I have been trying for several weeks to get some info about the glamping sites besides what is on their website. I have sent several messages to several different places but nobody seems to respond. I went and checked out several of their reviews and it's the same thing. Nobody seems to respond to messages. Was planning on a birthday trip there but seems like tht option is now off the table. It use to be a state park but has been purchased or leased to a private entity which seems to be the issue. Really no customer service at all from what I see. It's too bad as tht was a nice area to visit. read more

Close enough for a quick day trip. Red Rock is a quiet place during the week. We were hoping to see rock climbers rappelling but still enjoyed getting outside. Grandson loved the wood playground. We enjoy talking pictures of unique things and he loves throwing rocks. Nice cloudy day to walk around. Amazed to see a drink place open in RedRock. Very well mowed and clean. Only saw a couple of things someone left behind. Nice restrooms and showers if needed. Several RV hookups and lots of picnic tables. They now charge $10.00 per car, so I hope it helps keeping it clean. Lots of vines, wish they could post sign for poison Ivy areas read more

Great area for hiking , picnicking , rv camping or tent camping. Took the grandkids today for the first time to picnic with some friends and they had a great time! They also have a swimming pool and concession stand and a few playgrounds . You could easily spend a whole day enjoying the outdoors if you don't want to camp. read more

We had a fun hike through the park with our good boy shep Klaus. I was actually happy to find the park still opened and maintained. We found a few good trails to walk and really enjoyed the easy parking and clean facilities. The only negative to watch for is the thick stickers on the path. Next time we will bring our dog shoes as we spent too much time having to pick the stickers out of our poor boys feet. We have them at the farm and they are never a problem for him, this was a thick infestation let me tell you. That said, we are still so happy it remains there for the public! read more

During this shutdown and not being able to have indoor group activities we have decided to go on some outdoor adventures. Today was about 65° out and went back and forth with clear skies and overcast. Low winds. It was beautiful! Not too hot and not too cold. We needed hoodies occasionally and then needed a T-shirt during other times of the hike! Sounds about like any average spring day in Oklahoma, right? The park is very easy to find. It's about an hour from the center of Oklahoma City. It's an easy day trip for sure. I remember camping there in HighSchool but didn't know if had been kept up or added anything so I was excited to see what it was about now. Fee is $10 per car to get in park for the day. Hours are sunrise to sunset for day passers. You can also rent camp and RV camp as well and those areas are incredibly clean and so nice! There are on site facilities for restrooms, ice and simple camping needs. They have a new little food spot down there too on site. They serve walking tacos, snacks, sno-cones and more! There is a nice patio and deck and seating with also a great lawn with cornhole and yard games. This is located also right by the campgrounds pool which is open seasonally. Everything was so well kept up and clean. There are new and updated playgrounds in multiple areas as well with nice park and picnic areas for those who are not camping overnight. You can easily find the trails and they will give you a map at the entrance if you need one. Also, we found that using the All Trails hiking app with this park and also thousands others that you won't get lost if you have signal of course. The trails are on the app and will map your hike for you and get you back to where you started easily! The trails are in great condition. We took are Goldendoodle and it was a fun adventure for all of us. We have kids ages 12-17. Also we saw young kids as well enjoying the areas easily! They also have a paved sidewalk trail for a handicap accessible option or strollers which i thought was so amazing. We absolutely can not wait to come back with our camping gear too. There is even employees there to walk the camps and pick up any lose trash that may have been left behind so it's always green and beautiful and clean. This park is not falling behind or getting lazy with their cleanups and updates. They are doing amazing and keeping it amazing! It's a must stop! read more

This is a great place to go hiking and camping very near Oklahoma City. For day use, you will have to pay a $10 admission per vehicle. They have done some good work the last couple of years since it has become a privately owned park. There is now a small store. They have a "glamping" tent you can rent. The RV sites are situated close together but many of them are by large grassy areas kids or dogs could play. They have added new signs for the trails. As we were hiking, we also noticed how clean the park is. It is very well taken care of. There are playgrounds for kids, your traditional playground and also an all natural playground made from large logs. We always enjoy our experience here and come often because of it's proximity to the city. read more

As of Nov 1, 2018, Red Rock Canyon is no longer a state park. It is privately managed now and the park staff is phenomenal! My wife and I visited the park this week and had an amazing time. There are several trails to hike, plenty of camping opportunities for RVs and tent campers, and the staff was quick to give us all the ins and outs of the park. We will definitely be back to camp when the weather warms a bit. read more

We hadn't visited here in years, so beautiful!! We took our dog for a short hike. No plans to stay, which was fine (campgrounds were full because of the holiday weekend), but I'd like to return at different times of year, to enjoy the foliage changes. The hike trails are short and easy, so it's picturesque but not challenging. Great for kids and pets to join. We did see way more goat-head sticker patches than expected, so be prepared for that. Love that day use and parking are free. Clean facilities too! Can't get enough of the red rock walls. read more

On Day 10 of my Road Trip, I visited this park. Red Rock Canyon State Park is located 1 mile south of Hinton in Caddo County, Oklahoma. Only about 45 mins from Oklahoma City. There were many photographic opportunities and I got several nice pictures there. I stopped at the visitor center/gift shop. This park has beautiful range of red sandstone cliffs and a popular rapelling area with campgrounds. There are several trails that are dog friendly. There are paved roads throughout. Campsites are either paved or have cement pad, and the ground are very level. You might need advanced reservations during peak weekends. They charge $20 for campsites. Also, there's a pool, which would be a bonus for me. I'd camp there if I ever go back. Overall, it is simple, peaceful, exceptionally clean and well maintained. read more

The beauty of this park is phenomenal. It really is a gem. The views were amazing, untouched. One of the bathrooms near the secluded trails & campground was so bad I couldn't even go in. I sought out another which was extremely clean for a campground/state park bathroom. Complete opposite ends of the spectrum, but I really wasn't there for the facilities. The cons: maps were non-existent. Signs were scarce making the trails harder to find & parking a bit confusing. I encountered not one but two rattlers on the trails (it was also an extremely hot summer day). I'd love to rate this park 5 stars for the scenery. Spectacular. A little direction could go a long way! read more

Campgrounds were plush and clean! Trail maps are non-existent which this improvement would make this a 5 star hands down. Bathrooms were heated, unexpected surprise, when camping in November. Trials were cleared and safe and we loved taking our dog around this area. Campers were quiet and respectful. We did notice signage for "burn where you buy" but we never located the firewood in the park for purchase. This park could use more signage but overall we had a great time so close to the city! read more

Wonderful experience! We stayed here one night in our RV with full hookups. The views were spectacular. We took a stroll around the park and it was so peaceful. We are from California so we hardly get views like this. We were able to meet Rick and he was so friendly. We will definitely be back for a longer visit next time! read more

So happy we went a bit further past Oklahoma City options to camp here! Local family just took over state park as they didn't want to see it shut down. Met at gate by friendly family! Map given of campground! Drove down winding road with our 25' camper to find other campers and RVs parked along the way. Very clean and trails marked to walk dogs before sunset. Family met us with campfire wood and stories of campground. Plenty of room for pull throughs and tent camping. We wish them the best of luck. It's hard to find quiet spots along the interstate! read more

Fairly decent, the trails are very short and covered in ticks. My dog picked up 5 ticks and we hiked the California trail and horse tail trail. Somewhat scenic but the views from the tops of places are a little underwhelming. I can see it being a decent camp spot but again, not much for views. My review might be skewed because I'm coming from Colorado. read more

Did a drive through to see if we would like to RV camp. We did have to pay $10 to drive through but that was okay with us as we understand the cost of maintenance. The place is very pretty. There is a lot of hiking trails and also repelling. They are planning a music festival in the future. Not a place for RVing if you want to fish S there is no lake or river. Five stars if trail heads were better marked and more of the trails were maintained to navigate the mud. The trails that were open and well maintained were a joy. The camping spots could have more privacy between spots, but seemed well maintained otherwise with recent mowing and all hook ups seemed to be in good order with a waste dump on your way out if you had to park at s spot without a waste dump. Really well mowed and maintained throughout the park. The rappelling areas were great and well maintained as well within loose rock to impede a great running head first rappelling down the face of the red rock in the canyon. We will be back! i'm skipping tulsa and ok city in the tour across ok because of the following reasons. a- the arrival in tulsa after the peaceful afternoon in rural oogolah was a rude awakening to urban america of today, and it just pissed me off. b- i drove through ok city right smack dab in morning rush hour because i hadn't adjusted to the new time zone and am an early riser. thus, i decided not to wait the couple of hours before places opened and kept on truckin. my driving on a whim led me to red rock canyon state park. not originally part of the outline of where i was going, the name of the park peaked my interest, so i ventured off my path to explore. i am glad i did. hiking, climbing, random walks in nature? ok. sure. only five miles off the highway, you can get out of your car and explore the changing terrain and picture worthy sights. you can camp here, too, but since i was in travel mode, i was just stopping by for some hiking. the entire park itself is only 1 1/2 miles, so it's not extremely huge. and if i were going to compare lajolla and here, i'd prefer to camp at lajolla. however, red rock is pretty cool. and i saw my first cactus of my trip. so there's that. read more

Currently on our 3rd trip at Red Rock Canyon. It is a very neat park with an interesting history. It is easily accessible from I-40 at the Hinton, OK exit... go south 4 miles or so, it is on your left. The park is transferring from State ownership to local city of Hinton ownership due to state budget woes (don't get me started....) in November 2018 from what I have heard. Not sure what that means for the park, but we have hopes! Red Rock Canyon could be a top-notch Park with just a little work ( and more full hook-up sites!) Definitely a diamond in the rough. read more

Spent a couple of hours with the family at this great state park. Really great views, unique topography, and stunning backgrounds for photos. I scaled the red rock in one place along with my three daughters (ages 8 to 14). There were footholds and handholds for scaling the rock. At the top were trails we could follow. It was pretty cool to see cactus growing everywhere from the ground. (The city dweller that I am this is the first time I saw cactus outside of a pot!) We didn't go camping but there were plenty of campers there. The facilities were clean but would have been better if there was soap. Thank goodness we brought hand sanitizer! Nontheless, it was all free and a great time for our family. It was amazing how much fun we had at no cost. Highly recommend and will consider going back to take overseas family members and friends when they come to the States. read more

This place was tons of fun with so much to do! Hiking, fishing, camping, swimming. We camped for 3 days and did everything it had to offer except repelling. The owners took over recently and have been really working on it. I could tell because I saw them actively working to make it even better than it already was. We will probably come at least once a year now. The pond was stocked well with bass catfish and perch. Lots of camper spots available with 30 amp and 50 amp. Showers, bathrooms, grill, a pool, hiking trails, water hookups, fire pits, playgrounds. We had a great time!!! read more

This park is beautiful. Unfortunately, a bit too awkward for our 32' RV. Beware, the tree branches intrude into the roadway and at times are impossible to avoid. The spots are at the bottom of a steep canyon, tight turns and near bottoming out in the apex of the first turn. Our friends assigned sight had no power to the pedestal. This would be a great park for class C's or tent camping. read more

Had reservations for two nights. Due to unprecedented bad weather we wanted to see if it was possible to move to another later date. Left phone messages, emails, website messages for two days. Never got a call back. Reservation came and went without being able to use it. I would have completely accepted if we were told that the cancellation policy was that no refund was available and we could not reschedule, but to simply be ignored and have no response was frustrating and meant we had to wait multiple extra days before we could try to look for other options. Unless you are 100% certain you will use a reservation at this site, I would advise to go elsewhere as they will never call you back if you want to make any changes. read more

My family and I love the outdoors and recently traveled the short distance from OkC to Hinton. We made arrangement online which was extremely helpful and took a lot of stress off the trip right away. We selected a full hookup site for the RV and we were more than pleased to find how easy it was to find our site, even in the dark. Of course this time of year (Nobember) the park is relatively quiet adding to the atmosphere of the location. The park is littered with nice bathrooms and coin operated showers. Several playgrounds, repelling walls, and hiking trails throughout the park. We went on a few hikes but did not even come close to hiking all of them. All of the trails are marked and maps can be found at the ranger station. I would recommend the "alltrails" app. It's awesome and will help with the navigation. The trails are well maintained and cleared for ease of hiking. Spectacular views can be found throughout. Also, there are dumpsters located throughout helping to keep your camp site and he park clean. This is a great State park not far from the city and really is a wonderful place for a family vacation. read more

Last time I came here it was a state park, and it has since flourished under its new private owners. We camped for one night and came in rather late but the staff was very accommodating and was able to give us all the instructions we needed over the phone beforehand. The new Camp Social is a new building that sells some food and souvenirs and the social events they have planned are an awesome way to get the community out into the canyon. The trails are in pretty good condition (the information plaques are dirty and hard to read at points, but that's the only downside) and the campsites and bathroom facilities are impeccably clean! This is definitely a must-see! read more

It is a beautiful park. Lots of trails. We are here on Memorial Day weekend and the pool is still not open. Kind of odd. Lots of families here which is nice. The kids seem to quiet down right at 10. The reason why we aren't giving it a 4 or even a 5 is because: #1, the bathrooms need to be cleaned more often and the big one #2, the dogs on leash rule seems not to apply if you pinky swear your dog is a good dog. It doesn't matter that it's a pit bull mix, and I like pit bulls. You get enough loose dogs running together and pack mode begins. I had to be ultra careful when I walked my super small dogs on a leash. Big dislike! Rules are for everyone. The park ranger shouldn't have to babysit. We are all adults. Follow the rules people. They are there for a reason. read more

This is a beautiful state park we discovered while traveling cross country. I would love to give it five stars but the tent camping sites were poorly marked and the map was confusing. They have some nice playground areas throughout the park. There are some very nice bathrooms and some rustic bathrooms. They also have some coin operated showers. We enjoyed our stay and would love to come back. read more

We came the Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving and the weather was wonderful! The park was clean and well maintained. We stayed at spot #62 in the California campground and it was peaceful and relaxing, just a few steps away from some worthwhile trails for the kids to hike on. Everyone was friendly, a good place to take the family! read more
