A very odd course layout, jaw dropping fast greens, none traditional course design, all makes this stand out as fighter jet ride that ends in a club house that has a bigger personality than Elvis and Vegas. Off you go on a par 5 that dog legs left then right. And if you ever make it to the green, u get a marble on ice experience that is sure to leave you wonder about the rest of the 17 holes. But a much needed break comes quickly as the 4th hole is a movie legend with a plaque to celebrate it's uniqueness. This stands on it's own like the TPC Sawgrass #17 or Amen Corner at Augusta. With a bit of imagination, and a challenge of the "going for it" movie theme from your friends, this is like top golf, except not fake like a Treasures employee. The rest of the course is the same beautiful surroundings, Ferrari fast greens, trees to bat down your shots with a higher percentage than Mutumbo, and breath taking views to sooth the ever building depression. Rich people have it all, which means the chances of me ever becoming a member is like winning the lottery of power ball.

Each hole is unique and challenging. The course is cut out of the woods so there no homes. There are some cabins you can stay in that are fully furnished. We did an over night golf trip and parked our golf carts at our cabin. The place is 1st class!

The gentleman shared a local glazed donut with me (which was awesome) told me a little about the course and we were off! The course was in great shape, the greens too! What a beautiful day and a beautiful round. Pace of play was ever a problem, beverage snack crew came around plenty of times and they were very accommodating. Weeks later we are still talking about it and looking for an excuse to drive back! Thanks Wilderness for the great round and hospitality, one of my top golf experiences since I am have lived in Texas!

I told the pro in the shop that I came to visit my friend but he didn't wanted to play due to the weather. I ask him if we could pay to you the range since I live in Bryan, Tx. He was grateful to charge a small amount so we could hit some balls. They let us use a cart so we did not to walk . It was a great time using the range and give my friend to exercises. Thank for the kindness shows to you. We will be back to play here.

We only saw the cart girl once during our round. Golf carts were old and beat up with no coolers. I was given a bag of ice to keep my drinks cold. Alex was in the process of shop and was very helpful. The food and drinks are priced fairly, and were served expeditiously. Overall experience was ok, but course could have been in much better shape. I wanted to take a shower after my round, but there is no locker room with facilities on site.

That being said, the value cannot be matched - even from most municipal courses. A round plus cart is only going to cost you around $30 and that price is even lower on the week days and in the afternoon. One of the other pluses is that you will have no problem booking a tee time basically whenever you desire. Typically, there are only a handful of golfers at the course even on a Saturday. The negatives are that this is a very no frills golf course. Many times there are large patches of dirt in the fairways and when you do find grass - it is essentially of the quality you would find in your back yard. The greens are particularly slow. I'm not sure what type of grass they use, but it might just be the same used in the fairway cut shorter - very strange. I know that they have been restricted on the amount of water they used due to the drought conditions. That could be a contributing factor. Even with these negatives, I do like coming out here regularly. I can afford to play this course frequently and you will rarely have a group behind you "breathing down your neck" because the tee times are so close together.

Let me start out by saying that I'm no Tiger Woods. I can't shoot under par. I can't sink an eagle…read morefrom 50 feet out. I'm not dating a supermodel (even though I'm VERY happy with the one I got). What I do enjoy is a round of golf with some of buddies, drinking a beer per hole, keeping score roughly according to PGA guidelines (yeah right), and just having a great time out on the Links. Now with that being said, I can really care less where I play as long as I get to play. I don't need a course designed by Jack Nicklaus for me to have a good time. This is why I enjoy Indian Shores GC so much. Its not like Kingwood CC or TPC at the Woodlands. In fact this makes your average municipal GC look like Tour 18. This is just your friendly neighborhood 9 hole GC on Lake Houston. You want beer? Bring your own damn beer! Oh we do. Oh we do. I'm not going to hole by hole describing the layout and best possible approach shots, partly because the course is in such poor shape its quite pointless to have a gameplan. Just hit the damn ball and pray it goes straight. If not, drink some more. The key is to be relaxed when you do your backswing. Trust me, I'm a tour pro at this type of golf. -The tee box is the highlight of the course. Need I say anymore about the rest? -The fairways are very short and wide open. The grass is either ankle length, which offers little to no roll - or - there is NO grass and its just hard dirt, which makes a 200 yard drive end up closer to 300. Awesome. -I think there is a total of 5 bunkers on the whole course. Beautiful! -The greens are fast and actually well kept for such a course The best thing about this course except for the BYOB is the green fee. For about 15 bucks you can play 18 holes of golf. Or 3-4 hours of a drinking party while attempting to play golf. Either way its a win-win situation.

Ground was so hard you couldn't make divots, your club would just bounce off the ground. Made it hard to get under the ball. Couldn't put my tee in the ground because of how hard the ground was. Couldn't tell the difference between the rough and the fairway and some parts of the "fairway" was just dried up dirt. I played a few holes and left, waste of money. My golf carts breaks didn't work either. The cart path was a gravel trail that was so bumpy my water bottle fell out of the cup holder and spilled everywhere. They didn't even have have water stations because they said they didn't have a "cooling system" all you need is a bucket filled with water and ice like what's so hard about that? Anyway I would never recommend playing here
