No nail and bloody paw after picking her up from a groom.

Unfortunately I had a terrible experience at SouthPaws yesterday. I went in for a groom and they told me she was so agitated while getting blow dried that she "scratched her nail completely off". Either that's true and she was completely neglected while in distress, or they cut her nail off on accident and lied about it. Either way, it was not okay and what's worse is they still charged me for the service!! I have given this place my business for the last two years and sadly now I don't trust her in their care. I was shocked and disappointed at the way the situation was handled when I picked her up. I will now have to take her to the vet which is an expense I shouldn't have had to incur due to their carelessness. Being charged $60 to pick up my dog with a missing nail and bloody paw is just wrong.

Brought my dog his 3rd visit for a full groom and it was an excellent experience just as the other times before. Pup looks great, super friendly staff and very affordable prices.

This place spoils my bulldog. They are breed smart and spoil him. He is always excited to get there but not as happy to come home with boring ole mom. Definitely recommend

Do not bring your dogs here. My boy was dropped off and he has a humping problem. We told them this and they said "no problem! We'll take special care to train him out of it. And will keep an eye on it." The first time he was there he got into a scuffle and they put him in a separate room and also kept him up front with the elderly and staff dogs and he had a blast. The second time is when it takes a turn. I get a call that he got into a fight. That he bit another dog and she's requesting my info and that we pay for her dog's vet bill. The employee admits openly to me that they're short staffed so he left all the dogs alone for a while and left. However, we weren't allowed to look at the tapes from the fight. I asked several times only to be told no. We paid for her vet bill to be nice, but when my dog got home, he had HUGE bite marks on his throat and an infection they didn't tell us about. We saw an employee on camera once throw my dog into a kennel and not check on him once after. The woman (whose dog my dog got into a fight with) then starts emailing me saying I'm lying because they told her my dog had been kicked out of every doggy daycare in the area for being "aggressive". Uh this is the ONLY doggy daycare he's ever been to. So that's news to me. Steer clear of this place!

Overall, this established should be awarded the SHITTY CUSTOMER SERVICE AWARD. Come on down if you want shitty experience, cause you'll get it here! I brought my dog here several times to have his nails clipped and pads trimmed which they did an OK job. Several times his nails were cut a little too short causing him to bleed. Unfortunately, I picked him up with blood crusted on his fur/skin. This place has ZERO attention to detail in keeping their clients "clean" when returned to their owners. My dog is a white/red Papillion and has a red patch near his bum. I finally brought him in for a grooming appt and asked to cut the white fur around the red into the shape of a heart. Well, aside from hacking the red patch with clippers and the 3.5 hours time it took to groom a 15lb dog, the customer service at this place is absolutely awful and ridiculous. For the 3.5 hours my dog was under SouthPaws care, he had NO WATER. He drank water for over a minute when we arrived home. They told me he had "access to work" which was near other dogs, which my dog steered clear of that area, but they didn't bring a bowl to him. I also informed the person on the other end (an ignorant teenage kid) that I wasn't happy with the "heart" - he was completely silent for over 10 seconds. When I responded with "well, I guess no response is a response", he replied back, "I'm not sure what you want me to say". Has this kid EVER had customer service training? The response is common sense...but we all know that not everyone has these basic skills. I called back to ask for the manager's name, and the woman who answered the phone refused to give me information and hung up on me. She was so rude, full of attitude and never once offered an apologize or acknowledgement of the awful services my dog and I received. About 20 mins later and without my request, they provided me with a full refund. Obviously they realized their faults, especially at my expressed anger. This was a poor attempt to downgrade the shitty customer service because it doesn't place any hesitation in writing this review.

First SouthPaws groom. We'll be coming back!

We've just switched groomers and this was our first time at SouthPaws. They did a terrific job from scheduling, to working with us to understand and get a picture of what we wanted for Jesse - not an exact Bichon cut, to timely completion of the groom, and, most importantly, grooming him exactly as we asked for. The price was reasonable and we'll be coming back!

We love and highly recommend Southpaws to all of our friends. This is our go-to spot for reliable boarding. The employees are extremely caring and dog friendly! We love having a trusted place to leave our Australian Shepard when we are traveling. We enjoy checking the cameras to see him having a blast!

Our labradoodle loves it here! He is an Australian labradoodle with longish hair; he needs a lot of grooming and can get a little matted. He always looks good after his groom and we love that they offer a "face/feet/fanny" option for in between full grooms. He is always happy when we pick him up and the staff is great with him.

After a bunch of dud groomers who just wanted to shave my Sheepadoodle down, we found Vee at southpaws and she has been a God-send. Loves my baby like her own, always goes the extra mile to make sure I get the result I ask for and is just an all around wonderful person. We are moving an hour away and for our last groom, Vee even got Slim a special present with treats, frisbee, comb, the sweetest little canvas of his paw print and a card that legit brought me to tears. Will be going out of my way to drive him up for grooms whenever I can, just so my baby can see his favorite friend. 100% recommend taking your dog to see Vee at Southpaws!

This was my first experience at Southpaw. Veronica did a wonderful job taking care of Stanley's anxiety issues and even handling his "love bite." Fortunately the skin wasn't broken.

Thus, you have to be careful when grooming them because you could damage their undercoat and fur if you use mechanical trimmers. We picked PPPS because of the positive yelp reviews. We booked our pup for an appointment. PPPS uses text to communicate with you and the communication is excellent. PPPS needed vaccine records and many additional details to make sure it was safe for all the other pups at their location. We dropped off Zoey and spoke with the groomer (Bree). Bree was very aware of how to properly groom an Aussie. We had a brief conversation about what we wanted and believed Zoey was in capable hands. When Zoey was done, we got a text to pick her up. I was greeted upon arrival and Zoey was led out to me right away. Zoey looked fantastic!!! Bree groomed her exactly the way we had discussed. Zoey looked even better than I had hoped. I gave Bree a $20.00 tip. When I brought Zoey home and my wife saw her, my wife loved the grooming. My wife's only complaint was that I should have given Bree a bigger tip. I will fix that the next time we bring Zoey in for a groom.

This Pet Resorts of America sits on Charlotte Pike in West Nashville and is perched up on a hill overlooking the busy street below. The dogs have to love this view when they are playing outdoors...so many cars to bark at! We usually take our little dude, Tucker, to day care twice per week, so for us it was more cost effective to buy in bulk. We purchased a set of 10 visits and the staff are good at keeping up with renewal times so he never goes without his play days. This location has two sides/buildings...one for grooming and the other for daycare. They are connected, but have different entry and pick up points/times. We have utilized their grooming services, but for us it is a little too expensive for the low maintenance coat that our pup has. So, we now take him to the nearby Petco every few weeks at a discounted price comparatively. For daycare, the price is decent, and becomes better with package pricing. Tucker loves his day care friends and family, and they love him! Even if we are gone for a few weeks, when he walks in they immediately greet him by name and rush him back to the play areas. We also have special food we feed him that requires refrigeration. They made sure to ask if he likes it heated or cold. Heated of course because he is spoiled, but he will eat it either way...and it was nice that they asked! Overall, we really enjoy Pet Resorts for our little dudes day care shenanigans!

Here is a review of boarding dogs insPet Resorts of America in Nashville after some reflection…read more Make sure you differentiate between reviews of day care vs boarding when you read the reviews. To be fair, I will discuss both the positives and negatives. Positives: This business offers an option to board your dogs in the Nashville area that has, at least, a little bit of exposure to the outdoors. There are not many options close to the city. The most positive aspect of the kennel is the quality and friendliness of the staff. Negatives: I think this business is overshadowed by thinly veiled deception. The pictures on the site show dogs swimming in pools or playing in outdoor spaces. One needs to dig to discover that this kennel only guarantees to put your dog in a kennel with two undefined "walks" a day. To have your pet play with other dogs or swim in the pool, you must pay for each experience per day. Be sure to take a walk in the facility before committing your dog to stay there. A walk in the compound will reveal countless unhappy dogs barking at you for attention. This reminds me of visits to maximum security prisons. I dropped my dogs off and they were quickly overheated. This was on a Thursday. On Friday, I wanted an update of their health and a picture of them in the pool or play area. There was no response. If you check the kennel hours and times for staff response, they are highly restricted. The prices for putting your dog in a hot kennel with minimal interaction is $69 per day, per my experience as the base line price. I find this overpriced. Then they charge additional fees for things like playing with other dogs. I found this practice to be deceptive and insulting. I will never return to this facility. I can only thank the kind staff who work in a deceptive, potentially harmful, business model. Pet Resorts of America Nashville should be ashamed to be a business. You have the opportunity to do much better.
