The room was what we expected, however no microwave. I did notice there was one in the lobby, but it's very unlikely I would walk down to use it. The room was clean. There was a closet and a shower/tub combo. Comfortable bed. There's a hot breakfast in the morning. It consisted of scrambled eggs, sausage, and potatoes along with waffles, cereal, and bagels. I like that the breakfast goes until 10 a.m. and checkout is at noon since we aren't early risers. Staff was pleasant. The only real negative is that there isn't any laundry area for guests to do a load of laundry. There is a room with two computers and a printer for guest use. There's a steakhouse just across the parking lot. The food isn't great considering the menu prices, but it will do if you want a sit-down meal close by.

On arrival for the first reservation, I was told the hotel had no hot water. The desk clerk claimed a notice had been emailed, but it went out barely two hours before my arrival, of no use to someone already on the road. The hotel cancelled my reservation on the spot, then refused to refund the prepaid charge, directing me to chase the booking company for my own money. No further explanation was offered, and no effort whatsoever was made to help me find a room elsewhere. Thinking that a hotel wide hot water outage would be a temporary issue, I did keep the second reservation (it was too late to cancel without charge). When returning I was told the hot water was still out. This time they did not send any notice whatsoever. Only on demand did the desk clerk send an email stating that there was no hot water. Again, there was no explanation and no offer of any assistance. After finding other accommodation for the night the night manager at a competing hotel mentioned that the Hampton Inn has been out of hot water for over a month but keeps on booking reservations and only refunds under pressure. Please note that this review is only for the Hampton Inn at Dunn, NC. I have stayed at other Hampton Inns and found them comfortable and reasonable.

There is a small indoor swimming pool (It was always full when I was near it so I didn't get a photo) and a small fitness room with a variety of equipment. The hotel had two elevators but just one seemed to be working and it was very slow. The left elevator never seemed to be operating during my stay. Breakfast was nice with a large variety of hot and cold items available. I'd stay here again if in the area.

The house was built in the early 1900's and has been restored to the grandeur the original owner envisioned. Alan and Patti are the owners and they have worked hard to fill the house with furniture and art appropriate to the age. I believe every guest will be pleased when they first walk in the door. The bedding is very good and very comfortable made up with nice linens not high count cotton thread but very nice. The breakfast served each morning is wonderful. We had scrambled egg, perfectly done, bacon and toast. Fresh fruit and a fluffy croissant filled with chocolate and whipped cream. Sound decadent? It is! The next morning we had quiche with cinnamon raisin toast, fresh strawberries and yes yet another croissant. Just wonderful but breakfast was not the best part. The best part is the caring attentive inn keepers..! Patti and Alan are welcoming, caring and just great people. We talked and the conversation took on the style of friends conversing not acquaintances exchanging small talk. There is an art to that and each of them possess the prompt skills to engage strangers. We tell her that the first reeks of dog and manure and she goes "I can't come smell it, I have minors(her children) inside and I can't leave them alone. And I know they just cleaned that room." Ma'am why are your kids here if you're working? it was extremely unprofessional and she offered no help. So my sister goes back and requests a new room. We get up there and this one reeks of weed and is also dirty. At this point we are so tired we just wiped everything down ourselves. (We didn't find out until the next day that our fathers pillow was covered in what looked like blood.) When we went to leave the next day we saw the housekeeping putting the old sheets back on the beds in room 102 and only taking the top sheets away. Pool was not open at all, amenities sucked, and staff was very rude and unhelpful. We won't be staying here again and I'll be telling everyone I know not to go here.

The pictures Ive attached are of two different rooms. We had another group with us that we reserved a room for as well. Who also just checked in and left with my husband. When I showed him these, he's just as disgusted. I was able to find another hotel across the street with great reviews and accommodations and booked with them. We leave our event and go back to the hotel to get our stuff and I turn in our key. She tells me she knows she can refund Saturday night (the next night) but doesn't know about tonight (Friday night) because we were checked in for more than 30 minutes. At that point I told her I understand but that's also why I'm turning in the key so that they don't think I'm staying the night there and that I will follow up with corporate in the morning with the photos, etc. She tells me to come in the morning when the manager is there to talk to them. I come in the next morning (different clerk at this point) and she says the manager is not in but she will give them a call because of the whole not being able to refund me for Friday night. We, at that point just leave. She calls about 5 minutes after we left to say the owner said he has refunded us both nights. Don't get me wrong, they were nice people working there but their pictures online are an absolute lie and misinterpretation of what their establishment actually looks like. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to even a roach. Shoot, they probably wouldn't stay there either. We didn't stay long enough to figure out where their "complimentary breakfast" was. I'm also still waiting on my refund. They said it takes 3-5 business days. So we'll see. So glad Country Inn & Suites (Angelique) was able to help save us that weekend.

The positive - Jamie at the front desk was likeable and informative. She recommended the attached mexican restaurant and we found it reasonably priced and good. Our room was clean. The negative - EVERYTHING else! The room seemed dingy with scuff marks on the entrance door and stains on the easy chair and desk chair with a slight smell of mustyness. ALL the lamps were rusty and all the shades were broken and stained. I did go back to the desk, but it seems all the rooms have similar deficiencies. This room had no ironing board or dry cleaning bags. In addition, the exhaust fan did not work in the bathroom. The topper was the major leak into our bathroom at 4:30AM with the ceiling falling in. The front desk did give us another room to shower. There are no phones in the rooms, so we had to get dressed to go to the front desk....I think a major security issue not having phones. I changed this from 1 star to 2 stars because the GM did the right thing and refunded our money.
