I have visited this store a few times but have not interacted with the staff due to the crowds. A friend had been urging me to try Hoka Shoes for their comfort while running. When I finally came in, Brian assisted me and explained the usual foot scanning process, which I was not keen on since I just wanted to purchase shoes. However, he was very knowledgeable about the options I inquired about. We identified a pair I thought I liked, but it felt a bit tight. He encouraged me to undergo the foot scan, which provided insights into the fit, leading him to recommend a different pair that turned out to be fantastic. I purchased my mom a gift card for Fleet Feet so she can get comfortable walking shoes. A week later she told me she got her walking shoes but told me not to get her a gift card from fleet feet again. I asked why?!! She told me she had a terrible experience. I dug some more as I realized my mom did not want to talk about it. After a bit of pushing the subject my mom told me she went in and looked at different shoes and decided on a few walking shoes... she asked a young Hispanic lady to help her... my mom's is Hispanic and speaks broken English. She asked the young woman if she spoke Spanish. Young woman said no. My mom is her most broken English asked for her size and tried her shoes on. My mom did not know how to ask to properly size her foot....so she just said I will take these.... at the register I guess the girl forgot she told her she did not speak Spanish.... and all of a sudden she asked my mom in Spanish to have a good day..... my mom was stunned... and asked her shocked, "wait I thought you did not speak Spanish!?" embarrassingly the lady replied, "Yes I guess I do. I thought it was easy to just say I did not" .... my mom was very disappointed and I am sure she told the young lady how disappointed she was. My mom is in her 60s and its disappointed that young Hispanic kids don't go above and beyond to help elders especially those that speak the same tongue. Its disappointing. What is more disappointing is I feel my mom did not get the service she deserved such as measuring her foot and taking the foot evaluation. If I knew service was going to be this crappy I could have just ordered her shoes online. I hope through this review that the manager or someone higher in the food chain could evaluate their customer service practices. She was not kind. My heart sank when my mom told me this. I came for shoes that can support my pronation, bunions, and flat feet. Aidan was my sales rep that helped me through the selection/buying process. He scanned my feet to pull valuable information about how probated my ankles are, recommended sizes for each foot, etc. This information along with my needs for a shoe helped him provide many options to choose from. We tried different options of shoes from different brands as well as different insoles with different grades that will ultimately make me feel comfortable and support my needs. Not sure if there was a sign in sheet. I just helped myself to trying on the display shoes about 20 minutes & came home to order the shoes & inserts online. I visited this store upon the recommendation of my podiatrist, yes, a medical professional. I had a list of shoes from her that she'd asked me to try, for the specific issues I have with my feet. The person who asked if she could help me (I believe the manager in duty) promptly told me that podiatrists "don't know about shoes". Wait, seriously? So I answered her query about what my feet issues were, and stood on her machine...only to have her confirm what I'd told her. Then she asked me to step on the metal thing to measure my size, and didn't adjust it. She proclaimed my size to be larger than the size I wear, then said the reason I had plantar fasciitis was because I wore too tight shoes. Again, seriously? She then turned me over to her assistant, because folks she clearly had a positive repore with came into the store, and their friendly banter began. The poor young lady she pushed me off onto showed me two pairs of way too big shoes, so hideous that I'd prefer to walk on glass than wear them. I thanked her without taking them out of the box, and left. I got great assistance at another nearby sporting goods store that sold the shoes my doctor recommended, in my correct size. What a waste of time, and insulting at the very least. If you run a specialty shop, don't disregard medical professionals who send you customers, and certainly don't hand out medical advice as if you are a licensed doctor. I won't be going back. Really good shoes are expensive, and my repeat business will be with the other store. *Oh, and after reading other reviews, I'm even more upset, as one of the several shoes I listed as being interested in trying, were the Hoka shoes other reviewers have raved about this store carrying...odd that I'd be told they didn't carry them?! Perhaps my casual attire led the staff to believe I couldn't afford them? Hmmmm...guess they didn't look past my joggers and tshirt to see the karats on my wedding ring, Apple Watch or Ōura ring...as if it matters. I walked in with my husband. There were three attendants; one was helping a customer and two were talking to each other. I was looking at the shoe display and they still did not approach me to ask if I needed help. They did approach my husband, though, at which time I walked towards them and said I needed help. The attendant asked me to step on the device that scans your foot, and then he tells me that my arch is fallen, which I already know. No other info was provided and I wasn't given the scan to look at. Rather than bring me the shoe I had chosen, he brought me a different one, much more expensive, of course, and some inserts. I tested the shoe with inserts, myself, and walked around the store. No comments or further assistance provided. Suffice to say, the staff that day was lacking in customer care and legitimate knowledge. That day being February 14th. read more

Alicia is my foot savior! I've been suffering from Morton's Neuroma for 2 years and all I can wear without pain are Birkenstocks. Obviously, these shoes don't work for every scenario or season so I was looking for an athletic shoe to walk around in that didn't cause the pebble feeling and pain that all other shoes do. As soon as I walked in Alicia greeted me and got right to work. She explained everything to me and was super knowledgeable about the different shoes and what they offer. I have shopped at the Fleet Feet in Folsom awesome experience both times, while visiting my son. Went to the Lincoln Center store. Totally different customer service. I wanted Hoka trail shoes, they didn't have a wide, so they grudgingly ordered me a pair. When they came in they felt like I needed a size larger. Young kid talked me out of it. While paying I mentioned I had a $15 coupon on my account. Salesmen said he got it, then proceeded to talk to a co worker. When the transaction was complete, I mentioned he didn't take the coupon off. He called over the mgr who said they could give me a $15 STORE credit. I said no, take it off the shoes. He then said " it's good for 6 mons. I said I won't need anymore shoes within 6 months. I ended up returning the shoes and buying online using the $15 coupon!!! First time I came to the store no one greeted me which was kind of weird. I had to go up to a worker who was putting away shoes to help me. Once he did start to assist me though he was very helpful. I told him my running type, weekly mileage, and the previous shoe I had so he went to the back and pulled out 4 shoes that he thought I would like. In the end, the store didn't have the size of the shoes I wanted so he ordered them and then called me a week later to tell me the shoes were in. I was deciding between 2 shoes, so he was nice enough to order both. I ended up choosing the Brooks Ghost 9 The best part is their 60-day return policy. Even if you run in them outside a few times and don't like them, you can still return them. This is the best return policy I've ever seen for running stores. I will definitely be returning once I wear these new shoes to the ground. They also have a running club. Every Tuesday you can meet at the store at 5:30 and do a 3 or 5-mile run with the staff and other fellow local runners. On Sundays they do a trail run at 7am. One of these days I'd like to try running with them and see what it's like. read more

The store is small and clean but the employees are very knowledgeable and super friendly. Alicia helped me and I told her my concerns, injuries, and about my want for a shoe with great cushioning. She took that into consideration when showing me shoes and explained them all in detail. I've been running in my shoes for about a week now and definitely notice a different between them and my last pair. They were fantastic but I think the only downside is that they have a smaller selection of colors available than I could find in another store or online (but nothing beats an online store in terms of variety, usually). read more
