We've been here…read morebefore in July and the water was definitely more accessible then, this time there was no Sandy shore. Caution- no restrooms but a porta potty and Stone Cove. We then went to the Trailwater recreation area and they had very clean restrooms (definitely a must for this pregnant lady!). The kids loved the space to run around and throw rocks in the river.

The lake had nothing in it and the stringers along the shore with cats on the we're for show. The so called "Trophy Fish" side was not deep enough for that fish. I've been fishing for over 55 years and never had seen such a scam. Only reason why we even even stayed is because of my 8 and 6 year old grandsons who were visiting from Virginia to see their Grandfather. Yes Ray is a backwoods scammer. Even made the comment "I don't make change." Meaning if you don't pay the right amount you are out of luck. Could say more but you get the picture. I guarantee the good reviews are family and friends.

Not a whole lot of trash all over the place. A few picnic tables with shelter are there along with a small little park. The parking is good alot of area. Always remember to clean up your area and put proper flotation devices on your children. Respect others areas and stuff that they bring. Have fun

Went for a drive around the Connor Pass and were highly recommended we stop off here and climb up…read moreto the lake. The area is beautiful and the lake itself is so peaceful and still. We brought a picnic and mat to sit out for lunch but were immediately plagued by hundreds of midges and it was too much. All in all the lake is small and fairly easily accessible (does require a short climb through boggy grass and steep enough rocks), you can't take in the beauty of it in photographs so it was a little hidden gem of a short stop-off along the Connor Pass scenic drive.
