The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was nice and friendly. The floors are hardwood, theres a tv with plenty of channels, if you're a sports lover you have many options. There is mini fridge, microwave, a table and chair for work or eating, and the sink area is separate from the toilet/shower area. What I didn't like was the towels are right above the toilet and theres not a lot of space so it's easy to bump a towel and it can fall in the toilet. The other thing was the shower poured water out the spout when in shower mode so it filled up with water.

I would put zero as an option if I could..... Took my family to Vermillion for a college visit as one of my sons got his doctorate from there.... My daughter was sleeping and was suddenly awaken from her deep sleep to superficial red bumps on the epidermis.. Approximately 1 CM circumference.... Additionally, found a "yellow stain" (as they call it) on the bedding. However, it was innconnient of urine. Was told there was three layers between the stain and it was "fine". My DISABLED daughter had to be carried up steep, slippery, stairs that led to the second floor.... It doesn't come to conclusion there... The sheets were full of crumbs which ultimately led me to think the foreign owners were having a curry cook off in the room. UGH..... My daughter that is disabled (which I mentioned earlier) couldn't even fit in the bathroom. Mother, who is luckily a Certified Nurse Practitioner was able to help her.... Upon arrival after a long exhausting day, no one was at the desk!! We waited over an eternity (10 minutes) to be helped. They crawled out from the back room like they were doing the dirty.... MY SON who had a gluten allergy was awaken from his sleep to go down to the breakfast which was limited.... MORE OVER with the bathroom there was rust by the tub. The response was "that needs to be cocked". Well, I think it does too, maybe the sheets washed too? Don't stay here, I could go on and on, but deeply frustrated. Pool was closed but luckily there was puddles of water in their parking to splash around in. Pool has been closed for over a few months according to the previous reviews, think they should be able to fix it.... Good at arguing but poor at fixing....

Dropping your kids off at college for the first time is an overwhelming and emotional experience,…read morebut having somewhere so welcoming to return to is truly priceless. The Main Street Inn has thought of everything--from complimentary snacks and drinks on every floor to a well-stocked game cabinet in the community lounge. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and beautifully decorated. Carson, the owner, is always nearby and ready to help with any questions or needs, making the experience feel far beyond that of a typical hotel. It truly felt like being welcomed into someone's home, while still enjoying the privacy you'd expect. Breakfast was a highlight. Carson asked what time we'd like to eat and happily accommodated our family's needs--even when we changed our time just ten minutes beforehand. That level of care and flexibility was so appreciated. I can't speak highly enough about the Main Street Inn and our stay. There is no doubt this will be our go-to place whenever we visit Vermillion again. Thank you, Carson and family, for making us feel so welcome.

Cannot say enough good things about this B & B in Vermillion! From the meticulous attention to…read morearchitectural restoration of a former college fraternity house into a 5 bedroom mission style inn, to the immaculate cleanliness of the place, our recent 6 night stay was a wonderful experience! Handmade Amish furniture throughout, heated marble bathroom floors, complimentary drinks and snacks, plush towels, and comfortable furniture to hang out in the common areas. Don't even get me started on the hot breakfasts every morning. Upon coming downstairs in the morning, appetizer donuts/cookies were set out with fresh coffee and a greeting from the hosts offering orange juice. Breakfast usually consisted of eggs (scrambled, fried), a meat (bacon, sausage), hashbrown potatoes, a fruit cup and a sweet item (pancakes, waffle, french toast). But .... one morning we had a hot from the oven bubbling ramekin of berries covered with a crumb topping of oats, brown sugar and butter!!!! The inn owners were more than friendly, helpful and gracious with my family! Vermillion is a very quaint town with a main street (only 2 blocks from the inn) lined with family owned and delicious restaurants, coffee cafes, small retail shops, and lots of bars for the college crowd. We are looking forward to the next time we stop in Vermillion and hope we again can snag a room at the Main Street Inn!
