Short Version Talent +…read moreSeating - Originality - Productions - Environment - Although they have some phenomenal actors, talent only goes so far. The seating is lacking, uncomfortable, and has no real accomodations for the handicapable. Their productions are often ripoff of old 80s films with unclever title and character name changes. Music is canned, audio is hit or miss, lighting leaves a lot to be desired, badly timed changes and intermissions, overall feels almost High School Drama Quality. Not worth admission fees. The environment... It smells reminiscent of old sweaty gym socks, the building design is confusing and inconvenient, the seating area looks almost like it was once a pool or gym or something, the stage is tiny, it feels as if everything about this place is a hand me down after thought that reaks of B.O. As a patron of the arts and retired performer/director, I love supporting local theatre, thankfully there are other options in this town. Sorry the review is negative, I hate writing bad reviews. Hopefully you can use this as constructive criticism and work on it. I always give multiple chances and hopefully I can edit this in the future as a 5 star.

Talent + Seating +…read moreOriginality + Production + Environment + Talent in spades, it never ceases to amaze me how much talent is hidden in this Northern California gem. Seating is cozy, comfy, tiered, and has plenty of accessible seating for the other abled. They do so much with such a small area it's commendable. Originality, not only do they put on some of the best classics, masterfully converted to a smaller setting, but plenty of original ideas as well. Production is fantastic! Lighting, stage, set, even the canned music and audio are fantastic, I did experience some technical difficulties during one showing, but the actors and stagehands handled it gracefully. Environment, the atmosphere is professional yet casual enough that you can enjoy it without feeling you require a black tie. Perfect for dates, as even with the smaller tables in the middle section, they have "candlelight", the lounge is always a great place to be, plenty of snacks, even baked goods, and cocktails to die for. The staff are always pleasant, I couldn't be happier. Update: there was a bit of a fire and they're currently using the historic Cascade Theatre for shows for now. The seating there is a bit outdated but absolutely worth it to enjoy the finest the Axiom has to offer.

The environment is intimate and comfortable with a nice space during intermission. Beer, wine, other drinks, and snacks are available. I loved having a little bistro table during the performance to enjoy my wine. I believe you can also rent the bar/dining room area for events. Last time I checked, I heard they also have connections with good caters. Kinda like a plug and play event space - awesome! I love seeing local talent in action!

I was searching for things to do in the area while visiting family, traveling I'n from San Francisco, and found great reviews! This is are second year traveling up! I'm definitely a hard person to thrill, having been a long time haunted house imagineer, and have help and built themes for over 10 years, I'm well know for haunts. The greatest thing about dreams of darkness haunt is the emotional experience and how well your drawn in by your imagination. They pull it off epic! It also is in fact for me the longest haunt I've ever visited! The art and creativity was amazing and far beyond anything I would have expected! This year was just as spectacular as last and you cast and volunteers awesome! This will be a tradition for us for many years to come. Please please please do not miss this haunt! Thank you from Harry, rachel, Jenna, and Mikki from the bayarea ca!!!

Who knew Redding would harbor such a bad-ass, haunted...well, I can't say house; so, let's just go…read morewith experience. The haunt starts off above ground, in what looks like an abandoned town, where you are lined up and queued to get in. It's a bit of a wait on the weekends, but once you're in, it moves quiet smoothly. Slowly, it seems you move underground; at least it looks this way, through caves, creepy tunnels and even a spinning vortex. I can't even begin to count how many different rooms we ventured through, or how many characters there were along the way to scare us. The attention to detail was phenomenal! The best part is, the attraction seemed to last a good 45 minutes! Maybe I'm exaggerating, or don't remember correctly, because it's been almost a year now, but you definitely feel like you get your moneys worth. After, your can head on over to the corn maze, where I believe you can be chased through the cornstalks by someone with a chainsaw, or other like scary characters. Unfortunately, we were late; so we missed out on that fin bit. But, the lady was nice enough to let us run through the maze in the dark for a little bit, like the little kids at heart we are. Now that I already know what to expect, I'll have to get my thrills this year by bringing my kids along, so I can watch the crap get scared out of them. Can't wait! *evil maniacal laugh*
