This was exactly what my wife and I needed for our birthday celebration. I went to a bed-and-breakfast website and bought a gift certificate, this was one of the places that I chose and they accepted my gift certificate. I called around to a few other places but nothing caught my eye and I couldn't just book with any of those places. Now I'm glad that I did not book anywhere else, that I was able to come stay here with Tim and Pam. I can't wait for the next visit, because I know it will be a great retreat. Whatever you're looking for I'm sure you can find by staying here, if you want to get back to nature that's there, if you want nice scenery that's there, or just romantic alone time you can get that. There are great destinations within a 20 mile drive and I enjoyed that option. I called ahead to find out about the breakfast options and even with me inquiring I still was impressed with the breakfast offer. This was a beautiful inn and a great stay.

Amazing place! Tom and Kris are great hosts! This is a truly unique experience! We chartered an inshore fishing trip with Reel American Charters and was told by the owner, Capt. Brian Leverette, that this was the place to stay. He was right! We brought our catch back with us and Tom and Kris prepared fish tacos for everyone. They were outstanding! We will definitely be coming back here often!

When I woke up and entered the dining room their dining room table was empty , there was not a single bun, roll, cookies or bread. The only thing on the table was a plate with tiny mandarin orange slices that tasted like they just got it from a can with all the preservative juices with it and topped off with a dab of yogurt. Both owners sat down at the table in front of me and made it very uncomfortable because they decided to start asking me questions and not really giving me time to eat. When I was done with the sweet gross orange slices they brought out this hockey puck of a thing that was made with scrambled eggs and some gross partly frozen beef or corn hash? It was topped off with a Mexican salsa. While I was trying to force down this gross egg dish one of the owners asked me " were ya from " and I answered Florida. I was originally born in NJ and try to stay away from the people in the south who are still a bit confederate. After talking for a few more minutes the same owner asked me " no, where are you really from" I said originally from NJ and fortunately it was time to leave. After he asked the second time it got uncomfortable and here I am telling these two owners why I don't tell people in the south I'm from NJ because some people still hold on to this civil war thing and have not evolved. When I left this place I went to work and I was working in an event for the town. I saw one of the B&B owners at the event and turns out he works for the town. He was a jerk and wouldn't even say hello to me after I said hello to him. Overall, not respectful and these air B&Bs in the United States need to learn from British B&Bs. Leave people alone, let them eat and put some damn buns on the table.

We love Bed and Breakfasts spots. Our room was beautiful, clean, and immaculate. However, our interactions with the Inn Keeper, Deborah Fry, were not very palatable. We updated the team there consistently as we traveled given some necessary stops and delays, and they were appreciative for the most part, but I was concerned about several snarky comments Ms. Fry made during our stay. As a reminder, it is a privilege and honor for an establishment to have us stay there, and we were on a mini-vacation. Ms. Fry constantly reminded us that we were late. We updated here as to our arrival and arrived for breakfast at 9:10 instead of 9:00. We were told that we were "too late to know where to sit." She also argued us down about the preparation of our breakfast. She stated once to me in a rather disrespectful and uncomfortable manner from my perspective: "You had the sausage. Right, Doctor?" In fact, she prepared incorrectly and confused my order which were were required to provide ahead of time with my wife's. She also half cooked our omelettes. It's a beautiful establishment. We've been visiting SSI for years and plan to purchase property here in future. We feel that Ms. Fry was nervous around us because we were Black and when we arrived I don't believe she expected for us to be Black. It was not a very pleasant experience overall but I would remind the team here adults are not children and schedules are understandable. However, please don't yield snarky comments and make people feel like they are less than just because they are 5-10 minutes behind schedule. We likely won't stay here again.

Every unit has it's own screened in porch with lush vegetation and bird feeders to watch. The gazebo and pond had a little walk around trail. The made to order omelette (breakfast included) were excellent. The owl theme was evident with coffee cups, salt and pepper shakers, whiskey glasses and other items. Such a nice touch. The innkeeper, Debbie was fantastic. We usually visit Ohio in June but decided we will come back to the Grey Owl Inn in November. Can't wait!
