I have found a Church home and Family at CCF. You can feel the love from the minute you pull into the parking lot.

So, let me tell you a little story about a young man (me), and how a webpage changed my life…read more Having grown up in a spiritual household that always believed in a higher power, yet never attend church. I happened upon a time recently, that I was faced with a serious illness in my family I turned for answers and comfort and realized something in my life was missing. I explored the Internet looking for answers that I thought would be at the end of my search string, that would explain why our family crisis was happening. No eval... so then while searching through my Facebook feed advertising came up for Bay Area Community Church. I thought what could it hurt, and opened the page. At some point, while viewing the page I decided to see what the church was all about by attending an outline version of their church service via Facebook. Fast forward to that Sunday, as the music started on the online service I was introduced to Jonathan Madrid and the band that played music that was so refreshing and current. I found myself beginning to relax and enjoy the vibe of the worship. The music stopped when a guy showed up on stage that I could relate to, he had a five o'clock shadow and was wearing jeans and a t-shirt. He began to preach and I could relate to everything he said. At that point, Pat Linnell changed my life. I became emotional and really could not understand what was happening to me, but it was AWESOME. Over the next few weeks, Pat preached about topics that really opened my eyes about the Lord. I quickly ran out and purchased a Bible and began reading several chapters a day with a goal of completing the entire Bible in a year. I am like a sponge, just soaking up everything. After several weeks I was finally introduced (via the online service) to Greg St. Cyr had just returned from taking some time off. He also finds a way to explain the "why" of the Bible and "how" we should live. He to me is like a father figure that you can look up to for advice and a shoulder to cry on. I have not missed an online service since, soon I will make my way over to the main campus for a live service. My advice to anyone that is not sure that BACC is right for you is to give them a shot online and watch a few services and make your decision. Greg, Pat, and Jonathan have given me the best Grace Bomb one can give, they have introduced me to Jesus. Thank you BACC.

I've left messages and spoke with someone who never called me back. I spent several years of my life with church, which felt like a second home to me for a time period of my youth and have many memories here. I was in the children's choir and I completed by confirmation here. Large portions of my parents' (who have since passed away) photo albums are made up of photos from services and Christmas plays at THIS church. So it's hurtful to me that they now are ignoring me and refuse to even tell me that they can't locate the information, if that's the case. This doesn't feel like the Methodist church I remember. I'm sorry for whatever reason that you are choosing to do this. It's not a very nice way to treat past members. The reason we are "past" members is because we moved when my mom was diagnosed with cancer and I moved to FL after she passed away. Also, several years ago (2009), when my husband and I got engaged my first thought was to travel back to Maryland and have our wedding at St. Andrews but when I called them to discuss it, I was actually met with "I don't remember you" by the pastor. Extremely hurt, I just hung up the phone. I mean, of course you might not remember someone who was a pre-teen when they went here and is now an adult wanting to get married in the church that was close to their heart? I didn't know that wasn't allowed or unheard of. Is it? This has crossed my mind many times over the years and I've just never had an appropriate occasion to write about it until now. All this to say, I'm a little hurt by this church and I'm actually actively trying to find a new church again here in FL that is actually welcoming and loving.

It is going to be sad to see Pastor Dave leave the church. It is also sad to see Maria leaving due…read moreto her illness. But this church is probably one of the best churches I have ever been to. I love it and will continue to keep coming back for as long as I live in Maryland.
