I went into this shop to get strings for my guitar. I'm huge on supporting local businesses for the personal touch. Going in there I felt like I was disturbing the employee by approaching her asking questions about their products. She had a beautiful name and was pleasant to speak with, but I wished she was a bit more proactive with her customer service in the store. I shop local so I don't use the giant online stores but I do expect a level of service. Anyhoo, I purchased a couple items and the other items I was going to purchase, I'm going to get elsewhere. I'd use the store again for little items just as a quick shop to drop into, but otherwise nah. read more

I took a guitar into Music Connection I bought on line, thought it was through them. I goofed. I bought it through a different com. I was so embarrassed. They called the other business and was able to get them to send me a receipt and they put me back on track. They are wonderful. And I appreciate them very much. read more

Couple of weeks before Christmas, we ordered some musician ear plugs for our son. Never heard anything. Called a week later and they said they had been there for a few days. My wife said the lady was "super rude" on the phone. She said they were super rude when she picked them up. I stopped in today to speak to someone about getting some tuning pegs for an acoustic guitar and I was astonished at how rudely a front line employee could treat customers. Absolutely pathetic customer service skills. Not only was the young lady exuding rudeness when she was dealing with me, but I watched her treat a different customer as rudely as she treated me. Absolutely bewildering. Wow. When I was on my way out, I stopped to look at a bulletin board for music instructors, and was quickly informed that that board was not for repair techs, like I lack the ability to read. She must be the owner or the owners kid, because she certainly acts like she owns the place. Oh well. I like driving; I'll drive to the next town, or county, or a neighboring state if I have to; in order to keep from going back in there. Wow. Go somewhere else. read more

I paid $3,000 out the door in March 2021 for a Martin OM-21, after a lifetime of Martins. Bernie, who founded the store, sold it to the current owners, and still works there, always let me put strings on at his bench. One of the new owners invited me in earlier this year, but wanted $10 to have the staff install the strings and wouldn't let me do it. When he found out who I was, he screamed at me that I was a piece of "....". Can't say I can recommend this spot. I don't think Yelp will let me leave a phone number or email or I would. read more

We came in with what we thought was a crazy request. We were on the road to Oregon to see the solar eclipse and did not have room in our car to travel with my daughter's cello. We stopped in here to ask if we could rent a cello for the day and have her use it in the store in a practice room. They set her up in a practice room with a rental cello and did not charge us for the rental since we were not leaving the store! It's nice to know that this music store is willing to go the extra mile to help out a musician! Great customer service. read more

This has pretty much become my go to music place. Bernie is the man. Took my Les Paul in that desperately needed attention (intonation, string height, truss rod adjustment, straplocks installed) I waited about a week which seemed reasonable as I'm sure I had several people ahead of me but it Played better than ever when I got it back. Was very reasonably priced just like the Blackstar 212 cab and ampeg 1X8 bass amp that I also purchased from here. Very happy with this place. Music Connection was formerly called Bernie's Guitar, at the same location, and Bernie is still there. I was in Redding waiting out a job delay, so I called MC to ask if they could file the nut on my new ukulele, and Bernie said come right down. He asked me to show him how I play, and then based on that, set my instrument up perfectly while I tried some basses and guitars. What a nice, knowledgeable, considerate guy. I checked this place out and I'm impressed. The owner can get things that are harder to find or are not available in the area. The assortment of instruments is impressive. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. If you're looking for lessons the owner knows a lot of people who can teach. Prices are reasonable.
