I always enjoy coming here. As a bourbon collector they always have an impressive selection. Everything is impeccably clean and strategically organized. I love some craft beers especially IPA and they do not disappoint with that selection either. You will find some rare beers here, nothing is overpriced. His recommendations are always thoughtful and spot-on, and he goes out of his way to guide me toward bottles I wouldn't have found on my own. When COVID-19 happens, so do liquor store runs. Don't judge me. We all have needs and this sure was one that needed to be fulfilled! They were extremely professional and well aware of the current situation. People were lined up outside of the store with an employee limited the number of people who entered and exited. In perfect fashion, I show up with gloves and a mask on. People looked at me like I was a foreign creature, but I knew I was using good judgment by dressing in such. I was pleasantly surprised to see many items I regularly get to be at a lower price than that of what I usually pay. My moonshine was $23.99 instead of the usual $25.99 or $26.99. I will spare a couple of bucks anywhere that I can. My tequila was roughly $4 less than what I normally pay. Every dollar I can prevent from spending due to inflation is a win in my book. Red Spirits and Wine have a vast selection that could fit any wallet and budget. They're well-stocked with your common items and they don't downplay specialty items either. They are also willing to order stuff for you if you want it. That was super nice of them to tell me. I think it is worth the haul out here. If you need your fix during the COVID-19 times, they also do deliveries over $50 within a certain mileage span or do curbside pickup where you do not have to go in the store at all. read more

I have only recently started going there as Dream Girl moved not too far away, The selection is great and all employees are friendly and want to help if I seem to be wandering aimlessly. Some years ago I had heard from a friend about how good the store is, but I really didn't know where it was then. One thing I like is the way that empty boxes are neatly placed near the exit. During DG's move, I often zipped in for a few boxes to use in packing her things. They stock Old Grandad Bottled-in-Bond bourbon which I like, but isn't always found in other stores. I really like that they have local alcohol choices from Nashville such a section with just wines from Tennessee. I ended up discovering a few brands I had never heard of and got recommendations from one of the staff members. I was looking for some items to make a pretty simple cocktail and she was so helpful. If you wander in here not really knowing what you're looking for then that's okay because you are sure to find something you will like. They have had every wine I've tried to find and their prices are excellent! They have the Austin Hope Cab for ten-twenty dollars less than most places. You'll be asked if you need anything at least once on your trip and the staff go above and beyond to help you. They also have a great selection of Nashville beers! I have always had a great experience here! They've got an extensive range of wines, all sorted by region or type of wine. I was able to find my favorite Spanish Tempranillo at Red which is hard to find! The prices are fair and not super inflated like other liquor stores, and the employees are always knowledgeable, helpful, and kind. Last time I visited the store, an employee (I forget his name but he had long hair!) walked me through the different types of Pinot Noir and how they taste and was able to help me find a new favorite. 3.5 Again. Bellevue does it again. I don't know what it is about 37221 and the demand for good beer, wine & spirits... but I like it. Red is in my top three shops for grown-up juice for all of Davidson County. If you haven't been and you like to sippy sippy happy happy, you owe it to yourself to check it out. To begin with, it's right next door to a Gold's Gym. I sort of love that. While folks next door are pumping iron and getting fit, Red is the proverbial devil on the other shoulder enticing people to take a little nip. FWIW, Red always seems fuller. Once you walk in, look to the right and grab a cart. You're going to need it. There's a lot of square footage here and an abundance of choice. Whether you're in to beer, wine and/or spirits, you're more than covered. This is a big clean store. Beer: goodness gracious. Not only does Red sport a nice beer selection for a non beer specific store (it's not going to beat Craft Brewed but no one in Nashville beats Craft Brewed), they offer build-your-own six packs (from the stack of singles AND from the non-bound six packs on the shelves) and a large selection of non-IPA beers! What? It's a beer miracle. Nashvillians, there's so much more to the world of beer than hops. Please please please please please start drinking beer other than IPAs. I promise you'll like it. The first time I came to Red, I was in a brown ale state of mind. This time of year, my beer goggles point in the direction of Belgian blondes. Red's got a nice selection of both plus ciders, tripels, quads, porters, stouts, saisons, and the like. If you're into beer, head to the back and spend some time looking around. Wine: there's wine from all over located all over. Wines are grouped by type, region and come equipped with cards that describe their taste profiles. Unsure of what it is you want to try? Either look for a floor associate or go to the middle of the store and ask someone who's standing behind the large alcohol oracle portal. I've never been disappointed in a recommendation I've gotten here neither have I been let down with the wide variety of wines from which to choose. The customer service is as good as advertised. Spirits: let it not be said that it's impossible to buy local when it comes to spirits. Red has a great selection of local rum, whiskey, bourbon, vodka, and gin purveyors. Yes, they have all the popular brands you remember from college, the club and music videos. But they also boast a nice selection of small batch wonders that you owe to yourself to try. Again, there are racks and racks of spirits. Take your time to look around, ask questions and make the best choice for yourself. It's totally fair to go with what you know you like but there ain't nothing wrong with trying something new. The only slight gripe is that spirit prices tend to run a bit high. read more

I have been driving up from Franklin TN to visit Red for at least nine months because it's always worth the time and effort to visit this fine wine and spirits shop. I met Grant, the wine manager several months ago but I got to spend some more time today talking with him. He has superb knowledge of many wines and makes great recommendations. I mentioned that I like Gewurztraminer so he immediately ran off to the back room and pulled out a couple of bottles that he'd been saving for himself and his wife. He offered them to me because they were at a good price and he knew I would like them. They are chilling down right now for a taste test tonight. Shopping carts are just to the right of the front door. You probably will need one. Then, to make my visit even more enjoyable, I met Mark, the spirits manager. I started off by complimenting him on the fine hand selected barrel of High West Rendezvous Rye that was bottled exclusively for Red. It may be my favorite rye of all time. After that, he showed me a special tequila that he and selected and it even has his name on the bottle. He picked a winner with the Rendezvous so I am confident this tequila will be fantastic as well. I'll know soon because it's 5 o'clock somewhere. Nice craft beer selection at the back of the shop. Hint: you get a case discount if you buy at least 12 bottles so don't arrive by bicycle. Go see Mark and Grant soon. You'll be happy you did. read more

booze samples were being given out when I went there, got a beer they were serving I liked, prices were undercutting my normal places sometimes by $9 a bottle. Stocked up on several things there. Points off as they were missing some boozes, one of my beverages I had to go back and snap a picture for them to find the thing as it was not in their computer, and then it was but not for the size I had, and then it wasn't and then it was. Amazing selection of wine, liquors, spirits, etc. I mean, I've never seen so many different kinds of everything, I felt like I was in a specialty grocery store the first time I went. Staff is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. They have tastings a couple times a week too! Pricing looked normal to me, and for some reason we noticed that their signage all over the store was very easy to read. So, it's the little things. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because of their location. It's a little far from the city, but I guess that's how they were able to get such a huge space to fit all the wines! And they told me they're still adding shelves! Very new, clean, and full of promise. I don't think RED is going anywhere. read more

The POS system declines my cards every time I'm in there. Its gotten to the point where I have to leave the store, use the same card at their ATM, and then come back in and pay with cash. The cashiers are very sympathetic and help as best they can. When I ask management about it, they shrug their shoulders literally and say they'll talk to the owner. It seems like everyone there knows their system is a mess but no one can fix it? I signed up to yelp just for this. They have a great selection, and their customer service is great for the most part. They're knowledgeable when it comes to spirits and wine. And the check out process aside from the card readers is a pleasure. The cashiers are always nice and helpful. Id recommend just fixing the POS and stop putting lower level employees in the position of having to apologize for upper managements short sightedness. Im a regular customer, and would like to continue to be one, but if your machines dont let me pay you, Ill have to start shopping across the street. I went back to Red as I had some extra time to kill and I was happy to see that what started off good had become great. I spoke to one of their staff and commented that their bourbon selection had increased pretty substantially. He told me that they had started out with a moderate assortment, but they had listened to their customers, who were asking for more and better bourbons. They are still not on their own rack, but they did say they were thinking of changing that. I also love liquor stores that employ knowledgeable people. While not everyone in the store is knowledgeable about bourbon, several of them are (I suppose its OK for the others to know about things like wine or vodka). So Bellevue finally got some liquor stores and the world didn't end! Amazing! Not only did we get liquor stores, but we got very lucky and got this fine establishment. This place is ridiculously large and full of almost anything you could possibly be looking for. They have a huge selection(that is very well organized....probably more so than the majority of any type of store I've been to) that includes your more popular name brands to a good representation of local wines and liquor. The prices are also very good, I've noticed many things that I was purchasing elsewhere for a few dollars less here. The staff is very knowledgable and friendly so no worries that they will point you in the wrong direction. The first time we were here they had not only a wine tasting but a bourbon tasting as well. Bonus points for that and actually letting us taste both. This has very quickly become my go-to place when in the mood for alcohol. It happens to be in the neighborhood, but even if I had to drive further away it would be worth it to come here. read more

I had really high expectations of Red and maybe that's why this is only a three star review. It certainly wasn't a bad experience (although I was NOT happy that the price for Belevedere vodka was more than $10 more expensive than it would have been to buy in Chicago last week when I was there). Other liquors seemed a little pricey too, but I hadn't recently looked at prices for anything else to compare to. That said, their liquor and wine selections are huge and I'm sure that there is something for anyone, at any price point. But those knowledgable employees that evereyone else talks of? I found none of those. I would have bought a different vodka perhaps, with a little bit of help finding one with the taste that I prefer (I am particular about my vodka), but no one offered to help. Even after I wandered wide-eyed into the wine section, hoping that maybe I'd at least find something to drink for the weekend no offers of help until I was actually walking out the door. At that point, it's too little too late. I'm sure I'll give it another shot - the selection can't be beat (in this neighborhood at least). But I hope that I find something that will wow me a bit more next time I'm there. read more

I must've looked lost since my eyes were wide in wonder at their offerings and how WELL LABELED their stock was!
