevator! We stayed in the Seabiscuit room, which is the most luxurious room they have to offer. You'll be presented with a bed made for a Queen, all the pillows you can imagine, a day bed, a large walk in closet, a jacuzzi spa and his and her shower (one shower, two shower heads) and sink. Plus you have access to the private balcony that overlooks the home's entrance, with a view of the horses Belle and Sarge in a distance. I'm telling you, you'll feel like a Queen. Downstairs they had a coffee, tea and hot chocolate bar, with lemonade and sweet tea set out too. Tim and Pam were lovely hosts that really made us feel welcomed and cared for. I'm not going to reveal what breakfast consisted of, nor did I take any pictures of that, so I'll leave it to the Innkeepers to surprise you with that. I don't want to ruin the breakfast part of your stay! I highly recommend this to any couple considering a getaway!

Let's talk…read moreabout a beautiful historic intimate location in the heart of downtown Savannah with the charm and sophisticated architecture that an elegant event would bring. The Room at Common is top notch and believe me there is absolutely nothing common here. Let's give a moment of respect to the Executive Head Chef Shawn and his entire accompanying staff whose impeccable attention to detail in every dish that exited his kitchen demonstrated the depth and ability of everyone who had a hand in slicing, cutting, baking, and curating the most delectable dishes I have found in quite a while. You need an outlandish charcuterie board to get you in the mood to begin the eating festival. The sliders had the perfect texture and the bread was tenderly placed with a delicate sauce. The tomato basil soup in a bread bowl was like heaven. The fried green tomatoes were also a favorite. The short ribs with the smothered collard greens and the cornbread were on an another planet of goodness. You want fresh local oysters on the half shelf pulled from the water only hours ago, well they got you right in house with them lying on ice and a professional shucker right there to serve you with a beautiful smile. Did I mention the dessert bar? Freshly baked cookies, macaroons, mini red velvet cake shooters, lemon puff pastries, mini cheesecakes, and other treats that would leave the sweetest sweet tooth, toothless. The food was Southern, but wound up a notch. It was not boring. It was not common. If you're in Savannah for a work conference or need a place to meet to discuss business with your team, host a holiday party, or have a small wedding reception, do not skip The Room at Common. One thing I appreciate is how attentive the staff is to each guest. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. You feel as if you're one of the family coming to visit. The cocktails are delicious. The wine selection is fantastic and carefully crafted with an experienced sommelier in house. I'm telling you that you will kick yourself if you don't have you people call Leah Ralph to book your event. The food and drinks will make your folks love you forever!

If I could give 100 stars, I would. Our experience at Common Restaurant (specifically The Room) was…read moretruly exceptional. We were looking for a small, intimate, and beautiful space to host our micro-wedding celebration, and after reaching out to many places in downtown Savannah, The Room at Common stood out immediately. When we did our site visit, it was exactly what we had envisioned and more. The space is beautifully decorated inside a historic Savannah building and offers thoughtful features like a Frame TV for slides or welcome messages, private restrooms, a private bar, and the ability to play your own music (which is rare for a small venue and comes without extra charges). Leah was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She responded to our initial inquiry almost immediately, something that really stood out since many other venues took days or even weeks to reply. From the first email to the site visit and all the communication leading up to the event, she was incredibly helpful and reassuring. As someone who works in hospitality and tends to be a bit of a "controller," it meant a lot to feel confident that everything was in good hands. On the day of our celebration, everything was beyond what we imagined. The space looked beautiful, and we were greeted so warmly. Sammy, our server, was attentive and fun, and the bartender was fantastic as well. And the food... absolutely incredible. Every dish exceeded expectations. Our guests are still talking about it weeks later. The oysters were incredibly fresh, the steak was outstanding, and the fried cornbread, fish dip, and cheesecake were unforgettable. A huge thank you to the Executive Chef (who even came out to greet us) and the entire kitchen team. Every member of the team made us feel cared for and ensured we had everything we needed. They truly embody the meaning of Southern hospitality. Thank you all for making our day so special. My husband and I already say that if we ever renew our vows or host another celebration, we'll absolutely be coming back.

I needed a place to stay for one night & regret choosing this hotel in Hinesville. I checked in later in the evening as I was unable to do early check in. The room itself was great but you literally can hear the people across the hall talking as the hotel door doesn't completely close & has a huge gap where you can see the hall from the inside of your room. You can literally slip something in between the door. The hotel room wasn't quite clean as you would expect. The room did look cleaned but there was pieces of hair on the bathroom sink as well as in the shower. Which was so disgusting to see as a paying guest. What made my experience so uncomfortable is waking up to the housekeeping knocking so loudly & trying to come into my room around 9am as I already had trouble sleeping & was so uncomfortable as it is. Luckily I put the door lock so they werent able to get in. If I known there were going to literally come into my room, when i just checked in late that evening, I would've instantly put the do not disturb sign on the door. But didn't expect them to try to come into my room. On top of that, I was trying to go back to sleep from the long flight & the situation w/ my dog. All I could hear is what sounded like the hotel door banging back & forth on the door latch from house keeping! I've never in my life stayed at a hotel & experienced such inconsideration for their guests still asleep! Would NEVER stay at this hotel ever again. This was by far the worst & most uncomfortable experience staying a at hotel. I hope housekeeping reads this & be more courtesy, considerate & respectful for their guests! You dont know what guests are going through...& to make it a very bad experience is the total opposite of hotel experiences are suppose to be!

We've stayed at this place twice now and each trip has been the fun, comfortable, and relaxing destination we were craving for. The River Roost is a 2 bedroom home set along the Georgia coast, with its own private dock for unlimited fishing, crabbing, and endless nights of just hanging out and enjoying the cool evening breeze (just put on some bug spray!). The home itself is nice and cozy.. it comes with a fully stocked kitchen and the couches and beds are very comfortable. The living room has large panoramic windows so you don't even have to sit outside on the dock to enjoy the beautiful views of the river. Another great feature is it's close proximity to Savannah (about a 25 min drive)..we enjoyed full days of sightseeing in the city and came back to the Roost in the evening and enjoyed the sunsets over the water while relaxing on the dock as we feasted on fish and blue crabs. All in all we truly consider the River Roost our home away from home.. we've found a gem of a vacation rental and we'll be sure to keep coming back
