Barb and Mark have done some amazing landscaping to their home with a few goats, chickens, geese and swans living on the land. Homemade breakfasts were amazing and well-presented in a cute picnic basket each morning. More than enough food to fill us up. Visited Pueblo for an evening and stayed at The Rusted Poppy…read more When making the reservation they failed to mention a wedding was taking place that night AT the bed and breakfast (no access to the grounds when a wedding takes over)...or that the stairs to the carriage house where unfinished...or that the entire wedding party would be using the bathroom below us. Room was cute but there there were black curly hairs all over the bathroom (I'm bald and my girlfriend that joined me is blonde)...coffee maker had old coffee grounds in it and the fridge had old noodles in a Tupperware container. Furnace shook the floor/walls and was very loud. There was an uncomfortable daybed where a couch would have been preferred. Place sure looks cute - great character in the building and the gardens are eclectic and fun looking...poor execution makes this a place I will not revisit, which is unfortunate as it has potential.

For a first b&b experience, these folks set the standard high…read more Incredibly friendly hospitality (aside from the two cats who clearly could tell we are dog people), charming & spacious accommodations (sitting room, eat-in kitchenette, bathroom, bedroom with balcony complete with table & chairs), very quiet neighborhood... I could go on. A few highlights: Incredibly comfortable bed/bedding. Delicious breakfast of quiche & homemade muffins, fruit bowl with kiwi, apple, pear, watermelon, honey dew, banana, & blueberries topped with vanilla yogurt & a touch of granola, and wonderful coffee. A parking lot that is within view of most rooms. Quiet neighborhood close to both downtown CO Springs & Manitu Springs. A wine social to mingle with other guests upon check in. A collection of DVDs to borrow during your stay. Romance packages that include a dozen picture perfect roses, a bottle of champagne, breakfast en suite, and bubble bath. Owners that live in the next house over, should you need anything when staff has left for the evening. We'll return, no doubt. You should visit too.

When I called the motel to see if it was found, they claimed that it was not in the room. The owner deflected and said that they will check the trash and the laundry, but there is no way it could have possibly ended up in any of those places. It was simply left on the desk, and I forgot to put it on before we checked out of the room. Whoever went into the room to clean, had to have taken it. It is an easy item to put in a pocket and not think twice. I am completely devastated that I made such a stupid mistake but am heartbroken that someone would steal something as valuable and meaningful as a wedding ring.

Each room is modeled after one of their favorite cities around the world. They make the breakfast every morning and both morning we were there it was delicious. The couple is very nice and you can tell both of them enjoy running the B and B. We stayed in the Copenhagen room which had a king size bed and a nice bathroom attached. It had a mini fridge in it and it was right next to the mini bar that comes with complimentary drinks! My wife and I stayed their the first two nights of our honeymoon and I wouldn't have wanted to stay anywhere else. We will most definitely be back many times.
