I was in the process of adopting a poodle from Heidi. We spoke on the phone and unfortunately the adoption didn't work out. After telling me she would refund the money, she then refused saying I was trying to scam her. She then tried to force me to sign a contract with her business even after we both agreed to end the adoption process as way to receive a refund. Terrible business owner and practices. read more

I was only in Nashville for one day and desperately needed a dog sitter for my baby while I explored the city. I hate leaving him places but felt really comfortable with this staff. Dropping him off the lady was really nice and won his trust pretty quickly (which is hard). I felt safe leaving my little boy here. When I picked him up the afternoon staff knew his name and about me bring out of town. There are glass windows in the front and no one jumped to check out a form to find his name. They just knew. That's important because they must communicate very well. Lastly, when I picked him up he was happy and that's what matters the most. read more

My Dogs Give This Place 5 Barks! Located off 4th Ave N, close to Germantown and Downtown Nashville, this is a great little doggie day care. They offer day care for a reasonable price, lots of play time, a web cam to view your doggie during the day, along with a caring staff that consistently gives me reviews on how their day went. If you live in an urban area, back yard time is limited so I rely on day care and or trips to the dog park, along with weekend adventures to keep these guys happy. All I have to do is say, "Do you want to go to day care," and they go crazy! I figure they are the experts along with my high opinion of Hedi, the owner, I am sold. They also have overnight packages for a reasonable price, along with pet grooming services, and obedience classes. On line registration is recommended, but prior to signing up you will need to show proof of vaccinations and have your dog evaluated for temperament. Great place, so glad we live close! read more

Awesome first experience for my wife and I! Heidi and her staff were very accommodating for a last minute boarding of my two fury children, Coco & Maile. The facility was very clean and organized, which made me feel more at ease; great first impression. If you need a place to drop off your fury children, then this is the place and you won't feel guilty about leaving them with just anyone. I hate to write a negative review, but I'm really disappointed in the service from Red Rover. I took my German Shepherd to RR for 4+ years. I've seen a lot of turnover and it finally settled to a solid staff of dog lovers. The reason I will not take him back is the lack of responsibility from the owner. Heidi is great with dogs, but running a business is a different story. There seemed to always be some last-minute rules put in place that I'd be told about when I really have no choice but to honor them... i.e., I'd literally just dropped my dog off, only to find out the pricing went up. A lot of problems and complaints are passed off to the staff to resolve. My dog came home with worms more than once, which I didn't raise an issue about, even though I had to take him to the vet for treatment. I should note that he is always up to date on all shots, heartworm/flea/tick meds, etc. The final straw was when I came back from a long day of travel, excited to see my dog, only to arrive at RR and be told that another dog had shredded his $200 Orvis blanket. It was obviously a very nice blanket, I would have appreciated a call from SOMEONE to give me a head's up or explain what happened... I don't think that's too much to ask of a small business owner, especially when I've been coming in for years. I'm not a new customer. I emailed her with my disappointment and to see if she could somehow offset it by giving me even just one free night of boarding as I had 10 days of travel for work coming up over the next 3 weeks. She said she was just making ends meet and they 'don't budget to account for replacing customers' dog blankets'. She insisted they advise all of their clients not to leave personal items. First, I was NEVER, EVER told this, or I would not have left the blanket in the first place! I was under the impression everyone brought blankets, that the dogs were put in somewhat private kennels to sleep in, and I assumed the blankets weren't left out all day long. I never asked for a $200 blanket reimbursement. After spending well over a thousand dollars over 4 years at Red Rover, I think the least she could do is offer an apology. Instead, I was told it was my fault for leaving the blanket. I'm sorry to say RR lost my business nearly a year ago. I was happy with so many of the staff members (we loved Tripp and Sarah!). However, at the end of the day, it's the owner's responsibility to ensure her customers are happy. The "dogs will be dogs" excuse only goes so far for so long, and it when it starts to be the excuse for everything, I begin to wonder what responsibility WOULD be taken if a much more detrimental issue came up. If you don't treat your customers like you value their business, we can easily go elsewhere for the same services at the same price. read more

My girlfriend and I take our basset hound Brutus here on a weekly basis. He loves it, so we love it. He comes home exhausted every time from a full day of playing. Heidi, the owner, and the rest of the staff, are wonderful. For trips that we need to leave Brutus, we leave him here and have the utmost trust in them. Highly recommended! read more

I can't say enough good things about Red Rover! The staff and owner are so attentive, friendly, and accommodating. My dog drags me inside every time we get out of the car there. You can really tell that all of the dogs LOVE being there. But, in terms of specifics, they are incredibly conveniently located, and have a HUGE amount of indoor and outdoor space for dogs in Downtown Nashville. All scheduling is available online and there are even webcams of the play areas, which makes it easy and reassuring for a new dog owner. The staff does simple training with the dogs during the day and they limit the number of dogs each day so that all the dogs get attention. Every time I pick up my dog, they can tell me how her day went and specific things that she did. All in all, a great daycare!! Also, they have in-house grooming which is great and also very convenient. read more

As an update, I've still been bringing my dog BeBe to Red Rover after all of these years, and I actually have a second dog that I adopted who was also a rescue (a feral puppy) that comes here for both daycare and boarding. It really helped the second dog to come as she was really shy and afraid during her first couple of years, but she has really blossomed and came out of her shell. Over the years, Heidi has been a great resource for training and general questions about dog behavior, and Morgan (one of the current employees) has a done an outstanding job getting to know my dogs and their personalities and temperaments. It's been so nice to have Red Rover as resource and to know that I can bring my dogs somewhere that I don't have to worry about them and leave them with people that I trust. read more

After stopping by Red Rover for a tour of the facility, I can definitely say that I will never leave my dogs there. As soon as you enter the building, the urine odor is so strong that it nearly made me sick. By the time I left, I was already getting a headache from the smell. During the tour, I was shown the "small dog room" which was a windowless room the size of a walk-in closet with several small dogs barking excitedly since there was no one with them in the room. I couldn't walk all the way into the room since the floor in front of the door was puddled with urine, some of which had started to dry. The overnight room seemed fine, had a bed and bathroom attached for overnight supervision which was a positive. The grooming room looked alright also, but we didn't go inside. The final room is what threw me the most, though. It was where all the other dogs were held. I was expecting "cage-free" as advertised throughout, but I guess "enclosures" aren't technically "cages" so even though it's very misleading, saying they are cage-free is not a complete lie... The large room was sectioned off using temporary walls, particle board and tarps. There were a few dogs per section, blockades were formed using a variety of random objects and materials to keep the dogs from one section from seeing another section. Kennels held other dogs that I guess just didn't mesh well with others. Then we went outside. They have an incredible 8 foot fence surrounding a lovely play yard. Sadly, they only utilize this beautiful yard for 2 hours a day, one hour in the morning and one hour in the afternoon. With a yard like that, I would hope it would be used so much more! When I asked why only 2 hours, I was told, "the dogs don't want to be out in this heat". Well, it's not always 80 degrees but you're policy won't change when the weather does. Lastly, they have 24 hour cameras on all the dogs! That's great, but after viewing the facility, the cameras have obviously been positioned carefully, which was another disappointment. In conclusion, great fence, 24/7 cameras and overnight supervision are great! But not great enough to make up for the other shortcomings. read more

I really like this place. They really take the time to get to know the dogs and their individual personalities. My dog gets so excited every time she figures out that she's going to dog daycare, and when I pick her up at the end of the day, she's aways exhausted! They don't cage the dogs at all, which means your dog gets the entire day to run around and wear themselves out. And when they need to nap, there's plenty of space for them to just plop down and go to sleep. Prices are consistent with most places in Nashville, but if you buy a package it reduces the price per day. I could try to find a place that's less expensive near where I live (far from Nashville), but honestly I'm just too pleased with Red Rover to go anywhere else. read more

Heidi and her staff are the best. We have been taking our Bassett hound there for years and adopted another hound a year ago. Heidi came to our house for one on one training and gave us tips on training her. She also continuously followed up with us and answered any questions I had after the training. We boarded our dogs last weekend and her and her staff were very attentive to our dogs especially our new addition since this was her first experience being boarded. There is no other place I can think of with amazing staff that I would entrust with our dogs. Thank you guys for everything you do. read more

My husband and I were visiting Nashville for two nights and needed a place to keep our pup since the downtown area is lacking in affordable pet-friendly hotels. Heidi was out in the front lobby when we dropped and picked up. Our dog is a rescue and can be a tad nervous around new folks for a few minutes until she relaxes and gets to know them, but she was immediately at ease with Heidi and happy to be greeted by Heidi's friendly rescue poodles. It is clear from talking to Heidi that she is a sincere dog lover and expert and is very knowledgeable about training and diet - she gave us some great tips! When we picked our pup up, she had clearly bonded with the staff and her body language conveyed how relaxing and fun her visit had been. I had expected her to be whining and crying when she first saw us, but she was very comfortable and obviously would have been happy to spend more time there! We lingered for a bit and had a great conversation with Heidi. She does rescue work, and her compassion shines through. The entire interaction for us and the dog was great from the start to the finish. read more

I took my dog Josie to Red Rover for 2 years, and the only reason we stopped is because I moved to Indianapolis. I can't speak highly enough of the owner, Heidi, and her great staff! They were very patient and loving with Josie when she first started there (she has some pretty bad separation anxiety) Before too long Josie was jumping out of the car with excitement as soon as we'd pull into the parking lot. She absolutely loved going there, and it put me at ease knowing she was getting great exercise and being watched over by people who truly love animals. Every time she got home, she'd be completely exhausted from a day full of playing. Also their Instagram updates are a great addition! I always loved it when I would be away traveling and see a picture or video of Josie out in the backyard running around with the other pups. We'll both miss this place dearly, and I encourage anyone looking for great day/night care, that is reasonably priced, to go check them out! read more
