The clubhouse was nice. I loved the white and black decor. The cart rental was $27. Meh. My husband walked the front 9 and had over 12,000 steps so you can tell, the holes are pretty spaced out. When going with a little kid, having a cart wasn't terrible so we weren't trailing behind so much. Driving range and chipping and putting green were open and in good condition. Loved that they were RIGHT THERE and not a hike away. The course itself was pretty nice. The fairways and greens were well taken care of. Some of the cart paths could use some work, they're broken and cracked. Some reader weren't sure if they were marked out of bounds or not. We'd see a red stake but no other stake... so is it out or not??? Bunkers were not ranked and hard as a rock. Of course the bunker our kid hit into didn't have a rack available since we were able to pick it up, rake and drop. (Ugh) There were workers draining some bunkers that had turned to swimming pools. The front 9 were a bit challenging to our 8 year old. He took a 50 but had some sh*t shots. My husband wants to come back and play all 18. So we'll definitely be back! 5-star for being just plain unique and a fun experience.

He was grateful to charge a small amount so we could hit some balls. They let us use a cart so we did not to walk . It was a great time using the range and give my friend to exercises. We only saw the cart girl once during our round. Golf carts were old and beat up with no coolers. I was given a bag of ice to keep my drinks cold. Alex was in the process of shop and was very helpful. The food and drinks are priced fairly, and were served expeditiously. Overall experience was ok, but course could have been in much better shape. I wanted to take a shower after my round, but there is no locker room with facilities on site.

A very odd course layout, jaw dropping fast greens, none traditional course design, all makes this stand out as fighter jet ride that ends in a club house that has a bigger personality than Elvis and Vegas. Off you go on a par 5 that dog legs left then right. And if you ever make it to the green, u get a marble on ice experience that is sure to leave you wonder about the rest of the 17 holes. But a much needed break comes quickly as the 4th hole is a movie legend with a plaque to celebrate it's uniqueness. This stands on it's own like the TPC Sawgrass #17 or Amen Corner at Augusta. With a bit of imagination, and a challenge of the "going for it" movie theme from your friends, this is like top golf, except not fake like a Treasures employee. The rest of the course is the same beautiful surroundings, Ferrari fast greens, trees to bat down your shots with a higher percentage than Mutumbo, and breath taking views to sooth the ever building depression. That being said, the value cannot be matched - even from most municipal courses. A round plus cart is only going to cost you around $30 and that price is even lower on the week days and in the afternoon. One of the other pluses is that you will have no problem booking a tee time basically whenever you desire. Typically, there are only a handful of golfers at the course even on a Saturday. The negatives are that this is a very no frills golf course. Many times there are large patches of dirt in the fairways and when you do find grass - it is essentially of the quality you would find in your back yard. The greens are particularly slow. I'm not sure what type of grass they use, but it might just be the same used in the fairway cut shorter - very strange. I know that they have been restricted on the amount of water they used due to the drought conditions. That could be a contributing factor. Even with these negatives, I do like coming out here regularly. I can afford to play this course frequently and you will rarely have a group behind you "breathing down your neck" because the tee times are so close together.

It was just right after 5 when we signed in and asked if we could play 18. We were specifically told no, that we couldn't play 18 and that all of the carts needed to be in by 730. We are not from the area and came to play at chambers county because it is a family tradition when we come out to my grandmothers. The lady at the front desk was immediately combative when we asked to play 18 and said that we couldn't play because they wanted to go home. Keep in mind it is the middle of June in texas and is 95+ degrees outside until 5pm. Sunset is not until 830. We tried to play 18 and were told we could not. We got done with our 9 holes in an hour and a half and wanted to see what we could get in before the sun finally set. THEY WOULD NOT LET US CONTINUE REGARDLESS OF PAYING FOR THE ADDITIONAL 9 holes. Complete unprofessionalism and a lack of courtesy for the individuals who come from out of county to play at a subpar dry and slow course. The combative club staff illustrates an inconsiderate and unprofessional environment that is repulsive and crude. I am very disappointed in the service. It's hot, the course is what it is but the club staff is the reason I will not be returning and I am greatly saddened because a once great track with great memories has been ruined by a very nasty and unprofessional woman.

It was the final chance for someone to qualify for the Masters the following week (by winning the Houston Open). In 2019, for the first time in its entire 73-year history (at the time), the tournament moved to the PGA Tour's fall schedule. However, funny enough, due to the COVID-19 pandemic which forced the Masters to make an unprecedented move to November 2020, the Houston Open once again found itself as the tournament immediately preceding the Masters. This year, the tournament was sponsored by Vivint and was played at Memorial Park Golf Course, one of Texas' highest-rated munis and located within Houston city limits. From 2003-2019, the Houston Open was held at the Golf Club of Houston in Humble, a suburb north of the city. Carlos Ortiz of Mexico won this year's Houston Open by two strokes (-13) over big names such as Hideki Matsuyama (-11), Dustin Johnson (-11), and Brooks Koepka (-8). A friend and I went to the Houston open at the Memorial Park golf course on Sunday for the final…read moreday. He and I have gone to Previous Houston opens at the previous venues, and Sunday stood out as one of the best times all around on every point. First of all for some reason there weren't as many spectators as we expected, we had a great view I never felt too crowded, except of course on the final hole with the final group. And to be honest it wasn't that crowded we had a great time overall. We sampled several of the food offerings and the breakfast sandwiches was our least favorite maybe because they sat a little longer than they should've and we were a little later than we should've been. I actually after seeing my buddies sandwich I opted for the yogurt... and I only eat yogurt when I'm not feeling well or I have to. A little later we actually got breakfast tacos and they were a little cold and I'll just leave it at that, like I said we were late to show up. And the standouts were the brisket tacos and the pulled pork nachos, one suggestion on the nachos upgrade the nacho cheese next time, the only part we found a little lacking. The Brisket and the Pulled Point or on point and tasty! Now to the important part of the day, the adult beverages!!!! I'm gonna say about the price is that it was just like any other sports venue, they get a little greedy when they start selling their alcohol. The morning bloody Mary's were excellent and the people they had serving them were fun, happy to be there and knew how to make a great drink!!! And they were a great day to kick off the day on the course. The stand out At the bar had to be the birdie beers I believe at the 15th, a part three with Stadium stealing around so we were all close enough to heckle and tear on the caddies during the Caddy race.... If you don't know what those are they're really fun, especially with a loud crowd full of adult beverages. They could've started them earlier and had him run later. The course was an excellent condition and the amenities were ample, clean and easy to find. My buddy and I are gonna get over to Memorial Park and play around before the conditions go back to normal public play. The fairways look like the greens that he and I mostly play on. And they finished it up at 3:00 just as they planned which was excellent planning on the planners. Every house we ran into on the course was always helpful and had a smile on their face it's just helps the day move by so much smoother I am sure that we will be back next year, and maybe show up on time.
