Bought a pair of work boots back in October, associate told me these had a 6 month manufacture warranty and he mentioned it covered any stitching coming off or if water got inside them. Today is February 5th, still under warranty, i took my boots back due to a stitching that legitimately came off, associate wanted me to drop off my boots for 3-5 days so they can fix it... does that sound like manufacture warranty ? not to me, I took my boots because I need them for work. read more

I got a red wing gift certificate for christmas. I generally wear Danner boots so I I decided to drop in since I was in town and see what Red Wing had to offer. I did not have the gift certificate with me and was up front with the salesman about the fact that I just wanted to see what they had available that day so I can get an idea of what I would want to spend my gift card on. The salesman was very helpful and showed me the different options and took the time to explain the different boot construction options. I am very picky on my boots and while they are probably good quality, almost everything they had in the store felt lightweight compared to what I'm used to. I asked if they had a logger style and he only had one in brown nubuck leather that was insulated. I told him I did not want insulated but he brought it out for me to try on to see if I like the style anyway which was nice of him. Red Wing has temporarily discontinued the black logger style boot which is what I really wanted. He said that it is in the dealer catalog for this year but does not have a release date yet. He said to check back mid spring so I will be giving them a call around that time. I don't know if I should have taken a star off. I did that because of selection. I was disappointed in their selection of the heavier duty rugged boots. To start with I'm disappointed with corporate Red wing's offerings which if it were only that would not be the fault of the local store. But even within the limited offerings of the style and ruggedness of boots that I like, the local store was lacking. For most people this is probably not a problem given that most people in our area probably do not wear the type of boots that I wear but I do my reviews based on a company's ability to serve my needs. Red Wing does not seem like it is what it was 25 years ago the last time I bought a pair of Red Wing boots. read more

These are the nicest sales people I've ever encountered. Very knowledgable about the product they sell. I've been a faithful Red Wing boot person for over 30 years. I've only shopped at this store because the location is close to home. I buy the same style of boots every time so I can only speak about the Classic Chukka #3140. Lightweight and very comfortable. Some shoes can get a little pricey, but look what you get, a quality shoe that will last you years. Best work boots and costumer service you will find! read more

I wanted to give this place a 5 star because the manager Roy U. provided such good service. Only reason I docked a point is because the other employees are not as knowledgable as Roy & also they dont help people in order sometimes as other reviews have already mentioned. Also I had to come in because the pair I bought 2 years ago had soles that had already started coming apart. This specific style of shoe cannot be resoled either so I had to throw the pair away, a little disappointing considering how expensive these shoes are. For the most part the service we received was great the guy who helped us was super patient and great with getting the various different type shoes my husband wanted to try on...where i am giving the bad review though is on is an employee who thought it was fully acceptable to grab a little boy by the back of the shirt and pull him roughly back because the little boys dad apparently made a joke about keeping him at the store...the employee (who's lucky I didn't catch his name because I surely would air that out) thought it was ok even though he didn't know the boy or the customer that was shopping in the store! My son and I paid this store a visit today. The guy that helped us out (was wearing a pair of black beckman boots and a timex weekender wristwatch) - was a delight. Sadly, only this young sales guy and a young asian sales guy are the assets at this particular store. They were both informative, helpful and actually friendly. My first experience was good, they size you and everything. The price was high, but I have back problems so I was hoping it was worth it. They ended up giving me the wrong shoe. I decided to try out the Red Wing store in my quest for some work boots. Number one thing I noticed when I walked in is they have a nice selection of styles and the staff was very knowledgeable. Then we got down to what I needed in a work boot, let me tell you WOW expensive!! The line of work I am in the boots wouldn't last but maybe six months at the most, so I couldn't justify 300 bucks for a pair of boots that would last only six months. Decided not to buy boots here but I wanted to rate the service I received and the selection they have. Just beware the sticker shock can be a bit much! read more

Went in today at noon. Stood around for about 10 minutes two people walked in a few minutes later both were waited on before me. I stood around for another 10 minutes waiting for someone to even acknowledge me being there. Nothing. Every single employee there walked past me at least once, not one of them said a single word to me. If they would have said "we will be with you soon" I would have stayed. I don't need crappy service for over priced boots. If they have more than 2 customers when you walk in, do yourself a favor and go back later or go somewhere else. read more

I drove 40 miles to get a pair of boots here. It's was 3:46 pm on a Saturday and they supposedly close at 530 pm. As I walked up to the store an employee unlocked the door to let a customer out and tried to close the door in my face saying they were closed. This was THE very worst shoe store I've ever been to! The boots were very expensive, but the owner assured me that each pair of their boots and shoes came with a one year warranty. So I had the owner himself size my feet, to make sure I got the right size. I bought two pairs of their boots. I wore the boots only around the house on the carpeting, to made sure they fit right. One pair fit way too small, and couldn't ware them without pain. And the other pair was defective, and the soles split in half just wearing them on my carpet. Meanwhile, my parents purchased a pair of boots for me as a gift, but didn't know my size and bought me a pair 3 sizes too small, so I couldn't even get them on my feet. So I promptly returned the two pairs that I bought, but the owner was very rude, refused to exchange or refund me for either pair of boots, not even the defective pair where the sole split open while trying them on on my carpet! Soon thereafter I also tried to exchange the pair of boots my parents purchased for me. But he fused to return those too!!!! So much for their one year warranty!!! I called their corporate office to work out an exchange, but their corp. was just as aweful!!! It will be a cold day in hell before I ever again buy any boots or shoes from this or any Red Wing Boot store!!! read more

I wish everyone would stop being in shock that their boots are expensive. You have obviously never owned a pair. I've owned some work boots from them but I no longer need tough boots anymore. I am more of a fan of their heritage collection which this store carried just one model at the time which is a shame. They only had the iron rangers in one color but no moc toe, beckman, or blacksmith. I agree that their service is top notch but I don't agree with their sizing recommendations. They always offer to size you and every time they tell me I am a different size than what I normally wear. They always offer me 2 sizes up from what I wear even though every time I buy boots they are one size smaller than my regular shoe size. They tell me it is because they are trying to line the arch in my foot with the appropriate arch of the higher shoe size. If I took their opinion I would look like clown feet and would of wasted $300. read more
