Kim, the kids plex manager, holds black kids to a higher standard than the little white kids who get to play there. On numerous occasions I have walked in and witnessed rambunctious children wildly playing, yet when it comes to my 2 year old, she portrays him as a bully that other children apparently have to hide from in fear(this is her direct statement) . I understand having to pick up my son if he is acting unruly, but to depict him as some sort of delinquent is what bothers me. Mind you, he's TWO. When I asked Kim to play back the cameras to show me what my child was accused of doing, she ignored my request and told me that my son wasn't allowed back. She claims that my child has been an issue and that staff has been complaining, yet I was just notified once last week and once today of his alleged behavior. When I went to cancel my membership the general manager Shelly was more than happy to let me go. No remorse, no questions asked.

The owners are good people. I do like that they have several sets of dumbbells, so you aren't waiting for people to finish their set (most women use 10 to 25 lbs. There are many sets throughout the gym). They keep the gym clean, which is a major plus to me. They take pride in their gym. The only minor issue I had was I was working out in the smaller weight area behind the front desk & the young lady came and fumigated the area w Lysol as I was working out. It's not something I want to deeply inhale as I'm "in the zone". The lockers in the female locker room are hit or miss w the locks working & a lot of people just leave their stuff there on a permanent basis making it hard to find an empty locker sometimes to secure your belongings. It is a smaller gym, so there is no hip abuctor machine or leg curl. There is only one smith machine which is popular. There are a lot of teenagers that work out as a group here and take a good bit of time on the machines doing their sets. Which, it's good to see them engaged in a healthy lifestyle, I just wish there were more machines. They do offertraininh classes and nutrition guidance (for a fee). I have not used these services, but my neighbor does and she looks absolutely amazing. They do have a smaller infared sauna that you can pay extra for. Just be sure to schedule your time to ensure you get to use it. I take my own bath towel & sweat it all out. (They have smaller, hard sized towels to sit on) The area is kept very clean & I have seen the health benefits already. Overall, I enjoy this gym verses the others in town & if you're looking for a lot of weight loss, it appears to me that their coaching programs are worth it and small enough that you get personalized attention.

Harold Harrison, the crowd is smaller, people are kinder, and your experience is focused on health, getting a good workout, and excellent opportunities for classes, strength building, and fitness. Class offerings range from popular zumba and yoga to strength training, Chair Zen, and Fit Pump. Activity groups include basketball, and pickle ball. Something for entire family. In addition, Child care is available and the timing of classes and hours of operation fit with any schedule. The center is operated as a ministry so there is some faith and fellowship interwoven and that adds to the great character and genuine welcome you receive when attending. There is no airflow as the AC is rarely on and there is never a breeze and if it IS on its 75 to 78 degrees. It's never a cold breeze. The air is musty, dusty and stagnant. 2. It smells terrible. Thanks to the moldy stagnant air. 3. The air vents are caked with dust. Hence, no air flow. 4. It is extremely HOT and humid in there. Makes your workout insufferable. 5. The two flatscreens over the dumbbell rack have been broken for over 2 years. Flatscreens are cheap these days. With every member paying their monthly dues, you'd think they'd simply replace the two tvs. Makes it very awkward in between sets just looking at broken black tvs. 6. Overall it is a dirty gym. You can tell nothing has EVER been deep cleaned. The equipment has never been wiped down in detail-in between. The dumbbell rack is disgusting. Use warm soapy water or a cleaner and clean the dust and dried sweat from the front/bottom of the treadmills. Clean the legs of every machine. I will say the young lady who works there does a fantastic job cleaning the bathrooms and vacuuming. Other than that you can tell the owners do not update/upgrade or deep clean anything. The owners simply do not care about the sanitary upkeep of this gym and it shows. At least get some decent fresh airflow in there at the bare minimum. Also, it doesn't matter what the owners decide to say in response to this. Everything I said is true. You can't deny the obvious neglect of this gym. Go there yourself and workout and you will see how disgusting and hot it is.
