Who knew it was (the first!) site of vertebrate paleontology in the US? Interestingly, there is also a short hike through a wooded area (5-10 min) that takes you to a mini-zoo-like viewing area for a herd of Bison kept there. They were pretty lethargic on this hot summer day but cute nonetheless. It's at least worth one short visit here -- a worthy investment of ~35 mins from downtown Cincinnati, anyway.

If you paddle to the back of the lake on the campground side, the creek is gorgeous. There's a ton of wildlife like herons, turtles, eagles, and all sorts of fish for catch and release. The campground hosts several events throughout the season and has electric and non-electric but no full hook up. The camp store has everything you may need. Hike on one of the many clean trails or try a round of disc golf, it's a brand new trail and impressive!

How are a group of adults suppose to enjoy their off day at this business if they can't simply relax and have a beer? This was a clean campground with plenty for kids to do. The pool was very clean and I saw the lifeguard check the chemicals multiple times. For adults, theres a nice little bar. Definitely no complaints there! But, what stood out for my friend and I, was the exceptional customer service. And while I won't go into details, we found ourselves in a situation and the owners went way above and beyond to help us out! We couldn't be any more grateful for their kindness to us strangers! I told my husband I would definitely like to return for a longer stay, for that alone! If the owners see this, again, thank you so much for your help, we truly appreciate it! Can't wait to return!

I enjoyed the Whispering Hills RV Park and its location. There are full hook-up sites, a swimming…read morepool, a lake, basketball, bark park, bar, picnic tables, and a playground with giant blow ups for the kids to enjoy. There are plenty of places around the park to just sit and enjoy a book. Some sites offer fires, but ours didn't. There are two laundry locations, but they only have a few washers and dryers. That's not enough when the park has 230 sites. Expect to wait for one to open. You do have a picnic table, but it's time to repair them. They did add in their flyer to call if you have an issue with your picnic table. You mow and clean up your site after someone stays, so you should already see any table issues. When I get to a site I've already spent many hours driving and don't want to call with any issues. I want to set up, relax, and enjoy the amenities. The property is very clean and well managed. They have an employee take you to your site and assist you in pulling in. We would definitely stay here again!!

A lot of the plots are hilly but they have tent pads they scaped for them with gravel. There is a large lake that runs along the sites that you can fish or rent kayaks.

Short walk from the parking lot There a few waterfalls. Copperas falls is like a 4 miles round trip hike. Pretty easy. Start next to the Osbourne Bend Loop trail. About Osbourne Bend Loop trail. It is 7 miles on the map but actually 9 because you have to walk back to the trail head on the Red River Gorge parkway. Very nice scenery through the whole trail. Due to different altitude and participation, very diverse plant life and rock formation . Marking is pretty spare, easy to get lost. There is a visitor center and gift shop on Red River gorge scenic road. Seems like a lot of people don't know that.
