My insurance provided me a list of chiropractors in the area. I visit one of their offices to schedule an appointment as a new patient. The front desk lady Crystal was courteous and friendly. I requested that she notify me if there were any early cancellations, as I live in close proximity to the office. While I was completing the necessary paperwork and providing my insurance information, Crystal informed me that I was fortunate. She had spoken with Dr. Bryson, who was willing to see me immediately if I had time available. Dr. Bryson made me feel at ease and provided a thorough explanation of my lower back discomfort. He performed an adjustment and alignment, which alleviated my pain somewhat. On my subsequent visits, Crystal and Dr. Bryson warmly welcomed me by name. The entire staff, including the patients, were friendly. Despite the office being busy, Dr. Bryson was familiar with each patient. I want to thank Dr. Bryson, Crystal and staff for an exceptional service. I will definitely recommend this office. read more

It's funny how all the times I came in on time but had to wait to be seen, they have even apologized for the wait. One time they were 15 minutes late bringing me in the back so should I say out loud they were 15 minutes late?! the intimidated manager backed her by saying they have to tell people when they're late, so maybe I should do the same when they're taking me in back late. I asked the girl has she ever been late and she said no, I'm sure. Anyway, I'm there for a reason, my job. She should be a patient there just for her personality. read more

I've gone to Dr Mike Pezza from Redefine Healthcare for years after he sold his Chiropractic & Therapy business that was called Compass. I saw him in Bayonne NJ, J City NJ, & Union NJ. He & his staff are very accommodating & I've left multiple reviews saying that. But in the last 2 weeks trying to make an appt in their Union Nj office again, I keep getting this woman Amica who says she's a Virtual Assistant. After multiple attempts on my 1st call, she still couldn't locate me in her system, even though I told her I've been seeing Dr Pezza for years. She eventually transferred me to a live person. I complained to this person that Amica was absolutely terrible at what she does. The woman said she would forward my complaint & said she would have someone call me back regarding my trying to schedule an appt with Dr Pezza at their Union NJ office. Never got a call back. Tried again a week later & got Amica again. Asked her right off the bat to transfer me to another person. All I got was a recording saying that no one can answer my call at this time & told me to leave a message, which I did. Again, no call back. I'm disgusted with how Redefine thinks that their system of scheduling an appt is working. Since I can't get through directly with Dr Pezza, I'm going to search around for a Chiropractor in Bayonne NJ where I live. All I have to say is that Redefine is going to lose a lot of business including past patients because we can't get through their stupid so called Virtual Assistant. read more

Things started off great with Dr. Grace at Redefine Healthcare. He looked over my MRIs. Told me he knows exactly what's causing my pain, why the previous pain management doctor I was seeing was wrong and why their treatments didn't help, and why his would. His confidence had me feeling relieved and hopeful that after almost a year of debilitating chronic pain I would finally get some relief. Cut to a few months later when his treatments haven't provided any relief, he tells me that I'm wrong and that treatment should have solved my pain issue. During this visit he just kept asking me different version of "what percent of relief did you notice" "on a scale of 1-10 how much pain relief did you experience from the procedure" in an attempt to get me to tell him his procedure helped when it hadn't. During this same visit I asked about renewing my handicapped placard while we continue to pinpoint and treat my pain and he tells me he doesn't want to because he has no proof that I'm actually in pain. Eventually he reluctantly angres agrees to sign off on it, takes the paperwork and leaves. Then a few minutes later a nurse comes in and gives me the paperwork back and tells me "yeah so, Dr. Grace didn't sign off on the renewal because he doesn't think you need it." I ask if I can talk to him again and she tells me I can't because he's already with another patient. I ended up leaving his office in tears, thinking that I'm never going to find any relief for my ongoing chronic pain. This was obviously my last visit with Dr. Grace. To top it all off, about 6 months after my last appointment with Dr. Grace, in early December I get a call from his office telling me that because of my reported issues (which again, Dr Grace doesn't believe I have) Dr. Grace thinks I would be a great candidate for a custom fitted support brace that is guaranteed to help with my issue and would be 100% covered by insurance, but would only be available till the end of December. So, he won't sign off on a handicap placard renewal because he "has no proof that on I'm pain," but is totally willing to send an undoubtedly fat bill to my insurance company to get some extra cash at the end of the year. All in all Dr. Grace is a classic case of "well if I can't treat it, you must be making it up because I can't be wrong." Cockiness that plagues the medical field today, with a touch of "my goal is to make money not help people." I'm sure he has successfully treated people with their chronic pain before, but in my case he just left me feeling worse both physically and mentally, after having wasted several months seeing him when I could have been seeing a doctor that actually cared. read more

Good Doctor. Awful staff. If they communicate at all, it's rude. Staff never contacts you back no matter how many times you try. Keep being put on hold, I leave voicemails, even text throu the portal...nothing! I was not given any options on where to go for testing. They chose for me without asking. They chose locations for me at least an hour away on the other side of the state. Called health insurance, they said it is the doctor's office discretion. This doctor's office will make me miss a full day of work! If I knew this, I would have chosen differently. If you are in pain and need help, good luck getting any attention here. read more

I had high hopes for this place/Dr. Freeman from the Yelp and Zoc Doc reviews. The Google reviews were bad, but figured I would see for myself. Unfortunately, the Google reviews were a lot more accurate and my experience was similar those patients. I felt a little ripped off -- for such a short appointment -- I swear it was about 3 minutes -- and nothing other than anti-inflammatory medication was recommended, I felt as if I was just giving away my co-pay. I could tell he was very busy, and the waiting room always had several people sitting, and the front desk girls were constantly processing patients. When he walked in, he had the rushed vibe, as in "Tell me your problem, so I can get on my way". It made me flustered and a bit uncomfortable, and I had trouble explaining myself properly. I said I had hip pain and lower back pain, and he asked me which problem was I seeing him for specifically. The thing is, pain can be in multiple places and are often related. He did not take the time to try to understand my pain. In my case, my pain was mostly in my hip, but it spread down my entire legs, and recently it went to my lower back with a very intense tingling/burning sensation. Yet I couldn't get all of that out because I could tell he was not listening. I felt brushed off, like an inconvenience. And this was an early morning appointment around 9- 9:30 AM. Can't imagine how it is later in the day! At that point, I wanted to get out of there, since I knew this place was not right for me personally. It turned me off that he prescribed medication immediately, rather than suggesting Physical therapy or even showing me some simple exercises. I will say the nurse who was in the room with me was very sweet and friendly. She's the only one I liked. Would not come back to that zoo. read more

We visited dr. Orlee hamero today and we were extremely disappointed. She was arrogant, rude and accusing. She was not friendly and refused to treat us. She was not helpful with our pain problem and would not advise use as to what could be done until we pushed her for alternatives of which she was reluctant to provide. In addition, she knew she would not help us weeks ago but forced us to drive 30 miles to have her tell us. We think she did this just to bill the insurance company for our visit. read more

I've been going to Dr Freeman for 25 years he was always a good doctor they sent me to Dr Hamer Don't ever go to her she cut me off my meds they know I have chronic pain I've had 12 back operations two neck operations hand knee and shoulder operations I suffer from chronic pain every day of my life and the one time I went to see Hamer she told me if I don't go on Suboxone they're not going to treat me anymore I've been on the same meds for 20 years I'm fine I could function a little bit with them I'm not in constant pain they know there's nothing else they could do for me shot wise or anything so they discontinue my treatment and threw me out today because I refuse to take Suboxone, was Suboxone I can't take my regular blood pressure medicine plus the sickness that it causes I don't know why they did that I'm fine with the meds I were taking but they just got rid of me so 25 years I've been paying him to give me shots and all these treatments and soon as he tells me that he can't help me anymore because I have such bad chronic pain they got rid of me you don't need that kind of a doctor it's all about the money apparently. Stay away if you need a good doctor .. if you really need a doctor find a different one one that cares a little bit besides the money because if you need shots and you always will if you go to Freeman because that's what he's all about. Before I even had my appointment with Dr. Freeman, it was rescheduled (no less than) 3 times, and then, when received my email checkin, it was for a PA, and not for Dr. Freeman at all. When I called (which is really difficult to do - they want to do everything through text and email) I was told I could not have my original appointment time, had to come in the middle of the day (which would mean taking the day off of work) or wait 2 weeks for another appointment (when I already HAD an appointment I booked 3 weeks ago). THEN... yes, there's more... I get a phone call from someone from Redefine Healthcare wanting to follow up on my appointment with Dr. Freeman (WHEN I HAVE NOT YET EVEN HAD THE APPOINTMENT), and to sell me "a new, at home device, that will help you based on the appointment you had with Dr. Freeman." This place is - in my opinion - obviously a scam and a sham and exactly the reason why pain management centers/clinics have the reputation for being money making mills that pay absolutely no attention to the patients except where and how they can bill the insurance companies. They are rude and make you feel like crap. I suffer from chronic pain and depression and for a medical office to make me feel like the way they do is not right. Dr Hamer has a nasty attitude. Oh my goodness. Dr. Freeman reminded me of Detective Stabler from Law & Order SVU. He's like, an actual human being who doesn't speak in a weird passive bookish manner that makes you feel like you're just a file on a shelf. I was discharged only bc I could no longer get to his office and asked if some of my medication could be prescribed w my GP. The contracts are strict as most of you know! I was literally so scared to see him I almost didn't leave the car. I have CRPS-and, it eats you alive. So many doctors don't know anything about it! Dr. Freeman came in and sat on the infamous Dr. swivel seat-and moved right up close to me. I was sitting on that amazingly useless paper sheet on the exam table. He probably sensed my vulnerability...but, I have no filter thanks to my amazingly inept ADHD brain....and the first thing I said was, "You remind me so much of Detective Stabler from Law & Order SVU. He'd never heard of it. I honestly have recommended at least 20 people to him-all of them have thanked me for the recommendation-but, it's Dr. Freeman's unique and incredibly refreshing way of caring for his many patients in a very genuine way that allowed me to be able to function again. I wish all doctor's had his zeal, tenacity, and genuine caring nature. As well as his extensive gun collection. Wait, that last sentence was for someone else. Chronic pain. I have been a patient of Dr. Freeman for almost three months. He has been treating me for back, hip and knee pain. He is a brilliant doctor but his persona is so low key you may not realize this immediately. He oversees physicians assistants and staff. It is obvious that he wants the treatment of patients to be of the highest caliber. Patients are treated with respect and genuine concern from beginning to end. I have had excellent care from PA Evan Jay, who like Dr. Freeman talks straight to the point. Pain, especially severe pain, can make life difficult if not impossible. Dr. Freeman is aware of this and he does everything possible to reduce the pain so that quality of life is restored. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Freeman's since my back injury due to squats in 2012. I had 2 herniated discs and had initially been seeing him in hopes of avoiding major surgery. When your injury is too severe, unfortunately no amount of steroid injections will help. I went through 2 major spinal fusion surgeries in 2013 and Dr. Freeman has remained by my side through every step of the process. Even though my surgeries weren't hugely successful, I have felt a consistent level of concern and care by Dr. Freeman, Dr. Hamer, PA Evan Jay, and all of the nurses and front desk staff. I continue to be seen by them every 1-2 months, and always feel welcomed when I walk in the door. I am greeted by name by most of the long standing staff. Everyone is courteous and caring. Whether with medication or continued nerve block injections, they are happy to help me try to manage the residual daily pain I deal with. Dr. Freeman was also integral in diagnosing and naming some nerve damage that was incurred due to the fusion surgery, located where bone was removed from my hip for use in the fusion. About 2 years ago, I was able to have another surgery to repair this nerve damage. This led to a greatly reduced pain level I was having any time I sat in a chair. While I may never be fully rid of my back pain, this small improvement drastically increased my quality of life. For all of these reasons, I will always be grateful for Dr. Freeman and the entirety of the Redefine Healthcare staff. There can't be enough said about the importance of having continuity of care by one practice for all of these years. read more

I'm writing my second review and if I could give them less than zero, I would. I've been going since the fall and twice they've cancelled a test I've needed because the tech was out or decided to go away on vacation . That put me several months behind because I cannot take days off from work and the ones I can take are limited. I had to reschedule the test and follow up visit twice, and in my situation, it takes months because they get so booked up. Incidentally, they rarely answer the phone, just get a voicemail and then a text service that asks you to repeat what you already stated. I told them I'm running out of meds going on 2 weeks ago and nothing was called into my pharmacy. Mind you, I should've already run out but I try not to take them every day. I was thrilled to have found some relief after my arthritic knees kept me up at night and created problems during my workday. I told them they were unprofessional and do not care about their patients. Really? Cancelling their own tests twice then not doing the least to help me manage my pain. Redefine Health? To what, imminent suffering and death? I'll be just that before I get my tests or medication. Don't hold your breath. They pack people in and that's all they care about. I first came to Dr. Freeman's office in April and I could barely walk because I have a herniated disc that caused sciatica. Dr. Freeman was so pro active in doing everything he could to help me! He's a great doctor! He starting sending me to Physical Therapy with Neal. In the past I didn't have the best experience with physical therapy and I was hesitant about going! I'm so glad I went because Neal is Awesome! I also observe him working with other people and he treats everyone with such care! I have also seen Evan who is very good! I have been a patient of Dr. Freeman since 2009, I was involved in two car accidents and needlessly to say, I was having quite a bit of pain. I have worked in a Hospital for 15 years as a Technician, working side by side with mostly Orthopedic Surgeons. From my very first visit with Dr.Freeman, I found him to be a straight shooter, not a pill pusher. His ability to perform an effective epidural and trigger point injection really blew me away, I have had them in the past, and felt that they were a waste of time and money. I remember my pain level being at a 9+, he put me to sleep, so I did not move and inserted a catherer in my neck and let it flow. A short time later I was wide awake feeling no pain, I thought to myself, ''wait until next weeks visit" For the next 6 months my pain level reached a manageable 3, that was amazing. Another time I required a Trigger-Point Injection, Dr. Freeman had his Nurse bring in the Ultrasound Machine, every Dr. that I have seen do this uses his finger to try and hit the spot, he rolled the sensor over my entire area and found the exact spot to inject again, the pain was gone. I am not an easy patient, I tend to talk a lot and ask Questions of how he plans on treating me and I know that most Doctors have a hard time dealing with a patient like me. I was recommended to the place but was very disappointed!! I called to set an appointment and the girl at the front desk took my information and never called me back. I had to call back again and schedule an appointment. I should've know then, I was dealing with an unprofessional service. I asked if the doctor accept my insurance, and the girl said, yes. What she failed to mention is that the clinic they conduct produces do not accept my insurance. This information should have been share with me because it's a huge difference. Why would you pay out of network if you can pay in network- makes no sense!!!! These girls at the front desk are not trained to ask the right questions. So, I paid a $60- co-pay for nothing to see Dr. Ceraulo. After I saw him which was only just a few minutes, but I waited forever to see him. My appointment was ta 9am but saw him at 10am. (really!!!) The assistant told me that the procedure department would call me in an hour after I left the office. I am in excruciating pain and have been dealing with sciatic pain for 7 weeks now. I waited patiently all day for the call and never got a call back! I called this morning and spoke with Kim in the procedure department who clearly should not be dealing with people. She has an attitude and is rude. I explained to her that I was told that someone was supposed to call me back yesterday but she didn't' care. I would NOT recommend this place at all.
