So, let me tell you a little story about a young man (me), and how a webpage changed my life…read more Having grown up in a spiritual household that always believed in a higher power, yet never attend church. I happened upon a time recently, that I was faced with a serious illness in my family I turned for answers and comfort and realized something in my life was missing. I explored the Internet looking for answers that I thought would be at the end of my search string, that would explain why our family crisis was happening. No eval... so then while searching through my Facebook feed advertising came up for Bay Area Community Church. I thought what could it hurt, and opened the page. At some point, while viewing the page I decided to see what the church was all about by attending an outline version of their church service via Facebook. Fast forward to that Sunday, as the music started on the online service I was introduced to Jonathan Madrid and the band that played music that was so refreshing and current. I found myself beginning to relax and enjoy the vibe of the worship. The music stopped when a guy showed up on stage that I could relate to, he had a five o'clock shadow and was wearing jeans and a t-shirt. He began to preach and I could relate to everything he said. At that point, Pat Linnell changed my life. I became emotional and really could not understand what was happening to me, but it was AWESOME. Over the next few weeks, Pat preached about topics that really opened my eyes about the Lord. I quickly ran out and purchased a Bible and began reading several chapters a day with a goal of completing the entire Bible in a year. I am like a sponge, just soaking up everything. After several weeks I was finally introduced (via the online service) to Greg St. Cyr had just returned from taking some time off. He also finds a way to explain the "why" of the Bible and "how" we should live. He to me is like a father figure that you can look up to for advice and a shoulder to cry on. I have not missed an online service since, soon I will make my way over to the main campus for a live service. My advice to anyone that is not sure that BACC is right for you is to give them a shot online and watch a few services and make your decision. Greg, Pat, and Jonathan have given me the best Grace Bomb one can give, they have introduced me to Jesus. Thank you BACC.

I visited several churches when I moved to Annapolis, but Eastport UMC was the most open and…read morewelcoming. It is located right down in a vibrant area of the city. The church is very active in the community. It hosts monthly community food pantries (as a distribution point for AA County Food Bank) and community forums on various topics of interest. There is a sunrise service on Easter out at Thomas Point Park, right on the water. EUMC hosted the Annapolis Jazz & Roots Festival last fall. This summer, there has been weekly free yoga on the lawn. This church is a progressive, welcoming place where people of all backgrounds, races, and gender identities are gathering together as an active and encouraging congregation.

I love my foundation, but was always open to explore other options for me. The first time I ever went to CCF was almost a decade ago for a quinceanera and I thought that was awesome for them to be this diverse. I started to come on Sundays and have gone off and on (between college and moving away for grad school) for years. There's a 9:00 and 11:00 service, but I often attend 9:00. We're out by 10:20ish so I still have my whole Sunday (which is the polar opposite of my upbringing). I've seen the church go through renovations and remember when we had service in the gym. This church has something for everyone and brought out a side of me I didn't know I had. From home study groups to addiction ministry to coffee ministry to quiet rooms to special needs services. Their childrens/teen/young adult ministries are active and this church has a strong generational future. I am even a missionary and attended the trip to the Navajo Nation twice. CCF changed my life forever and I hope to see you at our church after you read this. When I can't make it one Sunday, we have an APP and live stream 11:00 services online. I even pay my tithes and offerings through the app- a big plus for this millennial.

The gentleman who led the tour was very knowledgeable and humorous. This church has been at the center of Annapolis history for several centuries. It is a beautiful spot to begin your walking tour of the historic area, and then you can move on to the State House. Don't miss the two Tiffany windows. Well worth a stop.

Large, popular church in Annapolis that is convenient to the mall, the hospital and downtown…read more I would estimate this church could hold a thousand people. We were there for a Saturday mass (they have two, 4:30 and 6:30) and the mass was packed. I'd estimate about 800 worshippers. The interior of the church is very beautiful and done in a modern style. Has soaring ceilings and lots of stained glass. The mass itself was traditional. One thing that struck me as odd was that there were no acolytes, only the priest and a reader. Although there is plenty of parking, the sheer number of worshipers means that it's going to be difficult to leave the parking lot and get back out onto bestgate road. Music was good. Communion was carried out under both species.

The welcome is friendly with a homely feel, everyone tries to know everyone name. The church embraces a welcome to all and is very inclusive for a church.
