Horrible experience at this location and worse, no follow up from management. Booked a last minute room to rest and stay the night after my wife had an evening event. Checked in with my two year old and upon entering the room and getting situated, we found a dirty washcloth in the bed under the comforter. We only needed one bed so i moved to the next one and went to throw it on the floor in the bathroom for the housekeepers the next day. When i turned on the light in the bathroom, it was evident that the toilet had been used post room cleaning as there was residue and hairs on the toilet seat. Knowing we were only staying till morning and not wanting to relocate to another area with our things and my baby, i cleaned it and let it slide. The straw that broke the camels back was when my two year old found a large 12" kitchen knife in a low unlocked drawer. I understand these rooms may be extended stay and providing utensils can be a nice thing, but they should never be left where they were less than two feet off the ground for a child to be able to access. At that time i contacted my wife and told her we would be departing and i would just drive through the night to return to ohio. Upon checking out, i politely informed the front desk agent of the three situations and that we would be checking out only hours after checking in. He couldn't do anything but understood, so I asked him to pass on my booking info to management so they could follow up with me. I never received a call and when following up with Expedia who i booked through, they were also told by the hotel that nothing could be done for this situation. read more

I stayed here in June 2020 as one of my first hotel stays after the pandemic hit the United States. I was en route to visit my parents for the first time since Christmas and wanted to stay somewhere clean and where I was unlikely to be infected. Red Roof Inn, unlike many of the other budget chains, has advertised their "RediClean" program, with rooms being carefully sanitized and employees and guests being required to follow state-mandated distancing and mask protocols. PA in particular has a mask requirement and indeed, the hotel had a sign on the door saying masks must be worn. But when I stepped inside, it was a different story. Only one person in the building was wearing a mask, and that was me. Pens were provided and returned to a common pen jar without sanitation between uses. There was plexiglass in front of the front desk...but the unmasked desk agent was standing in front of the full-height hole in the barrier. So much for social distancing. The room looked clean on the surface. But given the lack of mask and social distancing enforcement, how was I to know if my room was properly sanitized according to the advertised practices? I had Lysol, but I would have stayed elsewhere if I knew enforcement was so lax. I'll give the benefit of the doubt here and hope that it was just the staff on duty. But I expect better from Red Roof Inn, especially with the "RediClean" program that has been advertised during the pandemic to ensure guest safety. Maybe this hotel is excellent outside of a pandemic. But right now, my desires are far different from normal and I value a germ-free environment above anything else. And I am pretty certain that other Yelpers I know would have stormed out of the hotel and called corporate immediately if they saw what I saw. read more

This place looks very run down from the outside. Rooms are trashy looking and our sheets had stains on them and the comforter. We brought our own bedding so we didn't complain. The gentlemen at the was helpful making sure we were not double charged. Only reason this place deserves a star at all. The walls have stains on them. I felt cleaner in the desert in Iraq then staying at this hotel. Definitely don't recommend this place. Walking around the hotel the floors were dirty and all this is before even spending the night. We left to get dinner and have a night out but not looking forward to returning to our crappy room. You do get a lot of channels on the tv. So you can watch tv while waiting on your wife to get ready. They are pet friendly so if you have a small or large dog your good to go. read more

It's a clean, great place to stay and very reasonably priced! Complimentary coffee in the lobby hit the spot! The beds and pillows were just right for a weary traveler! Because of road construction it was a bit tricky for me to find , (on top on a hill) but once I DID find it , I discovered it's close to a mall, lots of shopping and variety of restaurants. I read other reviews about it being dirty, but this is not the normal case! CONSTRUCTION WORKERS STAY HERE at times and dirt falls off of their boots! It's cleaned up as soon as employees see it! If you see it, tell an employee (they're very pleasant!) , so it's not tracked any further! Simple as that! I'll definitely stay here again when in the area!! Currently remodeling, and nearby businesses that I assume went under during COVID, so there are elements that aren't pretty. Also, insulation between rooms and public spaces is lacking. Earplugs are helpful. But a moderate price point, a clean, updated room, and helpful staff. read more

Hard to find, but a good night's sleep. It gets a little confusing because it's on a street named for another hotel and behind a bunch of other businesses. You have to go east if you come up from the Turnpike and then turn left on a street named for yet a different hotel. If that's hard, sleeping here is a breeze. Without paying a lot, I got that good kind of A/C unit that lets the fan run constantly, a comfortable bed, and everything was clean. Deduction for not offering breakfast (free or paid, even) at this price point. I'm not much of a breakfast person, but it can be a differentiator at times if I want to pack a snack in the car. read more

Absolutely hands-down the worst hotel we've ever been to in Pennsylvania. The beds are terrible and only a couple years old, they squeak so badly every time somebody moves you wake up the other person. The floors are very dirty. When we arrived we asked for it to be clean since my husband was there for cancer treatment in the area and I had to wash the floor by hand with a rag they gave us and I went and bought detergent and disinfectant. The rag was black from dirt. I had to wash the walls in the bathroom and sanitize everything. Gross! The management did give me a rag to clean my own room each day. No room cleaners until we check out. We had to bring our towels to the front to get new ones, and bag our own garbage. Staff was unenthusiastic about service, and you need to check your charges after checking out. read more

Trisha the head housekeeper, she is not a manager is very rude. My cousin was staying here who has autism and as soon as we enter the motel she said that she was on a do not rent list but she did not say why. We asked why and she snapped back and said "We don't have to give you a reason why"! Well not too smart Trisha! Why would you not want to give your customers a reason why? Are they not human enough to you to deserve it? I've been seeing a great deal of discrimination and inequality lately in this city and I definitely highly recommending people avoiding the whole area all together. They are not too nice and friendly. My cousin was so excited to bring her dog here and so was the dog who she still has and is now 9 years old! Such a shame. She really now more than ever refuses to talk to humans period!!! She has since shut down. There is a nice hotel down the street called The Mountain View Inn and they take dogs! We stayed at this Red Roof Inn in mid-January, 2020. They let us check in early, which was great because we had our Corgi with us and needed to shower and get to an appointment. The room was very clean and the bed was really comfortable. The staff were very friendly and we could tell that the there had been recent renovation. The Manager told us when we checked out that every room had been stripped down to studs and renovated, and it showed. Interestingly, there was no separate closet, but an area next to the window where we could hang our coats with shelving for gloves and hats. Another shelf with an iron and ironing board was on the other side of the window. It was not unattractive or intrusive at all, and in fact made the room seem larger since there was a large arm chair in the room. We will stay there again when we come visit family. Being Pet Friendly is a plus! read more

My husband and i were very pleased with the friendliness of the staff at each encounter through our stay. The lobby and rooms are exceptionally clean with newer carpeting and updated bedding. Free coffee in the lobby but no breakfast. Very reasonable rates on Priceline. A much better experience compared to other area hotels as we have stayed in the area a few times and I will continue to use Red Roof in our future stays. read more

stayed at this hotel while visiting family for thanksgiving in greensburg pa and if I could rate it 0 stars I would. we checked in at about 230am and got to to our room. the bathroom had facial hair in the sink, the bed sheets were stained with yellow/brown spots, the tv had about an half inch thick of dust on the back of it, the floors weren't swept, and the water for the bathtub was either scolding hot or ice cold(no in between) so you obviously couldnt shower. not to mention there was also fieces left in the toilet! we complained to the front desk so they put us in another room. got into the 2nd room and the floors also weren't swept, more dust on the back of the tv than the first room, and there was hair and mold specs in the fridge! we complained once again and they front desk said they can put is in another room but chances are the same housekeeper "cleaned" it too. everywhere was fully booked so we obviously couldn't leave and find another place so we cleaned the room our selves. we also demanded our money back but they said check back next week(obviously when we wont be there anymore)for a refund! this place is absolutely disgusting. it reeks of marijuana. you dont even need a key card to get in from outside so literally ANYONE could just walk right in. not to mention the second room we entered had a bucket under the air unit because it CONSTANTLY leaks. I would HIGHLY suggest NOT going here at all. dont take your families to this place or even your self for that matter. I would have honestly slept outside in the cold if I didn't have my kids with me. we went out and bought our own blankets and pillows just to be able to touch the bed.
