After going to two masses at St. Pius X church, I quickly realized that this church had made a home for me. The congregation is kind and devoted. Their programs and ministries are more output for regular churchgoers. I felt very inclusive of their purpose. I want to highlight the structure of their homily. They divided the messages into a "series" and bind it with the gospel readings fluidly. The result is well-crafted messages that speak to your heart very well! The greeters are very welcoming and they also offer kids ministry call led SLAM. Recommended for kids ages 4-10. And i also recommend checking out the live stream of mass every Saturday at 5:30 pm in YouTube flat form. Just search 'St.Puis X Catholic Church'.

I was affiliated with this church since 2005 because my children attended school there from K-8th but because it lacked diversity I practiced my faith at a different church. Well that has CHANGED. St. Pius X is now a multicultural place of worship and you get the spiritual nourishment that you need especially through the message series, small groups and numerous ministries that one can and should join. You feel welcomed on arrival because you are welcome. I am now a proud member of St. Pius X for the past 2 years and I'm loving the direction that the Catholic church and St. Pius X is heading.

I find the people in the congregation very friendly, I find their events very friendly and I find the entire focus of the parish to be on the people, having fun and of course on creating/keeping a personal relationship with God. I do not get there very often because I live in downtown DC - but every time I go, I like it more. The priest is very friendly and easy to talk to. He speaks about the Bible in normal terms, using language that is immediately understandable. The events are full of people - normal people who are interested in getting to know new people. There is no stand-offish-ness here that I experienced. I volunteered for one of the Greek Fest dinners and I was taken in with open arms. This past weekend, I went to a craft fair in the hall and I found more of the same. Friendliness, big crowds and the realization that the church community lives in contemporary times, with busy people who have busy schedules and who have lives in a diverse world. I really am happy that I found this church. I look forward to moving out to this area in the next year or so - I will become a regular parishoner at Sts. Constantine & Helen once I live nearby!

The people in the church were so warm and welcoming. The Father came by and personally sought out the organizers to thank them for their efforts on behalf of the children. I could see the emotion on everyone's face. It was great to work with people who cared about our cause as much as we did.

There's an active and energized kids department, with proactive leaders, teaching the love and principles of Jesus. The 50+ group has fantastic leaders that keep the group extremely active throughout the entire year. Plus there's numerous ministries in between the kids and seniors. If you want to get involved, there's plenty of opportunities to serve and support. But if you need a place heal and rest, just to soak in the presence of God and hear about His love and the gift of salvation through Jesus, you can do that too. I found HCC to be a welcoming, Bible based, church that teaches and stands on the word of God. I'm so glad God brought me back to HCC.

I reached out to the church took them 3 days to get back with me. The preacher said one little prayer on the phone. No one offered to come and see him at the hospital. After I thought I had found a home church. I even told them he was in intensive care and serious condition. And no one cared.. My husband passed away. And I did not feel comfortable with getting this Pastor to do his services. After no one reached out to even check on us to see how things were going. I had to go to a different church and get a different Pastor to do my husband's funeral services. I was so lucky to have found a pastor that really cared. He didn't even know me. But he was more caring and considerate than this Pastor of Heritage community church. It's so sad after being there for 2 1/2 to 3 years. My heart is broken. It's so sad that no one has even reached out to me from my first talk with the pastor. He never reached back out to see how my husband was doing. Even though they knew he was in intensive care and getting worse. No one called to ask how I was either. Very inconsiderate and selfish people. I would give them no stars if I could. Oh, when you go there, they act all nice and wonderful and like they're a loving church. But when you need them and you're suffering and you're in pain. No one shows up. If I hadn't been a Christian for a long time. This would be the kind of thing that would make someone turn against the church forever and against God. But I know better because I know there's other pastors out there and other churches that are out there that really do care. But this one is about the Almighty buck I think. It's a BIG church because Jesus said, "where I am lifted I will draw." The point being that as long as the Pastor is teaching us the word, pointing us to God and making sure we know the word for ourselves, this is the place to be. There is transparency with everything that is done in this church, and Pastor John Cherry, II has the same integrity that his father had when he was the pastor.
