I called and asked if I could come in and get stitched up from a gash I received on my wrist at work. They told me come on in, the staff were very polite and professional. The doctor cleaned the wound, stitched me up and I was out the door back to work. Very professional, highly recommended!

Come in for a serious medical issue? Maybe a lil plastic surgery will lift your spirits!

DO NOT GO HERE I was a new patient and my insurance brought me here. Would give no stars if possible. When I arrived, the clerk at the front desk and the nurse were very kind but the physician was terrible. She was late and when she came in she did not want to hear a word from me. I had an ear infection in my right ear a couple weeks ago and today I came in with an infection in my left ear. The physician tried to prescribe me the same ear drops I had treated the right ear with even though I told her they did not work on the left. I had tried them for three days before coming into urgent care because I can't afford to be here twice in one month! I had to force this physician to listen to me and could feel tension building between us. She did not want to help me at all and I was the first patient of the day. That says a lot! At the end of my visit, the front desk claimed to not know the last name of the physician who saw me which is a bit unsettling. All they would tell me is that her name is Christina V. I left not knowing what is wrong with my ear and with a prescription for two more eardrops they want me to try. I'm an insured paying customer and this visit was not worth the $110 "copay" at all. I am SO tired of the health "care" we have to deal with in Los Angeles! Before anyone jumps to the conclusion that I am solely relying on urgent care, please know that I had an appointment to see an ENT before this visit but due to unforseen circumstances I had to bring myself here once again. Bonus picture of an ad which they have all over the office. It was a red flag that I unfortunately couldn't afford to avoid because of the pain I'm enduring, and I am expected back at work today.

Wasn't even closed yet, but they denied my daughter service

Please avoid this location, though. My first visit years ago was unremarkable, but a recent visit in early August was a nightmare. First, the nurse checking me in insisted I could only be seen for one symptom, and her manner brought me to tears. I was experiencing about seven symptoms over 10 days. She was extremely rude, and then noted that my heart rate was high -- yes, because she was stressing me out with her unprofessional attitude. I've never encountered an urgent care that insists on treating only one symptom. I asked her to listen to all seven and then decide which was most urgent to document. It later turned out I was having an allergic reaction to an antibiotic -- I had noted a rash as one of my symptoms. I saw Dr. Hanser, who described my rash as looking like "sun exposure" but said he suspected an allergic reaction. He had me tested for viruses. He did not land on considering it an allergic reaction nor treat me for that. Later that day, the rash spread across my entire body, and I had to go to a different urgent care the next day to get steroids. The difference in quality of care I received at the Westminster MemorialCare location was like night and day. The nurse listened to my situation and noted that as cause of visit. The doctor showed true concern and empathy. Given how dismissive both the nurse and the doctor were here, in their own ways--please avoid this Bellflower location.

You hand them your ID and health insurance card... and the rest is done on your phone.. so easy!!! I don't feel the wait was very long, especially for a weekend at an urgent care. I was seen rather quickly and my entire visit, including X-rays, results, medications and paperwork was just over an hour. I think I take longer at my regular doctor sometimes!!! Everyone was professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The doctor explained everything to me, they gave me some shots to get thru the day... and I think this was an amazing experience! Unfortunately, 2 days after visiting, my experience left me frustrated and scratching my head. My main complaint is I was prescribed fluoroquinolone antibiotics (Cipro) for a sting ray sting, without any mention about the well documented risks associated with lasting tendon rupture and collagen matrix disruption. It was only once I'd done my research that I had to call to see if we can switch. One of the PA's (Paula, also exceptional) took my call and even said she was glad that I caught that and did not understand why I was prescribed Cipro when there are much safer alternatives out there. When I had gone in, I was also given a steroid shot to help with inflammation and left in the room for some time. I started to get quite nauseous and felt close to fainting. I had to step outside and call for someone, just to be told "yeah this happens often, forgot to warn you" and "you beat me to checking in on you." What's worse is I came to find out combining fluoroquinolones with corticosteroids (steroid shots) have been documented to a FOURTEEN (14!) FOLD increased risk of tendinopathy and tendon rupture (D. Baggio, M.R. Andana-Rajah, 2021). Why on earth would you combine a fluoroquinolone and corticosteroids? If there are safer antibiotics, why fluoroquinolone alone? The whole experience just feels medically untrained or professionally careless. I'm completely bewildered, and quite frustrated.

Health care has truly become a scam…read more I brought my 11-year-old son in after he injured his ankle at school. The school nurse suspected a possible sprain or fracture, so I went straight to this urgent care hoping they could quickly assess him and take an X-ray if needed. While the front desk was initially polite and accommodating, they refused to see my son unless I paid $200 upfront toward his deductible. The problem is they had no idea what level of care he would actually need. No exam had been done, no imaging ordered, and no services had been determined. It could have been a simple assessment or something more serious. When I asked them to bill my insurance and send me a bill after the claim was processed, they refused. They insisted payment MUST be made before a provider would even evaluate him. In other words, they were denying care to a child with an acute injury unless I FORCIBLY paid an arbitrary amount upfront for services they themselves could not yet define. I have excellent PPO insurance and have never experienced anything like this. Urgent care facilities bill insurance and reconcile the deductible after the claim is processed. Because of this policy, we had to leave and seek care elsewhere while my son was in pain. I will be filing formal complaints with the following agencies against their unlawful practice: * California Department of Managed Health Care * California Department of Insurance * California Attorney General's Office (Consumer Protection) * California Department of Consumer Affairs Patients should know what to expect before coming here. If you are not prepared to pay an ESTIMATED deductible upfront, you WILL be DENIED CARE before a provider even evaluates you.

Predatory practices! BEWARE!…read more I am hyper-vigilant about medical companies asking for more information from patients than needed especially since they always have breeches. (By the way, I have worked in the healthcare industry for the past 24 years). Well I just went in on a Sunday morning and for a minor issue and filled out all of their information online (I've been to this location before with no issues) and everything was fine until the receptionist asked me for my credit card information to "keep on file". Listen: I have full health insurance and I'm NOT leaving a credit card on file with all the healthcare fraud! She claimed it was because it's on a "Sunday and their system doesn't work on Sunday". What about people in the community that don't have credit cards, but have health insurance? I told them I'm happy to pay my out of pocket as normal but they said they must have a credit card and handed me a slip of paper with their policy. I left without service. I will definitely be placing a formal complaint. And yes, I have many credit cards but I'll be damned if I leave one "on file" when I have medical insurance. By the way - I went to ContinuEM Urgent care on Palo Verde and South and got excellent service! No credit card needed and the doctor was super professional and thorough. It was an actual blessing that Excer didn't work out.

To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report a…read moreseries of severe safety, security, and communication failures that occurred during my stay in Room 103 on the night of July 13th. This experience has completely shattered my sense of security, leaving me feeling entirely vulnerable and unable to sleep. Below is a detailed account of the incident and the systemic failures that followed: Incident Details & Failures Failure #1: Unauthorized Room Entry and False Representation At approximately 11:00 PM on July 13th, an unknown male wearing a yellow smock over scrubs and a face mask entered my room. When I asked who he was, he insisted he was my night nurse. I knew this was incorrect as both of my assigned nurses were female. Despite me telling him to leave, he insisted a second time that he was my nurse. Only after he looked at the whiteboard and saw my actual nurses' names did he say, "Oh, I made a mistake, I'm sorry." He then approached my bed to apologize again. When I asked for his name, he identified himself as A**ad before finally leaving. The shift change was at 7pm. How did he think I was his patient at 11pm? Make it make sense. Failure #2: Complete Lack of Response to Emergency Call Button While this unauthorized man was still in my room, I hit my call button, alerted the operator that a strange man was in my room, and begged her to send help. She promised to send someone, but no one ever came. After the man left, I called a second time. Again, the operator promised to send someone. Again, no one came. Failure #3: Delayed Escalation and Negligence I was forced to hit the call button a third time. The operator informed me that my night nurse, Gina, was back from her break but was on the phone. Out of sheer desperation and fear, I had to threaten to rip the IV out of my hand and walk down to the nurses' station myself just to get someone to take my safety seriously. I also called Security twice to file a report and no one came out to talk to me as of 1:37am. Context of Vulnerability I want to emphasize how incredibly vulnerable I was during this intrusion. I have an IV attached to my left hand and was actively prepping for a colonoscopy the next morning. I had just gotten off the toilet when this man entered. Because of my medical equipment and prep, I was physically unable to run or defend myself. Post-Incident Actions taken Once G**a was alerted, she immediately came to my room, listened to my account, and brought in her nurse manager. Because the Patient Business Office was closed, I left them a voicemail. I also personally contacted Hospital Security to file a formal report. Recognition of Exemplary Staff Despite the systemic failure of the hospital's security and communication systems, I want to formally recognize my care team. Gina has been incredibly helpful, efficient, empathetic, and deeply remorseful about what happened to me. A***a has also been exceptionally sweet, professional, and attentive to all of my needs. They are the only reason I feel any modicum of care here. Request for Action This was a terrifying security breach. A random staff member or intruder was allowed to falsely represent himself, approach my bed, and ignore my demands to leave, while the emergency call system completely failed to protect me. I expect a formal investigation into: Why "Ah**d" was in my room and why he insisted he was my nurse. Why the call button operator failed to dispatch immediate security or staff assistance during an active security threat. What steps are being taken to ensure my safety for the remainder of my stay. I look forward to your prompt response.
