That being said, the value cannot be matched - even from most municipal courses. A round plus cart is only going to cost you around $30 and that price is even lower on the week days and in the afternoon. One of the other pluses is that you will have no problem booking a tee time basically whenever you desire. Typically, there are only a handful of golfers at the course even on a Saturday. The negatives are that this is a very no frills golf course. Many times there are large patches of dirt in the fairways and when you do find grass - it is essentially of the quality you would find in your back yard. The greens are particularly slow. I'm not sure what type of grass they use, but it might just be the same used in the fairway cut shorter - very strange. I know that they have been restricted on the amount of water they used due to the drought conditions. That could be a contributing factor. Even with these negatives, I do like coming out here regularly. I can afford to play this course frequently and you will rarely have a group behind you "breathing down your neck" because the tee times are so close together.

The clubhouse was nice. I loved the white and black decor. The cart rental was $27. Meh. My husband walked the front 9 and had over 12,000 steps so you can tell, the holes are pretty spaced out. When going with a little kid, having a cart wasn't terrible so we weren't trailing behind so much. Driving range and chipping and putting green were open and in good condition. Loved that they were RIGHT THERE and not a hike away. The course itself was pretty nice. The fairways and greens were well taken care of. Some of the cart paths could use some work, they're broken and cracked. Some reader weren't sure if they were marked out of bounds or not. We'd see a red stake but no other stake... so is it out or not??? Bunkers were not ranked and hard as a rock. Of course the bunker our kid hit into didn't have a rack available since we were able to pick it up, rake and drop. (Ugh) There were workers draining some bunkers that had turned to swimming pools. The front 9 were a bit challenging to our 8 year old. He took a 50 but had some sh*t shots. My husband wants to come back and play all 18. So we'll definitely be back! 5-star for being just plain unique and a fun experience.

Greens and fairways are very well kept. Good luck if you hit out of bounds, you'll likely lose your ball as grass is thick. Pro shop and bar staff are all great! Price is very fair. Amazing course but for the price could offer more…read more Course: They have a member course and non-member (tournament) course. We played the tournament course and we're blown away by how gorgeous it was ! There was so much nature and space. The views were amazing and the greens were well maintained. I also loved that they not only had a driving range, but an area to practice various other parts of your game which was amazing! Unfortunately, being so large, the course was a bit confusing and we never saw anyone to ask directions from. A lot of split cart paths didn't have signs and even some of the holes were missing their signs. The carts did have maps but our cart kept getting confused about where on the map it was. This made it challenging for first time visitors. Cost: Compared to other courses, the cost here is pretty high. It was about $110 per person not including cart. For such a high cost I did expect the carts/cart maps to work better and there to be more available on the course (there were no trash cans at holes and no cart girl. There was only 1 place to refresh at hole 10, which is normal but was pretty lack luster). Halfway house: The best part of this was the racoon that hangs there. But don't trust him - he steals everything (probably because he refuses to pay to play a round hineself). He took one of my golf balls right out of the cart. The house has very minimal snacks and drinks. It was quite lack luster and I expected way better from a course like this, especially since no cart girl comes around. Restuarant: They do have a restaurant on site that is quite large. We just got a snack there but the service was very awkward! Overall I'd return to this course because it's just gorgeous but I'd plan a little better as everything is so far apart and snacks/drinks are quite limited on the course. I can only assume the member side has more to offer.

This is one of Houston's better public courses although pricey. I have only played the Tournament…read more(non-member) course. The layout is fun and challenging, not easy but not overly difficult. The conditions were perfect from tee to green. The carts are comfortable and speedy with 2 USB outlets. The beverage cart came by often and the halfway house had everything you need at the turn. Clubhouse is very nice too, but we didn't eat at the restaurant.

The course was recently rehabilitated and has better fairways, landscaping, and maintenance than in previous years. The layout is challenging without being too difficult for weekend golfers. The greens are fast but not bumpy and the fairways are in good condition. The length can vary from PGA yardage to average via four tee placements. Staff and other golfers are very nice. Slow groups let others play through. Green fees are very reasonable and the cart fleet was recently replaced with new gas powered Club Car carts. There is not much elevation change throughout the course, but other challenges make it interesting. The greens are large but sculpted to test your ability to read breaks. Sand traps and water hazards are located throughout the course in strategic locations. There are some homes along the course, but they are located far enough away from the fairways and on large forested lots so as not to encroach on the natural beauty of the area. The clubhouse has a full breakfast and lunch menu, a large screen tv, and nice furniture. Overall a very pleasant golfing experience.
