This place is a world class haunt! What's so amazing about this place is the attention to details, and the emotional experience! I was searching for things to do in the area while visiting family, traveling I'n from San Francisco, and found great reviews! This is are second year traveling up! The greatest thing about dreams of darkness haunt is the emotional experience and how well your drawn in by your imagination. They pull it off epic! Who knew Redding would harbor such a bad-ass, haunted...well, I can't say house; so, let's just go with experience. The haunt starts off above ground, in what looks like an abandoned town, where you are lined up and queued to get in. It's a bit of a wait on the weekends, but once you're in, it moves quiet smoothly. Slowly, it seems you move underground; at least it looks this way, through caves, creepy tunnels and even a spinning vortex. I can't even begin to count how many different rooms we ventured through, or how many characters there were along the way to scare us. The attention to detail was phenomenal! The best part is, the attraction seemed to last a good 45 minutes! Maybe I'm exaggerating, or don't remember correctly, because it's been almost a year now, but you definitely feel like you get your moneys worth. After, your can head on over to the corn maze, where I believe you can be chased through the cornstalks by someone with a chainsaw, or other like scary characters. Unfortunately, we were late; so we missed out on that fin bit. But, the lady was nice enough to let us run through the maze in the dark for a little bit, like the little kids at heart we are. Now that I already know what to expect, I'll have to get my thrills this year by bringing my kids along, so I can watch the crap get scared out of them. Can't wait! *evil maniacal laugh* read more

This is not just a haunted house, it's an experience. From beginning to end, you can see that a lot of work was put into this haunt year round. This is not a pop-up haunt with plastic black sheeting and cheesy props. It's completely legit. There was so much thought put into the details of every horror scene. I've been to plenty of haunts where you walk by horror scenes with different themes. At Dreams of Darkness, you are actually walking into the scenes like you're in a horror movie. All the scenes are fully furnished like a movie would be. While standing in line, waiting to enter, they have a horror film playing with strategically placed speakers. I can't believe this is in Redding!! Dreams of Darkness is truly terrifying. This is not your neighbors haunted house, there are no sheets of black plastic or corny props. It is by far the best Halloween experience in Redding. I was unsure at first being that the price is $15 but the 40 minute haunt was worth every penny. Every unorganized by the time you figure out the tickets are about done. And that's with purchasing them online. You show up with your printed ticket to stand in line to change it to another ticket to go stand in line to finally get started. The tour itself is made to scare at 10 year old and younger. SICK!!! Just went through the attraction, and can honestly say i want to pay another $15 to go through again! My group and i went through a slew of sensations while we crept around the ornately decorated rooms and halls. As a horror fanatic that doesnt scare easily, i had a few moments where i legit jumped out if my pants! OMG!!! If your looking for an awesome Haunted House in the Redding area.....THIS IS IT!!! The Dreams of Darkness haunted house is located at the Nash Ranch Pumpkin Patch. I went there with some friends and had an awesome time. I m usually disappointed with haunted houses but this really scared me and the details were incredible. The spinning tunnel blew my mind. This is a mind blowing horror experience !!!! It is scarier, then anything i have ever experienced. It's like i am living the scariest parts of all the scary movies i have ever seen in my life. The small little horror girl monster, The laughing clowns, The scary elevator, deadly cemetry dead men walking, and all this is not just a painting or projection on the wall, It is live people, props and a lot of visual effects well made and executed to perfection to scare the hell out of you. Rating of my experience on 10/21/17: I attend this haunted house every year and I can safely say I will NOT go back next year. While the haunted house was great as expected, the customer service ruined the entire experience. The three women working up front (two in the ticket booth and one named Kathy) are the reason I will never return to Nash. A woman named Kathy who was handing out pre-purchased tickets was so rude it blew my mind. The woman in front of me had previously exchanged tickets to come back on this particular night. When the employees could not find the ticket, they told, actually yelled at, her that she should be happy they were even trying to help her. The woman looked so shocked and embarrassed of the way she was being treated. The woman asked if she could just quickly pull her friends ahead of her out of line so they could have the experience together. Kathy responded in a yell: "Are you kidding me? No, you can't go up there. It's not like you won't be able to catch up with them later." Kathy huffed around yelling at people and made it clear she did not want to be there. The women selling tickets to enter the haunted house were equally as rude. Had we not just waited over an hour to get our tickets, we definitely would have walked away. Instead, we remained in line for another hour. During this time we got to hear Kathy's loud and sour attitude be shared with the masses. The employees had many loud and rude remarks to make to the paying customers. On a more positive note, the woman (dark, curly hair) working at the entrance to the haunted house where you can write on the walls was extremely friendly. She welcomed us with a smile, told us what had been added to the attraction, and really tried to get us excited to go in. I wish I would have caught her name. That is the employee you want, she was awesome! read more

This is the most scared i have been in a long time going through a haunted house. I cannot believe it is in redding...it is HOLLYWOOD QUALITY! They have real live people, not props and you feel like you are in a rated R horror movie with all the chainsaws being wielded at you. There are over 10 rooms and you are always feeling suspenseful because you do not know whats next..i can't wait to go again this year to see the new stuff that they added. Dreams Of Darkness is truly the scariest haunted house i have been in. WELL worth 15 dollars. You definitely want to take someone...you wouldn't want to go alone.. 5 stars for this excellent haunting experience. read more
