Zero all the way. They advertise a pool, but was informed it was closed due to no heating element. Then was told you can try it but it would be cold. We tried to see just how cold the water was but the door was locked. The pool area was filled with a/c units. We were traveling for baseball with another family. That family was able to get their money back We waited over 20 minutes to speak to someone but they were obviously dealing with another issue at the desk so we left and I thought I'd have to contact Priceline anyway. I did, told them the issue, they called the front desk and they lied to Priceline stating they never said the pool was closed and that they would not authorize a refund. we ended up going to another hotel and paying again for the night. Don't stay here. Don't advertise and sell rooms with the assumption you have a pool but in reality its not usable. read more

Side outside doors don't work, all vending machines out of order, closed pool looks disgusting, room stinks. Barking dog left in a room. I've been staying at this hotel for years. This is the worst condition I've ever seen.​ read more

Not bad for a nights stay on a budget. Room and hotel were quiet and clean-ish. The bathrooms could probably use some upgrades as far as the fixtures go. Breakfast was mediocre, but then again I was not expecting much. read more

Booked at the Red Roof Inn in Vermillion due to price, location, hot breakfast and having a pool. My daughter, who has autism, wanted to go to Vermillion for her birthday to visit friends. She loves to swim and this motel was close to where her friends live. Upon arrival, I inquired about the hours of the pool. The manager said that the pool heater wasn't working so the water would be too cold. I expressed my displeasure with this, and there was no mention of this on the motel website. In fact, on the website there was a picture of the pool area with chaise loungers around the pool and the whole nine yards. All the manager said was that she was sorry. As college graduation was at the same time, there were no other options to stay in Vermillion. So we went to our room and the window shade was opened with visible handprints all over the glass. I asked the manager for glass cleaner, so once again she told us I'm sorry and she came and cleaned the window. The room otherwise appeared clean, except for a pair of socks visible under one of the beds. The bathroom had the sink in one room and the tub and toilet in another with a door that closes. The bathroom area was so small you could barely close the door. By this point I am frustrated, but did not want to ruin my daughter's birthday plans. We went and met with her friends and she had a grand time. So we slept well and it was quiet. We woke up early and we decided to go for the "hot" breakfast featured on the website. The juice machine was broken, so they had a gallon of milk and a jug of orange juice in a mini fridge. My daughter asked about biscuits and gravy. They hadn't made any since there weren't enough people staying at that time. So the gentleman said he had eggs and sausage in the back did we want that? My daughter said sure. He brings out a plate with frozen patty-like egg and frozen sausage and proceeded to heat them up in the microwave! I had a waffle that I am pretty sure the batter was old as this waffle was dry and crunchy. Other options were pruning oranges, bananas, yogurt and a few slices of bread. We threw away our food and decided to go look at the pool area. Now this pool had not been used for a very long time. You could see debris on the bottom, and the space was being used as a storage room. Several huge boxes were occupying the space as was some kind of very large motor to something. Not at all like the website. And to top it off there were two vending machines which were both "out of order". By this time we decided it was a good time to leave. My daughter took her things to the car and I waited for 10 minutes for the manager to come to the counter so I could inform her of my disappointment with her facility and told her the website was deceiving and also we would never stay there again! Once again I'm sorry was her reply. I would have caused a scene and demanded a partial refund, but my daughter didn't understand my displeasure and I did not want to ruin her stay. Don't expect much if you stay at this place! It is no way worth the price they charged for the room! read more

The hotel was very clean and comfortable. The staff was nice and friendly. The floors are hardwood, theres a tv with plenty of channels, if you're a sports lover you have many options. There is mini fridge, microwave, a table and chair for work or eating, and the sink area is separate from the toilet/shower area. What I didn't like was the towels are right above the toilet and theres not a lot of space so it's easy to bump a towel and it can fall in the toilet. We stayed here May of 2019 for Special Olympics. Room was very clean and modern. Pool was chilly but that was our fault as we didn't wait long enough after they cleaned it. Coffee was good and they had fruit available in the morning. Good for the price and I will be staying here again. read more

I would put zero as an option if I could..... Took my family to Vermillion for a college visit as one of my sons got his doctorate from there.... My daughter was sleeping and was suddenly awaken from her deep sleep to superficial red bumps on the epidermis.. Approximately 1 CM circumference.... Additionally, found a "yellow stain" (as they call it) on the bedding. However, it was innconnient of urine. Was told there was three layers between the stain and it was "fine". My DISABLED daughter had to be carried up steep, slippery, stairs that led to the second floor.... It doesn't come to conclusion there... The sheets were full of crumbs which ultimately led me to think the foreign owners were having a curry cook off in the room. UGH..... My daughter that is disabled (which I mentioned earlier) couldn't even fit in the bathroom. Mother, who is luckily a Certified Nurse Practitioner was able to help her.... Upon arrival after a long exhausting day, no one was at the desk!! We waited over an eternity (10 minutes) to be helped. They crawled out from the back room like they were doing the dirty.... MY SON who had a gluten allergy was awaken from his sleep to go down to the breakfast which was limited.... MORE OVER with the bathroom there was rust by the tub. The response was "that needs to be cocked". Well, I think it does too, maybe the sheets washed too? Don't stay here, I could go on and on, but deeply frustrated. Pool was closed but luckily there was puddles of water in their parking to splash around in. Pool has been closed for over a few months according to the previous reviews, think they should be able to fix it.... Good at arguing but poor at fixing.... read more

This is a really nice hotel! The price is low, and it looks like it was recently remodeled, so it's clean and modern. As far as I can tell, this is the best option in Vermillion, and even compared to most other places I've stayed, it's pretty good! It's also very quiet. I could hear some kids running through the hall, but once they were in their rooms I couldn't hear them. There's no hot breakfast; just done fruit and coffee, but that's not a big deal. You can walk over to Bru2 - which has some simple breakfast stuff and awesome coffee, or take a longer walk / short drive to Cafe Brulé - which is the same company as Bru2, but with an extensive menu. Love them both. The only thing was the toilet wasn't anchored, so whenever you stood up it would fall back against the wall. But that's an easy fix which we told management about. Overall I highly recommend this place if you're staying in Vermillion. read more

A decent place to stay while in Vermillion SD. It's clean and modern on the inside. You can't go wrong with the price. For around $75 a night. Don't expect luxury and a hot breakfast. Just a nice clean place to stay close to USD. The staff is friendly. The only other decent place to stay is the Holiday Inn, but you will be paying twice as much if not more. read more

one of my worst hotel experiences ever, if you need a good nights rest don't come here the hotel is literally halo and you can hear everything from everyone else's room around you. The people above kept my family up until 3:00am it was unintentional by the people above I mean they weren't jumping around or anything. it's the building nothing is soundproof at all. I guess that's why it's cheap‍. Honestly just stay at a Hilton or anything that is not $75 a night cause it will be so much better and worth the extra money imo. read more

This place is wonderful. We are a family always on a budget and this is the place to stay. My daughter is going to be attending University of South Dakota and we have had to make a few trips out here already, as we live about 4 hours away, it was too much of a drive to come down, spend all day doing stuff needed for the school, then having to drive home. I decided to book here about a month ago, and I just booked again as we are coming up Thursday night to have to be here all day Friday. They are priced right, they have a heated pool (no Jacuzzi), the staff is super awesome. They don't have breakfast, but that is okay because there are many great places to eat while here. The rooms are very clean. There is a refrigerator in the room, small coffee pot if you need it (but they have free coffee down in the lobby), and there are an abundance of television channels of choices to choose from.Looks like it may have just been newly remodeled as it looks new inside. I had a great experience and will keep coming here to stay when I need to come up here. read more
